Over the years I've tried many programs and I genuinely appreciate how simple and uncluttered MeasureSquare feels. I've tested lots of options and to me it's one of the top choices when it comes to ease of use and overall functionality.

I find the quantity-taking workflow excellent but after that point I struggle with managing overhead and profit margins, those percentage controls feel like they need refinement. I also think the quote-creation steps and how the final quote looks visually could use improvement.

Pros

I really appreciate how responsive the company is to customers' needs. That's the biggest plus for me. I found the software simple and fast to pick up. The job summaries and wall-tile elevation views are clear and easy to follow and it integrates with Spec-Intel.

Cons

I wish the totals were calculated so each tab computes on its own first and then those subtotals are automatically added together.

Pros

We love their forward-thinking mindset and the way their team is always looking for better ways to use the software. The estimating tool we relied on before MeasureSquare was basically unchanged for about 15 years but over the two years we've been using this I've noticed clear improvements. In fact, they actively seek our feedback and ideas and often follow up with updates that make the product more useful for our day-to-day work.

I only have one complaint, the system is very powerful and packed with so many functions that I often don't realize everything it can do. Because of that, we sometimes miss useful capabilities simply because they aren't obvious or easy to discover.

Using the worksheet and product database, I can quickly generate professional, accurate estimates and keep all my projects organized. I genuinely consider this software an absolute must-have tool.

The challenge is getting up to speed on all the program's little features and then putting them into practice.

I find it fairly simple to get a feel for how everything functions in the program. Being able to tweak material sizes and colors, adjust waste factors and customize drawing lines and their colors is something I really appreciate.

I'm really frustrated by how the program keeps snapping me to specific points while I'm tracing a floor plan. Rather than landing where I intend, it forces me to constantly zoom in to select the exact spot on a line I want to click because the software keeps jumping to a point I don't want. It ends up wasting a ridiculous amount of time. Another major time sink, when I'm importing prints I have to scale each page one by one. There's no way to scale an entire multi-page set at once which is a pain. It would also be great if we could create floating corner benches or seats inside showers in 3D. At the moment that's the sole reason I can't rely on this program for 3D work. We'd absolutely love to consolidate everything into one app for all our drawing needs instead of juggling two different programs!

Grateful for the shared database because it means we don't have to recreate the same materials over and over again.

One problem I ran into is that the grout width throws off the calculations which can be frustrating.

I've found this product very easy to learn, with a shallow learning curve and it stays out of the way when I'm trying to concentrate on completing my takeoffs. Helpful tips pop up along the bottom of the screen to guide me through the commands that apply to whatever task I'm working on so I don't have to hunt through menus or remember every function.

I wish it could integrate with our bookkeeping software to make putting together estimates a lot simpler.

It's simple to pick up and use. I think it's considerably more flexible than a lot of other software I've used.

I've noticed a few bugs. The math isn't consistently trustworthy for example, the flash cove calculation can be off. Also, the program sometimes defaults to assumptions that aren't transparent which can lead me to underestimate values.

I'm really impressed by how much training material is available. For instance, there's a whole YouTube channel full of training and how-to videos that I can work through at my own pace.
