“Impressed with bulk messaging”
Pros
Their bulk instant messaging stands out as the most effective feature I've seen compared to other chat apps and it has made our group conversations extremely efficient.
Cons
I haven't noticed any real issues with the features but carrying out certain actions, like deleting chats, can sometimes take a little longer than expected.

Having group conversations in one place was really useful.

Nothing as such, just found it hard to keep up with the discussion while I was typing out my reply.

“Quick and to the point”
Pros
Everything feels quick, easy and to the point without a bunch of unnecessary questions getting in the way.
Cons
All of the chat prompts are frustrating because we'd rather speak with an actual person.

“Very clutter free!”
Pros
Getting everything up and running was simple and there isn't a bunch of unnecessary clutter getting in the way or overcomplicating things.
Cons
At this point, we haven't come across anything we dislike yet.

“secure messaging across devices”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages is the level of data protection since you can trust that the information shared in messages stays secure. It's also available to download on multiple platforms, including Android, iOS, Windows and Linux. Also, the app is very simple to use and comes with plenty of useful features that help keep communication clear and effective.
Cons
There are just two areas where I'd really like it to improve. The search feature can be unreliable because looking up a specific word does not always bring up the correct results and sometimes shows random messages instead. Also, notifications for new messages do not consistently pop up when they should.

“useful open-source messaging hub”
Pros
This is a solid open-source option, even if it comes with quite a few flaws. Beyond the fact that it's free, it still lets you connect a few tools. You can manage different discussion channels or groups, mark users as favorites and of course exchange messages.
Cons
Threaded conversations are hard to follow and not very clear. The desktop app also uses quite a bit of memory and doesn't save login credentials which means having to sign in again every time. It's also not simple to add GIFs some file types can't be sent at all and overall it struggles to compare with something like Slack.

“A powerful free slack alternative”
Pros
Switching to this tool was a really welcome move when Slack's monthly costs started getting too expensive for us. It offers pretty much the same functionality Slack does but without costing anything at all which was a huge plus.
Cons
Getting it up and running does require some basic knowledge of Linux, web hosting and related setup tasks. Without that, the installation process can quickly turn into a frustrating headache.

“Easy channel control”
Pros
It had the kind of features I was looking for. I appreciated having the choice to self-host it or pay for hosting, depending on what works best. It's easy to use, includes solid options for locking down channels and makes it very clear which channels are set up for public access.
Cons
What i think it lacks is staff profile details like job titles or phone numbers. It also switches your status to away on its own and the only way to change it back is by restarting it. Also, it tends to freeze whenever an update is released and only starts working properly again after the update is completed.

“I like it”
Pros
All club members can stay connected on one shared platform, with both group chats and one-on-one conversations available. It's also possible to run polls directly inside chat groups using the survey bot which is really useful.
Cons
The push notification service drops out from time to time so new messages occasionally go unnoticed.

“fantastic teamwork platform”
Pros
This platform works really well for team collaboration. The design is clean and understated but still very efficient and the features feel very user friendly to use.
Cons
Something I'd still want is more profile customization so people can present a more complete and professional-looking profile.

“Flexible admin controls”
Pros
Installing it inside a closed network worked well and there are plenty of configuration options available. The administration features are solid and the pricing is fairly reasonable if you want to add support.
Cons
At times, the delays can be quite noticeable. There's also no mobile support for video chats and it doesn't include a calling feature.

“excellent user grouping control”
Pros
It's really helpful to keep all your users in one place and set up different groups so communication stays organized and goes to the right people.
Cons
One issue is that notifications in the mobile app aren't always synchronized properly.

“easy chat widget setup”
Pros
Adding a live chat widget to a web app is very customizable and I really appreciate how simple the setup is. You do not need to import extra modules since it works by just running a JavaScript snippet in the app. The features themselves are very solid although figuring out the right way to use everything can take a little effort.
Cons
The interface feels a bit outdated and looks somewhat odd. Also, when embedding the live chat with a script, it only works on the server address by default instead of any website. To make it run everywhere, you have to go to a different page and it would make more sense if that option were available on the same page instead.

“buggy and heavy on memory”
Pros
Compared with Slack, it offers far fewer tools and customization options for tailoring the experience. It handles the basics well enough, chatting with teams and creating group conversations. Beyond that though, it's not necessarily the best option out there.
Cons
As a software, it's honestly a mess. It tends to use an absurd amount of RAM, easily around 2 GB and on top of that it's packed with all kinds of bugs like random disconnections, gray screens and encrypted conversations that can't even be decrypted. To make matters worse, it never seems to remember your session so you have to log in again every single time.

“I'd recommend this”

“real-time messaging done right”
Pros
Posting messages instantly is one of the things I enjoy most especially since I can tag a specific person or add emojis to make the message more fun. It's also really helpful that I can favorite a room so it always stays in my conversation list. Also, updating my profile and settings is fairly simple and being able to edit or delete a message after posting comes in handy when needed.
Cons
One issue I still run into is that the software can lag sometimes and it may take close to a minute before it catches up with current messages. The pinned messages feature is also inconsistent because there are times when I can pin something but then not actually see it afterward. I'm not sure whether that has to do with a character limit or something else. Another downside is with direct or private messages since there's no option to fully delete them once they're no longer needed, you can only hide them.

“self-hosted control and smart automation”
Pros
Being able to run a self-managed version on our own servers at no cost was a huge advantage. It meant we could keep full ownership of our data. Also, we set up a chatbot connected to our MySQL database and automated how work gets assigned.
Cons
There are more than 1,200 permission settings to deal with. Only about half of the software is documented at an acceptable level, while the rest is marked as still under development. Because of that, it's very hard to understand the exact impact each setting will have.
