“Responsive support”
Pros
It covers everything I need it to do. Customizing it and adjusting it to fit our needs is very easy. Also, their support team is helpful and replies very quickly whenever an issue comes up.
Cons
There are a few bugs here and there but they don't affect the core functionality. They mainly show up in less important features that don't really matter much to users.

“quick group chats for teams”
Pros
This software worked really well for our internal communication. It was fast, easy to use and made group chats very convenient for the team.
Cons
Something I didn't like was the lack of voice calling and that was ultimately why our company moved to a different platform.

“Strong security”
Pros
Setting it up and configuring it is pretty easy and it can be deployed across different platforms like Ubuntu, Ocean, Docker and others. It also supports both Android and iOS apps which is a nice advantage. The text-formatting option adds value and sending or receiving files works well. Because of that, restrictions can also be applied at the server level to control data sharing. Creating channels or groups is useful and the two-step security feature is a really good addition.
Cons
You cannot create groups yourself and that is a limitation for us. It also doesn't integrate with Windows Server Active Directory. Another issue is that when you paste a large amount of data, it gets converted into a text file and the editor is not capable of handling medium to large-sized data properly.

“Overall its very stable”
Pros
Getting comfortable with it took almost no time at all. The interface feels very user friendly and even now it continues to be very stable. Its biggest strength is probably how reliably it maintains such a strong track record over time.
Cons
Doesn't seem to get much publicity and the name itself isn't especially appealing. I also can't or maybe just don't know how to open two conversations in separate windows.

“Easy sharing”
Pros
It's really useful for chatting with coworkers and sharing certain types of files.
Cons
What's missing is a calling feature for video conferencing.

“missing search and file sharing limits”
Pros
One useful thing about this software is that it comes in both a web version and a desktop version. It also lets me set up both private and public conversation groups. When coworkers are mentioned in a conversation, they get notified quickly which helps a lot. Another positive point is that the icon library is quite extensive.
Cons
There are still several limitations though. I can't search for images or text inside conversations and attaching files often doesn't work for me. There's also no gallery or library for previously shared images which makes tracking them down harder. Finding older messages is difficult as well. Also, it doesn't support audio messages or voice and video calls.

“friendly interface with creative emojis”
Pros
The interface has a user-friendly design and the tool also supports LDAP which is really helpful. The fun and creative emojis add a nice touch and make messages feel more engaging and innovative.
Cons
Every now and then, the application responds a bit slowly. Also, when opening it from the Start menu, it doesn't appear right away on the screen and instead stays minimized in the bottom-right corner without any clear indication.

“I really enjoy using it”
Pros
Running it on your own server is a big advantage because it lets you avoid relying on third-party providers and recurring subscription costs. You can download and set up the server yourself, then start using it once the client is installed and configured or just access it through the web client instead. Another nice benefit is its websocket and RESTful API support which makes it possible to connect it with other applications you build. Since it's free and open source, it can become a capable, modern chat platform without costing anything if you set it up well.
Cons
More detailed server configuration can be a bit of a hassle at times and it takes some time to fully understand how to handle those finer settings.

“10/10 platform!”
Pros
After trying quite a few options, we landed on it. It's open-source, free to use and the setup process was simple. Integrating it with other tools was also pretty easy.
Cons
Documentation could definitely be better. Also, if you want access to the Rocket marketplace, you'll need to move to a paid plan.

“made work easier”
Pros
Since it's free to use, it has completely replaced every other communication tool in my project. All the core features are there too, like channels, groups, one-to-one chat and everything else we need for daily collaboration.
Cons
Every now and then, notifications show up late. I'm not sure whether that comes from the tool itself or from my browser or operating system settings.

“chat history and file sharing win”
Pros
Right away, the biggest plus for me is that all chat logs stay saved which makes it really convenient to look back on past conversations. It's also very simple to send code snippets, images and pretty much any type of file to coworkers.
Cons
Up to this point, I haven't run into anything I dislike about it. Compared with the messaging tool we used before, Skype, this feels like a major upgrade.

“Strong admin control”
Pros
There are some really useful features here and one of the best parts is how much control you get over the software as an administrator.
Cons
Getting everything set up and adjusting the user roles was a little more complicated than I expected although that also comes from the fact that they provide so many options.

“fairly priced”
Pros
Being open source, free and self-hosted gives us a lot of flexibility to run and maintain a nationwide communications platform while keeping expenses very low.
Cons
Our biggest challenge with it has been that notifications can be somewhat inconsistent on certain mobile phones.

“Feature-packed”
Pros
Compared with the market leader, it really doesn't fall short on features. Also, it's open source, free to use and highly extensible.
Cons
Because it's open source and comes at no cost, the tradeoff is lighter support and a more difficult setup. If your IT team can handle that challenge, it's definitely worth it.

“rocket.chat is so good!”
Pros
When my previous employer moved us from Slack to this software, I ended up preferring it by a lot. The interface has a familiar Slack-like feel so it was user friendly to start using right away. The biggest plus for me was having full access to past chat history instead of it being blocked off. It also does a really good job of keeping personal conversations separate from business-related ones which cuts down on all the back-and-forth over email.
Cons
I really don't have any cons to point out. If I had to choose between Slack and this software, I'd pick this one.

“clean usability but missing chat threads”
Pros
Covers a lot of the basics I was looking for especially LDAP authentication and the option to run it on-premises. I also appreciate that it's available across web, mobile and desktop and the overall interface feels clean and user-friendly.
Cons
There are still a few gaps that hold it back. Some features in the native mobile app don't work yet, like voting in polls. It also doesn't support threaded chat, SharePoint integration isn't very easy and since the desktop client is only based on Electron, notifications feel somewhat limited.

“Tons of features”
Pros
This is a fully open-source, scalable platform with an impressive range of features. It covers everything from message history and public or private channels to video and admin controls, plus plenty more. There are honestly more options than I'll probably ever need but I really appreciate having all of them available.
Cons
To get in touch with Support or Sales can be frustrating. When it comes to making bigger changes across my organization, I prefer being able to speak with a real person on the phone.

“Incredible software”
Pros
Their team was really helpful in responding to all of our end users' questions which made the license transition feel smooth.
Cons
Initial licensing process was a bit confusing and without the conference call from the team to clear things up, it would have been much more difficult to understand.

“overall decent but a bit annoying!”
Pros
Video calls, group channels and team conversations give this chat app several ways to stay connected with contacts in a smooth and convenient way.
Cons
Something that gets a bit annoying is being signed out whenever the app updates although after logging back in everything returns to normal.
