“Easy collaborations”
Pros
One thing I really value about this product is its sharing feature. It lets me send unlimited files and folders to multiple people anywhere in the world within seconds which is incredibly useful. Another part that has been especially valuable is how easily I can receive materials through the app making it much more effective for me to put together marketing programs.
Cons
It has been very helpful for handling daily communication tasks without any trouble. Being able to keep collaborative projects moving and finish them within a set timeframe has honestly been a huge advantage for me. I genuinely have no complaints about it.

“fast setup and familiar chat flow”
Pros
Getting it up and running was surprisingly quick. I had the installation done, SSL configured and the server live within an hour, all without dealing with a long list of Linux commands. It also comes with built-in support for Jitsi video calls and notifications which is really useful. Also, the interface feels a lot like Slack so my team was able to get comfortable with it right away.
Cons
A few small things could still be polished. The message quoting feature could be clearer visually since it doesn't stand out enough right now. Video calls also don't ring inside the app and only show a button to join so people sometimes miss them. Another minor issue on Windows is that if the app is running in the background, launching it again from the Start Menu doesn't bring it to the front so you have to open it from the notification tray instead. Other than that, the issues are pretty minor and trivial overall. The software feels very stable and is very easy to use.

So this software has been really helpful for me and my team especially when it comes to improving our communication.
Cons
Installing it through GitHub and getting everything set up the first time is difficult.

“amazing open-source chat tools”
Pros
Being open source makes this a really flexible option and getting it deployed and customized is pretty easy. It also supports integrations well through webhooks and Twilio's API, plus the live chat widget for websites is a very useful addition.
Cons
The iOS app still has a few minor quirks although it works well overall. Signing up for and accessing the its cloud marketplace could be more user friendly and it's a bit disappointing that the marketplace requires a paid plan.

Cons
Honestly haven't come across anything I dislike about it.

“fantastic for team messaging”
Pros
Being free to use is a huge plus and it works really well for sharing files. I also get email notifications for every message which helps a lot when I miss something. Since it's open source, that's another big advantage and it feels much better than sending emails back and forth with colleagues. The fact that you can host it on your own server makes it even more useful.
Cons
One small issue is that when the desktop app is already running in the background, it doesn't always open from the shortcut icon. Other than that, there's really nothing to dislike about the app.

“Cuts meeting time”
Pros
Monthly meetings take up much less of my time now which means I spend less time sitting in meetings and more time actually getting work done.
Cons
Sharing a file with other team members is still really difficult for me.

“10/10 product”
Pros
I love that i can create channels and assign admins and users and that is a big plus. It works really well and I also appreciate that it can be hosted locally and connected to workgroup usernames.
Cons
Nothing to complain about, it handles exactly what we need and we plan to keep using it.

“Interface is nice”
Pros
It's quick to use, feels user friendly and the interface makes day-to-day work much simpler for anyone using it regularly.
Cons
What's missing is the ability to edit a message after it's been sent in a private chat.

“Outdated look!”
Pros
As a basic speech app, it works really well and does exactly what it's supposed to do.
Cons
The interface feels like an old, sleazy internet cafe program and there's no way to view detailed information about people.

“great chat for work and personal use”
Pros
Really well put together and gives you a lot of options to work with. It fits company use perfectly but it also works very well for personal use.
Cons
I'm not happy with the mobile app. It does exist already but it doesn't perform the way it should.

“Easy to customize”
Pros
There are excellent customization options that let any company tailor the chat experience to match how they want it to perform.
Cons
Making changes is hard to test without relying on trial and error. It is not clear which settings affect which areas when adjusting fonts, colors, styles and formatting. Also, an update ended up crashing the program on my Windows 10 system and I had to roll back to an earlier version to get it working again.

“strong open-source slack alternative”
Pros
It feels like one of the best alternatives to Slack. It combines the long-term reliability of open-source software with the quick pace of updates and adoption you usually get from a commercial cloud-based product.
Cons
Per-user pricing is still too expensive for a chat platform and the limits on push notifications create issues for mobile user support. A different pricing model would definitely be welcome.

Pros
A big plus for me is the strong focus on security and encryption. It also works well in a client-server setup which makes it a very reliable option.

“feature-rich with solid mobile apps”
Pros
They do have a wide range of functionality here, along with plenty of configuration and integration options. The mobile apps are also well made and work reliably when I'm away from my desk.
Cons
One recurring issue is that the automatic upgrades often fail, as mentioned in the overall experience. The admin panel can also be somewhat complicated to set up and configure.

Cons
In the end I managed to turn on direct mode but I'm still wondering where the WebRTC support is for private groups.

Really impressed by the feature set, how simple it is to use and the overall UI design.

I'd just like a bit more control over certain admin features in the hosted version.

Pros
Covers everything I need, costs less than Slack and the custom integrations with other services are really useful.

“Pocket friendly tool”
Pros
Compared with tools like Slack or Teams, this option is incredibly affordable for a business. It also gives you a ton of flexibility when it comes to customizing permissions.
Cons
It still lacks some of the polish you get with platforms like Slack. Notification settings can be a bit finicky and the settings and preferences are not always easy for users to understand. Another concern is that anyone with our URL can technically sign up at any time so we keep our public rooms locked to avoid exposing information. Even from an admin perspective, the sheer number of settings can feel overwhelming sometimes.
