solid support team

Pros

What I like most is how simple it is to use while still packing in a lot of useful features. The support is also really appreciated whenever I needed help, the team was always quick to respond.

Cons

Sometimes it takes a while to load different pages. Last year, for a stretch of time, I was frequently stuck and kept running into errors.

campaign analysis made simple

Pros

The new AI evaluation option has been really great for me. Creating campaign analyses now feels much simpler than before.

Cons

Unfortunately, you can't upgrade individual features only the full package. There are times when it would be handy to buy specific functions separately.

detailed pre arrival sequences

Pros

Automation features let me build a much more detailed pre arrival sequence that automatically sends check in instructions and upsell offers to guests before they even arrive.

Cons

There's a pretty steep learning curve for our front desk team since they need to periodically update guest details. On top of that our property management system's customer support has been slow when we run into technical issues especially those related to API connections.

billing change felt misleading

Pros

I used this for a few years to run my email list and send a newsletter. It did take some getting used to but the learning curve was manageable and the pricing worked out to be fair for the level of service I needed.

Cons

Trying to switch my billing from annual to monthly on the same plan turned into a headache. Their team said my account had been moved from an older model to a new one and that I'd now be paying over 7x my previous cost because the change was considered a "downgrade." On top of that they wanted to add a separate fee just to process the switch. Their explanations kept getting more and more simplified, almost like I was supposed to accept that this was fully reasonable without questioning it.

Smooth integrations

Pros

Great for marketing automation support especially thanks to its advanced AI powered features. The platform also feels well thought out when it comes to connecting with sales and CRM tools. Integrations come together smoothly and make the whole workflow more consistent. There's also a strong personalized element to it. You can customize messages to specific clients so the communication feels targeted instead of generic.

Cons

Feature set is pretty extensive which can be overwhelming for beginners and may require some extra learning time to use it confidently. On top of that the higher tiers are more advanced and expensive and those plans don't feel ideal if you're looking for a more affordable option.

Easy automated follow ups

Pros

Automated workflows let me set up six month follow up sequences that nurture clients while they're waiting on government approval, without feeling like I'm manually tracking everything.

Cons

Has a steep learning curve. Setting up even a basic client pipeline took me a few weeks of working through tutorial videos. On top of that it can be a bit slow when I need to load individual contact records during busy periods.

reliable workflows

Pros

Helps keep communication consistent so I'm not constantly doing manual follow ups to make sure nothing gets missed.

Cons

A few features require some time to get the hang of before they become genuinely useful. I'm happy with everything else though that learning curve is the only sticking point.

Gamechanger for my business

Pros

Turned out to be a big help for my business. After using it for a short while, I was able to create and automate my marketing emails without much hassle.

Cons

Online help needs improvement and feels a bit outdated. Because of that, it can sometimes take longer than expected to fully understand how certain features work.

Lets me focus on technical issues

Pros

I'm using it mainly for quick automation like sending service updates and reminders so customers feel in control while I'm working on fixing the technical issues.

Cons

Deep segmentation and the more advanced features take time to learn and there are times where I worry I'm not getting the most out of everything.

strong email control

Pros

Offers a bunch of built in integrations that fit nicely with our current tech stack so rolling it out was easy and we were able to start seeing results in our workflows pretty quickly. The email management features also give us solid control over our campaigns and over our contacts/prospects.

Cons

We started using it recently and nothing really sticks out as a downside yet. Pricing feels reasonable but I'll know more once we've been using it longer.

Packed with features

Pros

There's a huge range of features packed into this product and it feels like it covers a lot of different needs without making you hunt for what's missing.

Cons

That said, the price is pretty steep especially compared with other options out there.

easy campaign tracking

Pros

This platform offers top notch capabilities for managing and monitoring marketing campaigns that actually drive strong results. Building sales operations data reports is simple and tracking multiple web visitors through the platform works really well. The data integration tools also respond quickly which makes day to day workflows smoother.

Cons

I haven't run into any issues worth calling out with ActiveCampaign. Setup was easy and feature configuration didn't cause any headaches.

