Easy to use but ideal only for small teams

Pros

Backlog is really easy to use and ideal for handling projects and tasks especially with small to mid-sized teams. The layout is clean and user friendly too making it easy to track tasks, manage deadlines and collaborate without confusion. I particularly like having issues, milestones and files stored together in one place as it keeps projects organized and reduces clutter. The learning curve is pretty minimal so new team members get up to speed quickly without much training. Overall it feels like great value compared to many other project management tools.

Cons

That said when I try to scale it up for very large or highly complex projects it starts acting up. Also I notice some advanced capabilities and integrations that other platforms offer are absent here which can be limiting for more demanding workflows. The interface while simple and functional could benefit from a more modern design and I would like to see stronger reporting features with greater customization so I can generate the tailored insights my team sometimes needs.

offer easy access to simple project tools

Pros

It is easy to access all the project tools I needed right from the start with no digging or complicated setup. I am able to produce deliverables for my team quickly and efficiently. And saving everything in a simple, shareable file format means everyone can open, review and use the materials without compatibility issues or extra steps. It makes collaboration smooth and frustration-free.

Cons

There is one thing that I dislike mainly and that is the customer support. It is not the best..

Perfect task management with reasonable pricing

Pros

The software is pretty easy to use. I mean there is nothing extra as it is a perfect task management tool. The subscription tiers are also reasonably priced and I found it simple to begin using right away.

Cons

I'd like to see more customization options such as the ability to add, remove or rename particular categories to suit my personal workflow. Also entering information can be time-consuming since it often requires multiple clicks to complete even simple entries.

simple and useful with tidy interface

Pros

I find this a simple and useful tool for managing everyday tasks and projects. I also like how tidy and uncluttered the interface is as it is approachable even for users just starting out. Creating tasks, assigning them to teammates, setting deadlines and monitoring progress all works well together and are organized. Plus the collaboration tools like comments, file sharing and version control keep everything centralized. It also saves me time and significantly improves how our team coordinates especially for small to mid-sized teams.

Cons

There are a few drawbacks I have noticed such as some of the more advanced capabilities feel restricted unless you upgrade from the basic plans. Also I feel like the reporting tools could offer deeper, more customizable insights. Newcomers who aren't used to project-management apps can sometimes hit a learning curve before they get comfortable. Plus the mobile app could be faster and smoother as improving its performance would make navigating and working on the go a lot easier.

Good value

Pros

Being able to organize my team's backlog so well was something I really liked and the service gave me good value for the money. Yes it took a little time to get comfortable with the features but overall the learning curve felt minor.

Cons

I haven't used their customer service so I can't say how well it performs. I never needed to contact support during my project which means there have not been any real tests of their responsiveness or help yet.

impressed by simple layout and git/wiki

Pros

I am quite impressed by the simple, easy to use layout. Also the issue tracking feature is dependable and the Git/Wiki integration is really useful. I hope everyone who tries it finds it as user friendly as I did.

Cons

That said I notice reporting and customization options are pretty limited and the UX/UI feels a bit outdated when I compare it to newer tools.

scaled with growth, great for teachers

Pros

We have been using Backlog with fairly good results until our user base grew exponentially. But today it handled that same growth again meaning I no longer have to walk each teacher through what they are supposed to be doing. Overall it is great as I didn't even need to send a technician to set up the entire system.

Cons

Honestly the mobile app frustrates me because it is a little difficult to navigate and suffers from noticeable lag that interrupts my workflow. I also really dislike that if I create a Channel inside a Space or Folder there is no way to delete it. That restriction seems absurd to me. On top of that I find it annoying that I cannot turn on my camera when making Clips.

great value with quick support

Pros

Backlog delivers strong value for the money by offering a well-rounded feature set at an affordable price. I also find their customer support quick to respond and supported by great documentation making problem-solving simple. The tool's interface is clean and user-friendly so the onboarding time becomes hassle-free and our team can start using it quickly. Collaboration across projects and team members feels smooth thanks to centralized task lists, real-time updates, threaded comments and timely notifications that keep everyone on the same page. Managing tasks is easy too with visible priorities, statuses, milestones and due dates. Although employee management is basic, the role and access controls adequately support team administration within projects.

Cons

One dislike is the narrow options for customization and reporting. As I feel the analytics, dashboards and workflow tailoring remain pretty basic when stacked against other tools. The staff-management capabilities are not good too and although the interface is tidy it can seem a bit old-fashioned for power users seeking deeper metrics and automation.

User-friendly with clean layout

Pros

It is very user-friendly and it never felt like there was a steep learning curve for me. The layout is also clean and well-structured so following tasks, tracking bugs and monitoring overall project status is not a problem. I also appreciate that issues, comments and file sharing live together which makes collaborating with my team really easy.

Cons

Sometimes I run into problems signing into the mobile app, where I just can't get logged in. Though it does not occur all the time but when it happens it's a hassle because it interrupts my ability to check or update projects while I am away from my desk.

Restrictive customization and reporting

Pros

There is nothing that I liked much about this tool. Or maybe it does not works the best for me.

Cons

The thing I disliked most about it was how restrictive its customization and reporting are. Plus its interface looks tidy yet feels inflexible and the platform's advanced analytics or workflow customizing aren't as adaptable as many rival project management suites. Also its integrations and automation are not the best which may hinder more complicated team workflows.

Way too easy, adopted quickly

Pros

It is way too easy to use. As within a very short period every developer on our team adopted the tool and within about a week or two we had already exceeded one hundred tracked issues.

Cons

Our team had to build the on-prem app ourselves because there is not an official one and the guidance we received for assembling it was pretty high-level and less helpful than we would have liked.

easy to use and connects with slack

Pros

I am on the free plan and find it really easy to use as it connects smoothly with my other apps like Slack. Also it's excellent for keeping track of the various projects I have running.

Cons

The main issue is there are fewer features compared to other free tools that is my only real complaint because with so much competition now, free plans need to include more capabilities and better compatibility with other software.

Pros

extremely helpful for remote task organization

Pros

This tool is extremely helpful for organizing tasks across our company. Since most of us are working remotely, I rely on the this tool to keep track of where each project stands and to monitor our progress on multiple projects easily.

Cons

I think they could refine some of the layouts and beef up the ticketing capabilities as here it needs improvement. Also we'd benefit if every team member were registered so they can directly send emails for support and similar requests.
