ability to share info in real time

Pros

For our crew, timekeeping and scheduling are the tools we use most. I also really value being able to add and share information instantly and to decide exactly who gets to see those updates which makes coordinating jobs and keeping everyone in the loop a lot easier.

Cons

Occasionally the app would lock up and I couldn't clock in or out when needed. Other times I'd punch in or out but the app lagged so badly that my action took forever to register and then the time entry wouldn't appear on the clock which caused confusion and missed records.

They introduce new features regularly

Pros

Once you get the hang of it, I find it's really simple to use. The team keeps rolling out new features on a regular basis. They also respond quickly and effectively whenever problems pop up.

Cons

Getting in touch with customer support could be more simple. I find access to help a bit clunky. The setup process itself was challenging, though I recognize that's more on me than on them. Early on I had to be more proactive and push subcontractors to adopt the system and it also took time for me personally to learn and integrate it into my workflow.

Huge timesaver

Pros

I've seen our estimating time drop right away by roughly a third and it keeps getting shorter with every subsequent estimate

Cons

My team and I still need the ability to assign to-dos to several team members at the same time

Glad I chose it!

Pros

After spending a couple of months testing a wide range of project management tools while trying to find the best option for the lowest cost, I discovered that the perfect cheap solution rarely exists. It stood out to me right away. It offers most of the features you'd expect from high-end systems and far more than the packages aimed at the tech industry. In the end, although it represented a significant price increase compared to what I originally wanted to pay, I'm glad I chose it! They are a fantastic company with exceptional support and literally guided me through the entire setup process (it does take time but every minute was worth it because once everything is configured it becomes much faster and cleaner). I use ClickUp for my personal organization and this for managing my business. If you're like me and are about to spend days searching for a project management system and have some budget to work with, stop right here.

Cons

That said I do feel it's a bit outdated. The UI is actually very clean which I like but it could use a facelift. I also noticed what looks like an .asp foundation. I haven't seen that in over a decade and I suspect that might be a big reason why it can run slower sometimes.

extensive set of features

Pros

I've found it has a wide selection of features that make the construction workflow more organized for example, the documents folder holding all project drawings and specifications is useful. I also really appreciated the Xero integration.

Cons

I've noticed that other platforms offer superior drawing markup tools which in my experience leads to more effective distribution and clearer communication with subcontractors and all other stakeholders involved.

Great for managing multiple projects

Pros

I appreciate that it lets me keep everything including schedules, documents, purchase orders, budgets and more in one place. It offers lots of useful tools that simplify communicating with subcontractors and ensures they receive payments promptly. It's an excellent system for juggling several projects simultaneously and staying organized across them all.

Cons

Although I appreciate the wide array of capabilities, it can feel overwhelming and a bit intimidating. I still haven't uncovered many functions or learned how to use them properly. They do offer guidance and support when you need it which I find useful but because there are so many features I often feel like I'm only scratching the surface and not leveraging the platform as fully as I could.

Unbelievable service

Pros

We can handle more work because this app includes an almost endless array of features. It's extremely easy to use and their customer support is by far superior to any provider I've ever worked with in my experience.

Cons

I find the accounting integration to be quite time consuming. I genuinely don't see this as a flaw, it just comes with the territory when configuring it to function properly. Once you get past this challenge and with the significant help they offer, you're ready to go full speed.

Inconvenient to view jobs

Pros

At 26 years old, I really appreciate how user-friendly the platform is for me. I'm comfortable using a computer and I picked it up without trouble, whereas many of my older colleagues find it more challenging. The site was quick and easy to learn and the practical user functionality is definitely a plus in my experience.

Cons

I don't like that, as an admin, I can see extra job details in some views while my trade partners have to open each job individually just to read the job titles and descriptions. It feels unfair and inefficient because partners are forced to click into every single job to get the same information I can access at a glance.

Helps build transparency

Pros

We find it very simple to monitor our team's progress, their locations, job site photos and contact details, among other things. Project timelines are shared with everyone who needs them and clients can log into their customer portal to view updates which has helped us build transparency and foster greater trust with our customers.

Cons

I don't always find the interface user-friendly when I'm trying to locate things but they keep releasing updates and provide a huge range of training materials and tutorials to help users get up to speed.

easy to build proposals and sync with QuickBooks

Pros

Once all of my templates, specs and trade partners are filled in, I find it really simple to put together professional-looking proposals, quickly send and manage RFPs, keep close tabs on jobs and have everything sync with QuickBooks.

Cons

One thing I'd really like is a more capable estimate tool that shows 'Cost to Complete.' In QuickBooks there's a report that tells me how my costs are tracking against the construction schedule and having that kind of visibility inside this software would be hugely helpful for staying on top of budget versus schedule. Another pain point is document handling. I wish I could tick a box on an uploaded file so it appears in multiple relevant sections. For example, when I upload a PDF into the bids area, it would save me time if it could also be linked automatically to the matching selections section instead of having to upload it again. Right now I'm duplicating effort by adding the same file in two places. If a bid request is tied to a spec, the system should offer the option to attach the bid in both spots so things stay organized without extra steps.

accurate cost and time estimates

Pros

Cost and time estimates are very accurate which makes planning simpler. Being able to schedule jobs in advance really helps with coordination across teams and I appreciate that they offer a customer portal that makes it simple for clients to ask questions or submit requests.

Cons

We can't tag other team members directly so our conversations end up requiring a lot of back-and-forth messages and extra steps to keep everyone in the loop.

Dedicated folders for client details

Pros

I really appreciate being able to sort every client's details into dedicated folders. Includes things like their email, phone number and mailing address. It has made keeping everything organized and easy to find.

Cons

Honestly I don't have many complaints. Occasionally when I access the site on my phone I can't use the clip tray feature and I'm limited to pasting into certain fields.

Helpful for managing multiple construction projects

Pros

We had been urgently looking for a single platform to oversee all of our construction projects. We're now in the early stages of implementing it and so far everything has been going well.

Cons

Being a non-profit, many of the features aren't relevant to our work. I wish that someday they would offer a version customized specifically for organizations like Habitat for Humanity so those tools would better match our needs.

Gives us visibility into everything

Pros

Cons

Pros

I find it simple to use and extremely capable. When I need accurate job costing and QuickBooks doesn't cover that need, this is the application I turn to and recommend to others.

Cons

There's almost nothing I dislike and when I pair it with QBO it comes incredibly close to being flawless.

amazing for managing info

Pros

Primarily I rely on it for scheduling, information management, budgeting and team communication. Over the last ten years I've used it on and off and consistently found it user-friendly and simple to use.

Cons

The circular dependency behavior is easily the biggest issue I face. I'm constantly forced to work around it by removing schedule items from their categories, assigning predecessors and then moving those items back into their original categories.
