endless design options online

Pros

Using this product feels very simple and since it's web-based, I can open my projects from any computer or even my phone whenever I need to. It gives me a very generous range of design elements to work with and they do a good job of keeping up with current trends which makes the whole design process much more convenient for me.

Cons

There are so many options available that I sometimes get stuck trying to make a decision. honestly it's the kind of problem I'm happy to have and I really hope they don't scale it back. Still, I can lose hours just comparing all the amazing fonts. Because there's such a huge selection, I've had to create a strategy for myself. I give myself three minutes to choose a font, image or design element and make a final call. Otherwise, I'll keep browsing forever. Thankfully, the folder feature helps a lot when I'm building out brands because I can organize elements together and come back later to quickly decide what works best for a specific project.

Templates for every project

Pros

Being an engineering student, I have to prepare a lot of presentations for academic work. I used the same presentation template again and again for a long time and after a while it became very boring. Because of that, I wanted different templates for my presentations and I even had to use several software tools to try making my own. Creating new presentation templates took a lot of time so I started searching for a better option. That is how I came across it. The first thing that drew me in was its very attractive website. Canva's webpage is also very user-friendly, even for a beginner and it helped guide me to what I needed. It has beautiful templates not only for presentations but also for many other kinds of design work. I mostly use it to create presentations with attractive designs and after almost every presentation, my classmates and teachers ask me how I made them look so good. Now many of them have started using it for their own designs too. Canva is a very good platform for anyone who wants to create design work without having professional design knowledge. It also helped me make my CV in a very attractive style and after that, other people wanted their CVs to look like mine as well. Another thing I appreciate is that it also lets you create your own designs without depending only on templates.

Cons

Honestly there is almost nothing I dislike about it because it is a very well-optimized design platform. The only issue is that many really useful features are restricted and you have to pay to access them. I would prefer if some of those options were included in the free package because that would give users and creators much more flexibility while working in it. It is also necessary to buy the Pro version to download high-quality files of my designs. I really think high-quality downloads should be available for free since many people come to it because they want to create designs in a simple and free way. Having free access to high-quality file downloads would make the platform even better.

My thoughts

Pros

Its one of the most widely used online design tools, there are tons of tutorials, templates and examples available to work from. Even the free version comes with plenty of designs and ready-made templates which is a big help when you are not a designer, like me. Once you move to the paid plan, you get access to a huge range of design options, including templates, images and really eye-catching icons. It feels very adaptive to use and overall it is a very versatile platform. Another strong point is the large number of sizes and formats available for every social network and those dimensions stay updated so they fit perfectly across your channels.

Cons

One limitation in the free version is that you cannot download designs with a transparent background. That is a feature you will probably need sooner or later although it can be solved by upgrading to a paid subscription.

impressed with it

Pros

Feels incredibly personalized, almost like the owner, a young American, is chatting with you through the daily app updates, notifications and weekly emails, all of which you can adjust to receive as often as you want. I really enjoy watching the app grow with new tutorials and extra edited content you can use for your business, whether you're a premium user or using the free version. The amount available to free members is honestly phenomenal, considering the huge range of options. The stock images are the best I've come across so far, they look fresh, bright and modern. Nothing about the app feels cheaply done either. Every part of it looks polished and professional, from the individual sections to the tutorials and the quality of the photos. There's also a personal file area which is super useful when you want quick access to something you've already created so you can reuse it or make updates without starting from scratch again, even though creating something new isn't difficult either.

Cons

There's honestly very little to complain about because I think the app is fantastic. It works well alongside other apps which is a big plus. If I had to point out one thing, it would be even better if it connected directly to Instagram instead of making you save an image first and then upload it separately as another file.

creative design for everyone

Pros

It keeps things simple while still being incredibly effective. It's approachable enough that new users don't feel overwhelmed and it really delivers on making graphic design accessible to a wide range of people. It's the kind of tool that helps bring out your creativity and turn ideas into something polished.

Cons

This is more of an observation than a complaint. I really enjoy everything it brings to the table and even the free version includes a strong set of features. If you end up loving it and there's a good chance you will,it's worth upgrading to the paid plan for access to the premium tools.

works great

Pros

Canva comes with ready-made templates for just about every occasion and it's simple to use them as they are or customize them into your own design. I especially appreciate how it already has the sizing and format choices set up for all the major social media platforms. The built-in stock photo library is incredibly helpful and the overall range of features and design options is honestly impressive.

