Great for instant project costs
Pros

I love how I can get project costs immediately after submitting a field log. This is the quickest and most precise field tracking software I've ever used. We can easily monitor a project's daily performance without any hassle. The reporting features are fantastic as well. B2W provides plenty of reports to use, and if none suit your needs, they'll definitely find you a workaround.

Cons

I think some of the standard reports could use an update for Excel exports.

Pros

It's incredibly simple to navigate, making it accessible even for those who are not tech-savvy, and it seamlessly integrates with electronic field logs. This integration ensures that all data is consistently updated and easily accessible, streamlining our workflow and enhancing overall efficiency.

Custom Properties and the add-in to export out the field logs are very useful.

I can't customize the reports, and the future employee timecard app does not integrate into the daily field log.

Track Review
Pros

It's easy to navigate. It also resembles our old time sheet, which helped with the initial integration.

Cons

True-Up is a bit more challenging to use than I anticipated (though it might be due to my own actions). I wish there were a better way to view cost versus revenue.

Cougar Companies Review of B2W Track
Pros

Our PMs, Superintendents, and Foremen use this product daily. At the end of each week, I review projects, and with the correct information entered, this is a simple way to track work in progress (WIP) for our accountants.

Cons

Training is a bit more difficult, and setting up Track took a lot of time. It would be great if I could enter a laborer or equipment in Estimate and not have to duplicate that in Track.

B2W Helps Family Company Grow
Pros

It's easy to use, the products are mobile, and supervisors can manage their time better using mobile devices in the field.

Cons

Without support, the program won't get any updates, which will eventually make the mobile program outdated and unable to communicate with the home server.

Success with Track!
Pros

Track allowed for customization to fit our specific trade and our unique company setup with multiple divisions, each handling daily operations slightly differently. We eliminated paper and spreadsheet data and created a one-stop shop for our foremen. Custom properties were crucial in our development. From the foreman's perspective, the interface is easy to navigate and provides access to more project information.

Cons

Right now, the biggest issue is that the app is not finished, and I haven't seen a timeline for when a one-off crew person can submit time. Once that's done, automating payroll will save a lot of time and benefit both users and the company. Specifically, there are still problems with start/stop times and inaccuracies when copying logs. I reported it as a support issue and was told it's a known problem, but it's a frequent complaint from our foremen. Another issue they have is with photos on field logs and the inability to select multiple pictures at once. That would save them a lot of time. (I'd be happy to discuss the start/stop and picture issues with someone if they want to reach out!)

B2W Track - Production and Time Tracking
Pros

Track is an intuitive system that lets us capture more information from the field more easily than our previous system. The software is easy to navigate. When training users, the biggest challenges are defining internal terms, but the software itself is easy to teach. The custom properties offer flexibility in capturing information.

Cons

I don't have any major issues with the software. I'd prefer to use it on a computer rather than the mobile app, but many of my users really like the app. The software relies heavily on network connectivity.

Function Product That Can Be Tailored To Your Needs
Pros

The easy-to-navigate aspect of this program was the selling point for our company. Even someone who doesn't use the program daily can grasp the major functions without needing extensive training refreshers. Beyond this, the programs can be customized to gather information important to your company. The customer service is great, and I've yet to meet an unfriendly person in their company. We're very happy with their product, though there's always room for improvement.

Cons

I genuinely feel that our problems with this program are largely our own fault. We have not taken the steps needed to integrate our accounting software. One reason we switched from our previous software was the True-Up function. I think different security settings could allow more tailored user access, like letting foremen enter material costs without seeing equipment and labor costs. I've sent all my concerns to the Idea center, and I believe they're working on adding these features to the program.

B2W Track Means Progress!
Pros

B2W Track is a powerful tool. Going electronic has many cost-saving efficiencies. No more paper reports, no more repetitive entries, more accurate information reported instantly, and less administrative effort needed, which all result in cost savings.

Cons

The Track component needs an Owner/Subcontract Billing/Pay Tracking feature. This would enhance Track as a complete Management tool.

AVL Construction Tracking
Pros

One-stop reporting. One location (iPad) where you can do everything with up-to-date information.

Cons

Integration was met with a lukewarm reception. Reports are not customized but are general. Once in the tracking list, the tracking ID doesn't identify the unit until you go into it. I have one manager responsible for two units, and there's a lot of repetitive data entry, especially on the mobile side.

Information today and not at the end of the week
Pros

Providing today's field information today instead of at the end of the month. Integrated directly with our existing accounting system. Operational on both tablets and PCs.

Cons

Like any new software installation with existing system integration, there are always challenges. However, B2W's support has made tackling these challenges as smooth as possible.

Complicated data collection, disappointed in the reporting, disappointed that ONE does not really mean one software platform - it means two.
Pros

We like the concept of having one platform for estimating, scheduling, forms, and timesheet data. We also like the SQL database.

Cons

We've had to rely on Power BI and in-house reporting to support our accounting reviews and production reporting. We manually maintain two equipment lists, one in Estimate and one in Track. B2W has leapfrogged HCSS with their software model, but they risk being leapfrogged themselves by another system that offers a 100% SaaS model with a no-contract, per-user subscription.

Great tool for business management, needs some tweaks on the reporting to tell the truth.
Pros

The ability to stay on top of daily labor and equipment is great. Exporting from Estimate to Track is quick and easy. Change order tracking works well. This program is an excellent tool to assist management.

Cons

Sometimes the screens change slowly. We use the cost detail report often, but it doesn't provide the full picture. The prorated action is used, but not all tracking accounts should be prorated, so PMs might think they're under budget when the tracked unit should only be prorated to 100%. The report needs to allow choosing individual tracking accounts to prorate to 100% on some and fully prorate others. Overall, it's a great tool, but adjusting actual costs on T&M materials is challenging. Being able to manually enter a revenue and cost on the field log and apply a percentage markup might be a better option.

Pros

The ability to monitor projects, keep track of equipment use, and labor hours for payroll and tracking pay items accounts is very useful.

Cons

A full-time IT person is needed for training and updates. The integration of accounts from Estimate into Track should be addressed during initial training to avoid hours of trial and error.

Track Review
Pros

The ability to track projects in real-time and quickly get information to the foremen in the field. Using Track for employee time cards and the capability for employees to have a secure login to see their time and hours and sign off on them.

Cons

B2W Track Software - Review
Pros

It's an extremely easy-to-use program. Those with limited computer skills can, with little guidance, navigate and utilize the program efficiently.

Cons

One issue is that setting up equipment involves two steps: first entering the equipment in one area and then going to the Equipment Rate Class section to add unit costs. It would be simpler if there were a One Stop Shop where I could enter equipment and unit costs on the same screen.
