“User-friendly solution”

What stands out to me is the simplicity and precision. It's been constructed really well and works perfectly for civil takeoffs.

Pros

I've been impressed by how well it handles different file formats, letting me work with our current document types without having to convert anything. It also makes it simple to digitize site data and turn those records into measurable, client-ready information that we can actually use.

Cons

It does take a bit of time to get comfortable with the interface but after learning the basics it opens up a lot of practical functionality and makes the tool much more usable.

“Would recommend!”

Pros

Found their customer support staff to be incredibly helpful and genuinely knowledgeable, not only about the software itself but also about broader site work and project setups. They do more than just troubleshoot the program. They actually help you plan and get a project up and running. They understand tight deadlines, respect my schedule and are willing to collaborate to meet time frames. Because of that hands-on, flexible approach, I would strongly recommend this software to others.

“Logical interface”

It's quite user-friendly and I find that many of the workflows can be worked out or picked up quickly simply by taking a logical approach to how I would enter different elements of the job site into the system.

I don't have any complaints about the product right now. Since I'm new to this category of software, I currently lack any real criticisms or negative feedback to offer.

“Reliable system”

Pros

It quickly computes cut and fill volumes with reliable accuracy and it also generates 3D models that display the contours both before and after work.

Cons

I find it weak when it comes to estimating site services and rock excavation accurately for my projects and importing PDFs is a headache so I usually end up inputting data by hand.

Pros

Right away I felt like an expert using WinEx. The layout is quite user-friendly and I found the program very easy to use almost immediately.

Honestly getting hold of customer support wasn't the easiest though I only had to reach out just once during my first week using the program which was manageable.

Its packed with features that really help me produce precise takeoffs and the tech support has been very responsive and useful.

When I switch the settings to extremely high density, the process can take an annoyingly long time to complete and honestly I can't think of any other downsides based on my experience.

As someone new to estimating, I find this program simple to use and their customer support is outstanding! For the price point, it includes excellent features.

I haven't come across any drawbacks so far. Overall I'm impressed and feel it's a well-rounded program that could grow alongside my company.

There are a lot of great features and the interface keeps things simple. I found customer support to be wonderful, ironically that became part of the issue since I ended up spending far too much time working with them because the program's logic was hard to grasp.

Cons

The snap feature is terrible and entering data lines or contour information feels unclear and awkward. Bringing drawings into the program is hard, I can't add annotated lines directly and the cut-and-fill visuals are very basic. The output file summary shows up with strange logic across too many sheets and the training videos are out of date.

I feel like this software delivers strong value for what I paid and it has really boosted our confidence in the accuracy of our takeoff quantities,

Cons

We'd appreciate a larger library of training videos we could consult whenever questions come up because having those tutorials on hand would reduce how often we'd need to pick up the phone and call support.

“Outstanding reports”

Pros

When it's time to make executive decisions I rely on business reports it creates. The output is customized for top-level decision-makers and packed with high-quality information. If I pair this with an outstanding takeoff team we're winning projects before long!

Cons

There are plenty of useful features but it's not very user-friendly. I usually need expert assistance to truly unlock the product's capabilities.

“Justifies the investment”

Pros

The onscreen takeoff feature is excellent and I also appreciate being able to work with vector files. Overall this program gives me a lot of value for the money.

“friendly interface with helpful organization”

I'm impressed with how user-friendly the interface is and the way the program's features are organized makes sense, everything was simple to learn and pick up quickly. The line-tracker proved invaluable whenever I couldn't import certain line work, saving me time and frustration. Their tech support deserves praise too. After I reached out for help during a large takeoff they actually called back a few days later to follow up and make sure the job was moving along smoothly. I also appreciated that there was no high-pressure sales approach. They let the product do the convincing and even extended my trial so I could finish the takeoff.

“Cost-effective option”

Pros

For my needs, the product does exactly what it's supposed to do. I find it simple, budget-friendly and reliable in accuracy and their tech support has been outstanding. The Roctek development team listens to feedback and is quick to respond. They genuinely aim to expand the product's capabilities to cover everything I require and then some.

Cons

I would appreciate better integration with Roctek's other applications specifically RoadEx and SoftScale.

“best option for my work”

Pros

It's quick and generally simple to use. It did take me a little while to get the hang of it since I'm not very tech-savvy but once I did I really liked the product and consider it the best option for the kind of work I do.

“Extensive set of features”

Pros

I get valuable technical support that guides me through new tasks. The software is easy to use and packed with great features and reporting. Nearly every capability I can imagine is available to produce project reports, whether I'm at the design phase or during construction.

Cons

Because I don't get enough chances to use the program I sometimes feel a bit out of practice and get rusty with its features.

“Revolutionary product”

Pros

Most of my career has centered on clearing and mass earthwork. I originally learned to create cross-sections and perform all the calculations by hand. Back in the early 90s I was introduced to Paydirt and thought it was amazing but everything changed when I discovered Roctek. I've been using Roctek for almost a year now and the time needed to determine quantities for clearing, earthwork, stormwater, utilities and paving has been reduced by about half. Because it's so quick and user-friendly on screen, it delivers huge overhead savings when establishing quantities and it gives me far more time to thoroughly evaluate a project before I submit a bid thanks to the program's tools.

Cons

There are no downsides that I have noticed.

“Superb tech support”

Pros

I've had excellent tech support from the initial call-in right through to walking me step-by-step through a takeoff question with a technician.

Cons

There are times when it's so detailed that I have to remind myself to stop overanalyzing and deliberately set a limit between being overly picky and obtaining precisely what I need for the bid.

“completes the tasks quickly”

Pros

It completes in minutes tasks that previously took me days and I've found the vendor's support to be excellent and very helpful.

Cons

I find the product a bit awkward to use in certain scenarios and although the vendor's technical support is excellent, I've sometimes had to wait hours before I could get a technician on the line.