Cons

A minor frustration with the free version is that it mixes free photos and graphics in with Pro-only content which clearly seems intended to encourage upgrades. It would be much better if there were a checkbox to show only free graphics or at least place those options first.

canva feels like a creative dream

Pros

Working in it has honestly been a dream. The platform is very affordable especially since you can begin for free and still get access to plenty of free photos, elements and templates. It's incredibly user-friendly and the template library is huge which makes creating designs feel really approachable. Being able to start on the free plan and then pay only for specific add-on images or videos is a fantastic way to learn the platform without feeling locked into a subscription. Once it becomes part of your regular workflow, it's hard not to love it.

Cons

There's barely anything I dislike about it but if I had to point to one thing, it would be how video downloads are handled. When you download them all at once, they come as one continuous video instead of separate files in a zip folder like images do. I understand why that setup is helpful for people who don't use video editing software but I still wish there were an option to opt out and receive each page as its own file. Right now, the only workaround is downloading every page separately and that can be pretty time-consuming.

polished output

Pros

This tool is fantastic option for putting together simple, repeatable designs. We've used it for social media graphics, flyers and even our annual report. A lot works well here, there's a solid collection of free graphics and clip art and the reasonably priced Pro version now covers usage rights for all the stock photos and assets on the platform. The interface is very adaptive especially compared with tools like Photoshop or Pixelmator on Mac. Those programs are powerful but they come with a steep learning curve. It doesn't offer every advanced feature but it handles many and probably most, day-to-day design tasks quickly and without any training. It's also heavily template-based which is a big advantage. You can start from the templates or build your own. We created a template for our social posts and can now update and reuse it without much effort. Another plus is being able to upload your logo and brand colors so they're saved in the system and ready whenever you start a new design. Since everything is online, there's no software to install and your work is always there when you need it. I also appreciate the range of export options, including bleed and crop marks for commercial printing. I've had pieces printed professionally and the final results looked excellent.

Cons

Biggest limitation is the lack of pixel-perfect control. I haven't found rulers in the system and that can be frustrating when certain elements need to be placed in an exact position. It hasn't prevented us from producing print materials but it does create some annoyance at times. There are also occasional tasks it just can't handle so I have to switch to another application, such as when I need to remove an image background with a custom crop.

Plenty of resources

Pros

Right from the start, the platform feels very simple to use. Most of the tools are pretty self-explanatory and the ones that aren't only take a little bit of clicking around to figure out. Compared with other offline apps, it offers a huge library of resources like icons, images and even text templates in different sizes and fonts, all just a few clicks away. That saves a lot of time especially when you're in a rush. We rely on it whenever there isn't enough time to get a professional designer involved but we still need something that looks polished or even playful, like for internal events and company announcements. It's also reasonably priced and works well for certain business needs. It's especially useful for putting together T-shirt designs quickly and I appreciate that it even provides measurements when you search.

Cons

That simplicity and clean interface does come with a small tradeoff though because some very basic tasks end up being a little more complicated than expected. Drawing a simple line is a good example. Since there's no pencil tool, you have to go into shapes, pick a line that works and then adjust it from there. It's still manageable but having a few more basic freehand or custom drawing tools would definitely make the experience better.

fantastic for real estate posts

Pros

It works really well for putting together infographics fast especially for real estate educational content you want to share on social media. It comes with templates for all kinds of posts and they're pretty simple to customize. If you already have a certain style or visual direction in mind, you can browse through the huge template library, pick one that fits and tweak it to match what you want. The feature set is somewhat limited but still strong enough to handle almost anything most people need. honestly that simplicity is part of the appeal because it keeps you from getting buried in too many choices the way some other design tools do, where you can waste time obsessing over fonts or transitions. It's a clean, simple, affordable platform. The import and export options are also a big plus. You can upload your own photos, branding, logos and more, then export finished designs in a range of formats depending on where you plan to post them. Between the stock images, graphics, fonts and templates, there's more than enough quality content to build solid presentations. It fits perfectly with our real estate posting workflow.

Cons

One issue with the software is that moving certain elements around within a layout can be harder than it should be. Compared with some other programs, repositioning items in a design can feel a little dated. The other drawback is that many of the graphics and templates require payment so if you're using the free version, your choices are noticeably more limited.

ideal for our design needs

Pros

Between the excellent free plan and the reasonably priced paid version, this software has become part of my daily routine. The templates make it simple to customize fonts, colors and photos and I can even upload my band kit fonts and color codes to keep everything on brand. The newer background removal tool has taken the place of Photoshop for most of my projects which has been a huge plus. Being able to resize one graphic into multiple dimensions is also a massive win for social media work. The photo library is extensive and quick to search and I appreciate that all of my designs are saved for fast retrieval later. Duplicating designs is just as helpful since I can build one template and reuse it across different projects. Also, stickers and animated GIF creation add even more flexibility. I also love that I can order affordable printed versions of my designs, whether it's holiday cards or posters, without having to export files and send them to another vendor. It really organized the whole process.

