One of the biggest advantages of Grammarly is how well it works with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Office 365 Online which helps me write clear and effective emails in real time for work. It does more than just fix grammar too since it also recommends stronger and more impactful word choices.

Cons

Even though it's very simple to use, the add-in does occasionally take longer than expected to load and that can slow me down a bit. Still, overall, I would definitely recommend it.

The plagiarism checker is another big reason it has become my favorite writing tool. Its integration with Google Docs also makes everything much more accessible and easier to manage online which really supports my writing business.

Cons

Since English is not my native language, Grammarly would be even better if it also supported other African languages instead of focusing only on English.

Keeping track of every spelling error, punctuation issue and grammar mistake is much easier with Grammarly and it does a lot more beyond that. The platform is also very simple to use which makes it even more helpful day to day.

I've been using Grammarly for the past few years and Honestly I haven't noticed anything missing. It feels like a complete tool and has been pretty much perfect for what I need.

One feature I really appreciate is the realtime grammar correction. Whenever I accidentally make a mistake, it catches it right away and helps me fix it which ends up saving me a lot of time.

Cons

At times, the paraphrasing doesn't work as well as it should. Sometimes it changes the original wording into something unrelated.

Writing feels a lot less stressful with Grammarly. When I miss words or accidentally use the wrong one, it catches it right away and offers a correction.

It can be a bit too aggressive with punctuation suggestions especially with commas. It also tends to recommend hyphens between words more often than I think is necessary.

Something that really appeals to me about Grammarly is its extensive word bank. The sentence-building, editing and suggestion features are excellent and the double-tap synonym selection is especially handy. I also find the document layout very practical since it's simple to keep organized. The reading score, engagement score and details feature have all played a big part in helping me improve the overall quality of my writing. Overall, it's an excellent tool for checking grammar, punctuation and spelling.

Cons

There are times when Grammarly suggests corrections that aren't actually right so I still have to stop and judge whether a recommendation makes sense before applying it. Even with Grammarly, writing still takes effort and I need to spend time revising and rewriting my work.

The strongest parts is the grammar checking. It not only fixes mistakes but also suggests better ways to phrase sentences. The autocorrect is also incredibly helpful especially in a job like mine where writing is such an important part of the work.

Cons

A downside is that some features are locked behind payment before you can really test them. I wish there were limited free trials or a set number of uses so people could try those features first.

Across pretty much every app and website I use, Grammarly is there which makes it really convenient. It's especially useful in places that don't come with built-in proofreading. The tone feature is another part I rely on a lot because it helps me make sure my messages aren't being interpreted the wrong way. I end up using that feature on almost every message I send.

Cons

Proofreading feature is helpful but it's not perfect. It doesn't always get things right so I still have to review its suggestions and double-check them from time to time.

Something that works really well with Grammarly is its interactive browser widget/extension which helps keep whatever you type free of errors. It offers corrections for mistakes, recommends better ways to phrase sentences, improves punctuation and covers a lot more than just basic grammar. The suggestions appear by underlining a word or phrase and showing a corrected version underneath, leaving it up to the user to accept the change or ignore it.

Cons

That said, Grammarly does occasionally glitch and recommend changes that are actually wrong for the context of the sentence. While those suggestions are usually easy enough to dismiss and it seems to be happening less often over time, it is still something worth keeping in mind.

Pros

One of the biggest wins for me with Grammarly is how it flags whether my emails come across as playful, casual or professional. That's something I genuinely appreciate because I no longer have to second-guess whether my tone matches what I'm trying to say or how someone might read it. The spell check is also excellent and I really value how it catches extra words, unnecessary spaces, missing spaces, punctuation issues and even when a word should or shouldn't be hyphenated. Very appreciated.

Cons

The one thing that keeps bothering me is the recurring "how to" or program tour prompt. Even after clicking "No, thank you," it still seems to pop up pretty often. I'd really like a way to disable that entirely although I'm not sure whether that option exists or where to find it if it does. It can be distracting, interrupt what I'm doing and break my concentration. At its worst, it has made me want to uninstall it and stop using it altogether but then it goes quiet for a while and I'm able to enjoy everything the tool offers without the interruptions.

Grammarly has become something I rely on all the time. It helps me write professional emails with advanced spelling and grammar checks and it also suggests better wording when I need it.

Contextual suggestion feature could still be improved. Right now, those suggestions are not helpful in every situation.
