Pros

Its been about three years my company has been using this software and so far it is the best software for generating accurate reports.

Cons

It needs to allow us to import 3D CAD surfaces as that is something our line of work needs a lot.

Their support has to be the number one feature, hands down the best when it comes to needing help. The software itself is not hard to learn either.

The only setback is perhaps the fact that getting info from the software and into the workstream can be improved by a lot.

It has a better feature that is line tracking, graphics arent too bad either.

It can give too many processing errors sometimes and it can really push back the work speed.

For someone as simple as me, this software is amazing. The support system goes out of their way to make sure your job gets done.

After I have all of the data entered correctly the reports the program produces are impressively comprehensive and packed with useful detail.

There's a shortage of online help resources so whenever I'm trying to figure out how to perform a specific task I usually end up having to pick up the phone and call their customer support line.

Personally I find the software user-friendly and easy to understand. The support team is extremely helpful, performing job reviews whenever I need them.

I'd like to see improved capability for importing broken contour lines. I'm asking you to develop a better more reliable method to import broken vector contours.

With this software I can quickly import my construction drawings into the application and easily change the resolution of the plans I bring in.

I would love a 'snap-to' tool that lets me select major elevation stations right where they intersect the 10-foot stations because it would speed up layout work.

I find it very accurate and the app was simple to download and let me get started quickly.

Personally I'd like to see the material library expanded to include more resources.

It is pretty simple to use. If I step away from it for a while I can come back and get up to speed quickly. The help and support team have also been outstanding.

Well I found the interface anything but user-friendly. I struggled to make sense of how it works.

I love that I can import designs directly from PDFs or CAD files. It's saved me so much time and their tech support has been fantastic every time I've needed help.

What annoys me is that I can't enlarge the Answer List window to see more at once which makes it awkward to work through long sets of answers.

I've found the platform really simple to use and whenever I face an issue I can contact a representative almost instantly for assistance. Their explanations are clear and easy to follow.

This software is quite userfriendly and their customer support team has been consistently helpful and responsive whenever I've needed assistance.

Unfortunately I have to down-save files because of Civil 3D compatibility problems and that extra step is inconvenient.

I really appreciate that this software works smoothly with many different electronic file types, whether I'm dealing with PDFs or AutoCAD files. The renderings it produces are sharp and packed with detail so I find it extremely effective when I need to walk someone else through a take-off. Making changes for 'what if' scenarios is simple and user-friendly and there are built-in tools that make tasks that used to be a headache much simpler (Alt Plan). On-screen prompts keep me on track during use. The support team has been superb, very knowledgeable about both the product and my industry. Plus it runs smoothly and doesn't bog down my laptop.

To date I haven't identified anything that genuinely needs improvement. More tutorial videos and a bit more depth in the manual would be welcome though neither of those things has caused me any trouble because the support team has been exceptional and quick to help whenever I've needed them.

What really stands out to me is how much time this software saves when I'm calculating cut and fill volumes. The takeoff reporting is useful and I like the drawings it generates from my takeoffs for reviewing my work. Entering data feels simple and customer support has been responsive.

Cons

At the moment I don't have any cons to report. I just need more time with the software to become fully familiar with it.

Having used this I'm really impressed by the setup and training support I got. The software is fairly simple to operate and provides useful insights. There are a few workaround steps I occasionally forget but I expect those temporary workarounds will be addressed in upcoming releases.

My main frustration is that I have trouble recalling a few of the workarounds. Specifically I can't remember the steps to create respread regions from a void.

Pros

It's simple to use. I was able to get going on almost the very first job I tried the program on. The support team is among the best I've come across. Roctek will train as many people as you need trained and they're always ready to step in and help you through tricky spots. Having dealt with lots of customer support teams, I can say their responsiveness and assistance rank as high as any I've experienced.

Sometimes I find the editing tools a bit confusing and the on-screen graphics don't always clarify what's happening. I tend to think that's more a reflection of my own unfamiliarity than a flaw in the software itself though.

What I love most is that I can work with a digitizer directly on PDF blueprints instead of having to use paper.

There's no way to access it remotely, a physical license fob is required to run the software on any other machine. I split time between home and the office so I'm constantly trying to remember to bring the dongle with me and if I forget I'm locked out of my files until I'm back at that particular computer.

Pros

I appreciate that the program offers multiple methods to arrive at the quantities I need. The 3-D Viewer helps me visualize the project and I value being able to print graphical versions of estimates to attach to my bid submissions. Their technical support has been excellent and they've adjusted to the way I prepare bids. While there are plenty of basic takeoff tools out there, they often won't provide the depth I want from a true quantity estimating package. Quantity estimating software keeps changing and Roctek seems to be continually keeping pace with those developments.

Cons

My reports don't look polished and I often end up reformatting exported data into spreadsheets to extract the details I require but at least necessary information is still there.