Cons

I honestly don't have any complaints about the desktop version and am excited to see what improvements and new features continue to be added. The only area that feels a bit less polished is the mobile app which can be harder to work with because of the smaller screen and the precision needed when dragging and dropping elements with your finger.

i enjoy using it

Pros

Putting designs together with this software feels very simple. Uploading my own images is simple and I've been able to create beautiful posters, flyers, tickets and even a workbook for my business with it.

Cons

My biggest concern is the pricing. For a new business that's just getting started, the yearly cost to access the best features feels pretty expensive and even the monthly option can be a lot in the beginning. That said, the free version still works really well.

canva transformed my ads

Pros

Before this, design was never really my thing. I would not call myself an artist at all but once I started using it for my work ads, the way I create them changed completely. After giving it some patience and letting my creativity kick in, I started making designs that honestly felt impressive by my own standards. Canva is the best tool for creating your own ads and it is very user-friendly. I genuinely enjoy using it. Right now I am trying Canva Pro and I think it will help me produce even better ads for my customers and strengthen my work in such a challenging time. It is absolutely worth jumping into Canva without wasting any more time.

Cons

The limitation is not really the software but the person using it. If you want to create an ad with a strong idea that truly attracts new customers, you need to invest time and explore everything it can do. It is a very good tool but you have to spend time learning its full potential and understanding what you can create with it. The smartest approach is to practice, dedicate time and keep making ads because that is the only way to learn and get the most out of your own potential.

helped me so much

Pros

It has been the best graphic design tool I've used. It lets even a beginner put together professional-looking logos, banners, flyers and posters in just a matter of minutes. I've been using Canva for nearly 7 years to create banners, flyers and posters for advertising campaigns and the results were so well received by my supervisors that people stopped asking for a professional graphic designer. That journey even helped me become a freelancer on platforms like Fiverr, where I now offer my design services. I've completed several hundred orders using Canva as my only work tool. The platform is excellent because it provides templates you can fully customize, giving you plenty of room to express your creativity. Canva has truly helped me grow my creative skills and turn my passion into a source of income.

Cons

At first, I used its free version but the projects I created were basically unusable because the "Canva" watermark was always placed right in the middle of my designs. That made the work impossible to use and also prevented anyone from properly judging the quality of what I had made. I almost gave up on it because of that since I wasn't ready to move to the paid version before first testing my work through the free plan but that really wasn't possible. Another downside is that some themes come with plenty of templates, while others have very few which becomes frustrating when you need to work on a topic that seems overlooked.

a great pick!

Pros

As the only person handling marketing for our small catering and event planning business, Canva has been a lifesaver. I've been using it for more than two years and I still can't get enough of it. I build everything there, menus, ads and social media posts, and it helps me keep the quality consistent and professional without needing a full creative team. There's a ton of flexibility in the design tools too. I can customize every piece from start to finish, including size, fonts, rotation, transparency, colors, GIFs or other moving media and then export everything in whatever format I need, like PDF, JPG, PNG or video. When I need photos or design elements, I just type in keywords and thousands of useful options appear. Not everything is free but there are so many free templates and design choices that it still feels like the free version gives you a lot to work with. And when something includes a watermark, the extra cost usually feels reasonable and worth paying.I've made everything from simple restaurant signs to more polished, attention-grabbing social media ads. One of the biggest advantages is that I can sign in from any computer and all my designs are right there waiting for me. It also autosaves changes regularly which gives me peace of mind because I'm not worried about losing work. It's also nice that they offer printing options.

Cons

One area that still feels limited is the moving image selection. it has added moving GIFs which is a nice feature but the variety isn't quite there yet. I'd really like to see them expand those options because animated elements are attention-grabbing and would help creative users like me produce even better content. I also haven't tested Canva's printing service myself yet, even though that option is available. I'm planning to try it soon for a personal project since I'm getting married and want to design my own wedding invitations and save-the-dates through it.

customization is great

Pros

Unlike a lot of tools aimed at non-designers, it doesn't box you in with a tiny set of choices that make every logo, banner or graphic come out looking the same. It stands out because it gives you enough flexibility to explore tons of different directions while still keeping the process fun and approachable. There are plenty of assets to experiment with so you can actually create something that feels original and personal instead of just picking from a couple of fixed templates. At the same time, it's simple enough that you don't need to struggle through tutorials or spend ages learning the platform before getting started. It's especially useful for putting together things like logos, banners, t-shirt designs and other quick visual assets when you don't have access to a professional designer. For home businesses, startups or teams where the CEO, product lead or marketer has to jump in and make campaign materials or merchandise, it's a really practical option.

