“With Foundation, project managers dont have to rely on others to get the reports they need.”
Pros
It has enabled us to centralize all project-related documents. I dont have to keep anything I use every day on my computer because the software keeps everything in the database that relates to the project. This means anyone from my project team can go directly to the PM software to get an update instead of waiting for me to come online, and vice versa. I was able to do most things myself, but I had help whenever I needed it.
Cons
It has a fully working mobile app but lacks the reports that our management requires to handle our job locations. Theres also a lot of navigation required to figure things out, which adds to the total time spent.

“No after sale support, cloud based servers down often”
Pros
I find the software relatively easy to use and understand compared to other accounting systems.
Cons
I find the after-sale customer support absolutely terrible. Call-backs after logging a support request typically occur 2 to 3 days later and the support staff seem grossly incompetent with only a marginal understanding of the software functions.

“Accounting, but nothing more”
Pros
Foundation electronically routes vendor invoices to the appropriate associates, which greatly improves efficiency. The system allows you to create your own job numbering system or generates one for you, making it easy to track jobs by numbers. It effectively manages all construction project accounting information.
Cons
The system is quite similar to Microsoft Access. Searching for construction projects is only possible by the job number; other search criteria require creating a list or report, exporting it, and then filtering it. Standard reports don't provide the necessary information, so one must become adept at creating custom reports or pay Foundation to do it. The Project Management Module is terrible, and the Dispatch Module is acceptable but has some quirks. Foundation consistently charges more for each module that improves the system, and each module takes you further away from the original system, which is strange. Adding a new client is a convoluted process where you enter the client, then enter the client's billing address through a different selection, and finally, go back to the client record to connect the billing address. It's an odd workflow.

“I used to LOVE Foundation Customer Support.....Used to!!!!”
Pros
I started using Foundation in 2015 at my previous company, and I absolutely loved it. The customer support was excellent, with prompt callbacks and fantastic videos that made everything interesting and easy to understand. When I took over the office for my current company, it took some time to convince my boss to switch from Sage to Foundation due to the higher cost. However, I explained the significant benefits, and finally, I got the green light. I was incredibly excited to have Foundation back, especially because of the exceptional customer service I knew I would receive.
Cons
The implementation process has been dreadful! The customer service response time has been a nightmare, far from what I was expecting. Initially, the training sessions were scheduled weekly, but they started canceling my meetings more frequently. After expressing some frustration in an email to a different trainer in my group, I was never put on the calendar for training again, and I wasn't even informed of the decision. I didn't receive month end close training or bank reconciliation training. Today, I had to submit a service call at 1 PM PST because my project in HQ is not in the cloud, preventing me from sending an RFI with attachments that need to be addressed tomorrow. I was told I'm first in line for a call back. Fast forward to 3 PM PST when I followed up, and I was informed that the next available representative would call me. It's currently 4:41 PM PST, and I still haven't received a call back. I don't even have an account manager I can contact to resolve the issues because my implementation support has been unhelpful. I'm truly disappointed and even embarrassed that I suggested this software to my owner.

“Very poor for anything with sales - we have aggregate sales.”
Pros
For my specific use, I don't find anything appealing about it.
Cons
Dealing with aggregate sales and billing for hauling to customers, I find the software to be unfriendly and challenging. Importing scale system information is difficult, and the invoicing process requires an excessive number of steps.

“Good software for construction”
Pros
Foundation's job cost integration for cost analysis and the capability to integrate with build to win and bid to win software are valuable features.
Cons
It would be helpful if the software included certain basic functions, such as the ability to control retainage in unit price billing and create estimates. This feature is critical for calculating 10% or the first 50% on contract calculations. Additionally, the ability to change the client's name for a job, especially when the LLC initiating the job undergoes a name change, would be beneficial.

“AMAZING Software”
Pros
Everything about Foundation is exceptional! The support and knowledge of their employees are unparalleled. They are extremely professional and polite, always updating the system to improve efficiency and providing shortcuts that save time. They offer numerous opportunities to learn more about the software through videos, online calls, and in person classes.
Cons

“Customer Support”
Pros
We mainly utilize Foundation for accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll. It's easy to use, although there are many functions we still haven't explored. I'm sure if I took the time to learn the other areas, it would make my life easier and reports more accurate and efficient. The best part is the customer support. Whenever I make mistakes, they always come through and fix them!
Cons
At the moment, I can't think of any cons for this software.

“Joseph M Zimmer”
Pros
We absolutely love the customer support. Whenever we log a call, we have someone on the phone within an hour, ready to help us solve our problems.
Cons
We have a contractor who insists on using their own version of AIA for billing, which has been modified to force everyone to use it. It would be great if Foundations could add this contractor's version to the dropdown menu.

“Foundation is great for mid size contractors”
Pros
We appreciate the software because it allows project managers to view costs and review job details in ways that other accounting software couldn't do.
Cons
We would appreciate being able to utilize lien waivers or contract/PO templates in a more user friendly format. Due to the software's lack of user friendliness, we have to handle these processes outside of the software. It would also be helpful if we could schedule call backs instead of waiting for a callback at a potentially inconvenient time.

“Outstanding Product”
Pros
The ease of use is impressive. When I joined the business, the software was already in use, and I had to teach myself how to navigate it. Whenever I didn't understand something, all it took was a phone call to receive help. The associates were friendly and knowledgeable, guiding me through everything I needed to know. If there was something I needed the software to do that it couldn't, a simple phone call would get someone working on it, making it happen. For example, we used to manually enter data into a spreadsheet for sales tax reports, but they helped me set it up to pull data directly from Foundation. It saved me hours of work and eliminated errors. I can't praise the staff at Foundation enough for their incredible support.
Cons
The only thing I haven't figured out yet is how to incorporate our subcontract agreement into Foundation so that the software can handle it automatically instead of doing it manually. It's not a con; I just haven't figured it out yet. Overall, I haven't found any cons for this software.

“User of Foundation for 14 1/2 yrs.”
Pros
Foundation is quite intuitive. I use it for eight of my companies, primarily in the construction industry. It provides all the necessary reporting and tracking features. Currently, I'm utilizing the GL, AR, AP, PR, and Job Costing modules. Over the years, I've encountered complex situations in the reporting area, but Foundation was always there to help me set things up according to my needs.
Cons
I can confidently say that theres nothing I don't like about this software.