Makes it easy to stay on top of everything

Pros

Being able to split contacts across different lists and segment them really precisely using tags has been a game changer for keeping everything organized. It makes it much easier to stay on top of who's where and what they should be getting.

Cons

There are quite a few features I don't end up using since they don't fit my needs. I'd happily switch to a cheaper plan that includes fewer options.

Too complex

Pros

The technical support was usually helpful and competent. That said, the business support side was awful.

Cons

A bunch of problems showed up: 1) the platform comes with a steep learning curve. 2) it feels overpriced for what you get. 3) there's basically no flexibility when it comes to downgrading your plan. 4) the business support team seemed intentionally misleading as they told things that weren't true and they also took forever to respond.

strong automation and docs

Pros

Since using it, the updates feel like a real upgrade and the automation options are pretty solid. There's also really thorough supporting documentation covering all sorts of topics which makes it much easier to get started. On top of that the form designer is a big plus for building and customizing forms quickly.

Cons

Pricing wise, I'd still prefer a cheaper Plus tier. The prices for the other packages are otherwise perfectly fine.

buggy workflow

Pros

It can eventually handle most of the tasks we give it and, once everything is going, email campaigns plus automations do get sent out on time and in a consistent way.

Cons

Building and editing email campaigns is difficult and tracking UTM data through forms is a hassle. Contact list management also feels difficult to handle which makes the whole setup and maintenance more painful than it should be.

Simple to use

Pros

Feels like a modern, cutting edge tool that brings contact management and artificial intelligence together in a way that's genuinely simple to use. It also saves a lot of time when you're writing and setting up campaigns.

Cons

Once your contact list grows, it can get pricey. You'll want to make sure you generate a return on investment fairly quickly which usually means having solid commercial activity from the start.

easier to categorize contacts

Pros

Address management works well and the tabs make it much easier to categorize contacts. The built in automations are solid and delivery/dispatch reliability is good too.

Cons

Occasionally it runs quite slowly. Some windows take a long time to open and email sending can be delayed at times.

User friendly UI

Pros

Support has also been genuinely helpful. I never felt rushed and they took the time to understand what I was running into before suggesting more customized solutions. The automation builder is another strong point, with lots of options and a setup flow that's not overly complicated.

Cons

There's one major problem that blocked me. I created an automation goal meant to check whether a lead visited a specific page on my website which was supposed to tell me if they went on to buy. Even after repeated testing and using the same real goal conditions, the automation never recorded the trigger so leads kept getting the promo emails. I reached out to support multiple times and each time they proposed different troubleshooting steps, none of which fixed it. Eventually, a team member mentioned it was tied to a deeper technical issue on the platform that would take a long time to resolve but I never received follow up updates confirming whether it was actually fixed. I even left comments on their ads and their Facebook page and the replies stayed at "we hear you, we know it's not working and we're working on it," but there was no actual resolution communicated to me. Because this was a core goal trigger that should have functioned reliably, I stopped using that automation (and similar ones). Then they increased my subscription price considerably, citing that there'd been many developments in their system yet they hadn't resolved the basic functionality that mattered most to me. Since I wasn't using those extra features anyway, that left me pretty disappointed. I've since moved to GoHighLevel which gives me far more capabilities in one place and handles the integrations without forcing me to juggle platforms and it's been able to get the goal triggers working the way I need.

ActiveCampaign review

Pros

Automations builder looks good and there's some quick HTML level optimization for emails.

Cons

Our forms stopped capturing leads for four months. Support took days to get back to us and at first they blamed it on a CSS problem. After we pushed them to dig deeper, their technical team said we should've migrated those forms a few months earlier. The catch is that we weren't given any notice or heads up that migration was needed. On top of that we had a lifetime coupon and they removed it which noticeably raised our billing costs. We ended up trying to cancel but they refused to process it unless we went through a "specialized team," which is honestly unacceptable. Performance has been rough overall, with frequent 503 errors especially when using the API. Customer success also tends to bounce you to other teams quickly or switch you over to email to keep things from being resolved in a timely way. Getting the account cancelled turned into a bunch of unnecessary steps and took days.