Cons

This feels more like a limitation than a true complaint but it offers a huge range of template categories, including videos and restaurant menus, while still missing a couple of important use cases as of Mar 28, 2020. It doesn't seem to support screenshot layouts for app stores and its video tools don't let you overlay a graphic or another video inside a scene. Those two gaps matter quite a bit for small businesses building apps since they often need promotional screenshots with marketing text around them as well as demo videos that showcase app content. If those are priorities, you'll probably need to use other services like Biteable for promo videos and The App Launchpad for screenshot generation.

it powers our remote team

Pros

When I launched my marketing business, the plan was always to scale with a remote team. That made it pretty clear I needed a design tool that could offer a lot of what Illustrator does but without the expense or the hassle of installing software on everyone's machine. Canva ended up being exactly that for us,a cloud-based design tool that feels like a Swiss army knife. I can be in Buenos Aires, bring on a teammate in Los Angeles and have them working right away without worrying about whether they have an Adobe subscription. Also, Canva's interface has become much stronger over time, with features like smart guides, really solid export options and built-in access to stock images. Because of that, we rely on Adobe less and less.

Cons

There honestly isn't much to criticize because their team has built a really strong product overall. Still, there's one smaller detail I'd love to see improved. With security and privacy mattering more than ever, I wish it supported two-factor authentication through an authenticator app. Right now, 2FA is available by text message but my team travels constantly and we've had phones lost or stolen more than once. Since we already use 1Password on our computers to generate login codes, having an authenticator-based 2FA option would be far more practical and would save us time.

packed with templates

Pros

Canva packs in so many useful features that it's honestly hard to know where to begin. It's very simple to use, even without any background in graphic design and the tools it offers compete well with a lot of pricier paid platforms. The interface is beginner-friendly and quick to pick up especially since so much of it works with simple drag-and-drop actions. There are tons of templates so not only are things like Facebook headers and Instagram posts already sized correctly but there are also plenty of free designs you can customize. It's also helpful for teamwork since you can share designs with others and make copies. Overall, there's a lot here to appreciate in Canva.

Cons

Really isn't much for me to complain about. A fair number of elements like images, fonts and GIFs, along with features such as resizing a design without rebuilding it, are locked behind the paid subscription and it doesn't give you a way to hide those items though I understand why. Downloaded files can sometimes come out with odd formatting. It also doesn't do everything Photoshop or InDesign can do so it's not a full replacement for those programs. Beyond that, the downsides are pretty minor, like pasted text losing paragraph spacing or bullet formatting so there's not a lot to dislike.

complete social media creator

Pros

It feels incredibly adaptive to use because the whole workflow is basically drag and drop. There's a huge selection of elements to work with, including images, text, shapes and now even video and GIFs which makes it really useful for putting together engaging social media posts. Another thing that helps a lot is that all the format sizes are available right from the beginning so you just choose the final use, pick the dimensions and then start creating from there.

Cons

The free plan gives you a lot to work with which is a big plus but things get tricky when you need extras such as premium images, premium shapes or specific export options like transparent PNG. The paid plan is fairly affordable and does unlock a lot of worthwhile features but the downside is the stock image microtransactions since those have to be bought one by one and they are not cheap. For basic work, I'd suggest sticking with the free version and using an outside stock image source if needed. If your goal is to replace Photoshop entirely, then going Pro is really the only option although it still won't do everything Photoshop can. At least with Pro you get more export options and access to a much larger built-in stock library.

so good!!

Pros

This has been part of my workflow for years,I actually started using it back when it was still in beta and access required an invite. Since then, it has become my go-to tool for creating just about every kind of graphic I need social media posts and profile images, blog graphics, posters, Facebook ads, website visuals, logos and more. I use it almost every single day. The biggest advantage is that it lets you make polished, professional-looking designs without having to learn a complex program like Photoshop. The learning curve is very light and if you know how to click, drag and drop, you can get up and running fast.

Cons

Honestly there's very little about it that I dislike. I used the free version for a couple of years and was able to do quite a lot with it before moving up to the Pro plan. I only upgraded because I reached a point where I needed some of the extra features. One example is that the free version doesn't let you export PNG files with transparent backgrounds which can be limiting, especially when creating logos. Still, I don't really see that as a flaw so much as a reason to pay for the upgraded version. It feels like a fair trade especially considering how many useful features come with Pro.
