If you already have their other software, getting this one is a smart move. Just like the salesperson says, you can track your rewards (profit), get accurate takeoffs, and submit everything on time. All of this is pretty much true.
Cons
The salesperson can sometimes come across as aggressive, pushing you to make a purchase immediately, which is not the best approach, especially with a significant amount of money involved. The initial bids are often inaccurate, and you may end up making the final adjustments yourself. While there's a support team available to assist, the cost of training is another expense, and the training time is insufficient. It would be better if they reduced that cost.

The software just works!! It sounds so unreal, but it's not! We tried two other estimation tools before ViewPoint, and they were slow, poorly designed, and the support was awful! ViewPoint is completely different. The support is amazing, and their trainers genuinely care about making sure you learn the software well. I've never encountered better trainers or more knowledgeable tech support. These guys are too good!
Cons
I can't think of a single drawback to ViewPoint MEP Estimating. It offers excellent value for the money! It's not cheap, but it's definitely a worthwhile investment for me and my company.

Problems can occur with any software, but the support team responds quickly and fixes issues promptly.

This program has a lot of features...if you have a degree in computer engineering. It's quicker than doing a takeoff by hand. Pat, the trainer we had, was excellent! Extremely helpful and available to answer any question at any time, way better than the customer help center.
Cons
The program is quite expensive, and on top of that, additional money is required for training, which doesn't cover all the necessary information to run the program. The salesperson we dealt with was nice but very pushy. Post-purchase customer service is lacking.

Cons
There are too many clicks and too many windows to open to reach a specific area. It feels like there are too many steps to complete a single task.

We introduced the software to our Estimating Department over 20 years ago, and we've trusted it ever since. Even with technology evolving, we continue to rely on Viewpoint Software for its accuracy and efficiency with bids. I think part of our success with the software is due to the excellent support from the technical staff. They're always there when you need them!
Cons
It's a good product for small jobs but doesn't seem suited for multi-million dollar estimates. Maybe I'll change my mind over time.

The vendor seems unable to make improvements or fix bugs within the program. They usually just say they've never seen the issue before and blame something unrelated. If there are any errors, it's always considered your fault.

The Earthwork app doesn't work well with CAD files and some of the automatic features for image files, like the go function, don't work properly because they need perfect digital files.
