“gorgeous tool with a tough setup
Pros
Its incredibly efficient at producing optimized email copy quickly for our digital campaigns. Its data-gathering capabilities really impress me and give the tool a tangible advantage over competing platforms in the space. What I notice first are the interactive social utilities and the beautiful landing page templates that come ready-made. The social options truly steal the spotlight , they plug into emails easyly via the "Forward to a friend" feature. I also love the email quizzes, they make it simple to experiment with different types of content and apply immediate tweaks so the output aligns more closely with what we're after.
Cons
Its hard to use, so you'll almost certainly want some technical help before you get comfortable with all the features. The mandatory API setup adds to the friction and makes the whole onboarding is cumbersome. Although the interface is flexible, its database-oriented layout can be perplexing for new users. Once you're past that initial stage, however things smooth out and the product becomes much easier and more user-friendly.

“Not easy at all
Pros
One thing I really value is the huge user community , I always find someone willing to help whenever I hit a problem. The UI comes across as clean and interactive and the dashboards are easy to read at a glance. For me the reporting tools are the highlight, delivering deeply useful insights that change things.
Cons
It did take me quite a while to get comfortable because its difficlt to use at the beginning , I had to spend time figuring out how all the parts work together. There's no question there's a lot to learn when you first start using every feature and it can be overwhelming at times.

“performance issues
Pros
It runs my engagement and follow-up campaigns smoothly without much effort. I can easily divide my audience into specific groups and regularly create customized experiences for different types of customers.
Cons
It is frustratingly slow for me. The sluggish speed really kills my productivity. And when errors pop up, the messages rarely explain what's wrong, so I'm just left annoyed and trying to guess what happened.

“terrible interface with useless support
Pros
To be honest, my impression is that the interface is dated and is not visually appealing in any way.
Cons
I keep getting 403 errors and other glitches every time I try to edit a landing page. It eats up all my browser's memory and eventually crashes. The worst part is support, they're useless. They say they can't reproduce the issue even after I sent them a video of it happening.

“user friendly for my whole team but very slow
Pros
What I really like about this platform is how easy it is to use. Even though I'm a certified expert, I can still quickly give my team access to view things like contact lists, marketing campaigns and other projects. This keeps everyone updated and able to help with potential customers. The ability to customize our campaigns is fantastic and there are so many ways to set up and manage everything. We've had hardly any technical problems and the campaigns always run smoothly. Since we send out three or four emails every day, I'm very impressed by how reliable and consistent the platform is.
Cons
The biggest issue I deal with is the occasional sluggish performance. We're supposed to be migrated to Orion soon and the rep assures us that the platform will be much snappier once that happens , I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's true. It also seems like the company is layering on more advanced capabilities but frankly they need to push harder on innovation and stay ahead of competitors in that area.

“Essential but frustrating to use
Pros
We rely heavily on the Salesforce integration, it's phenomenal and I don't think our operations could reach this level without it. The way Salesforce ties into Marketo is surprisingly simple and I love that it automatically notifies our sales reps whenever new leads are submitted through our forms, saving us a lot of manual work.
Cons
I run into occasional glitches where the app freezes and I end up repeatedly refreshing my screen which seriously interrupts my momentum and slows down my day. It also bothers me that support requests take such a long time to be addressed, it's really aggravating to be left waiting.

“Great segmentation but very slow loading time
Pros
Data management and campaign nurturing are made easy with Marketo. The smart list and flow builders are invaluable for our team's segmentation efforts and without these automated features our marketing efforts would be less valuable to the company.
Cons
Loading times are sluggish mainly due to the daily creation of numerous campaigns and programs in our company. Integration of our Marketo Database with our CRM while handling massive amounts of data contributes to backlogs. Although this issue is tied to the volume of data there is potential for improvement.

“Central hub for marketing tech
Pros
Honestly, the platform's architecture is very mature and designed for real scalability and I am impressed by how smoothly everything performs under load. Having been part of much smaller automation teams in the past, I can say this system allows us to deliver far more results with far fewer people on the team. The level of functional complexity we can pull off even with a lean group astonishes me. What I particularly appreciate is the breadth of integrations , it effectively becomes the main hub that connects all of our marketing technology and sales technology tools.
Cons
To be honest, I'm still not sure the Adobe acquisition was the best thing for us. It feels like there's a lot more corporate red tape now than before. Even so, I do appreciate that our account reps are still consistently helpful and quick to respond.

“Training that puts you at ease
Pros
I was really relieved by the certification training , I went in pretty nervous but the course's step-by-step format with tests sprinkled throughout made the material much easier to follow. I also value being able to go back and review the content afterward so I can refresh anything I might have forgotten once I completed the certification.
Cons
I passed the test on my first try but just barely. Given how expensive it is, I really think they should include at least one free retake. The exam was very difficult and didn't leave any room for error!

“good for sales
Pros
What I love is how this platform creates a unique experience for users at each step of the buying process. This keeps our registered users interested and makes them feel valued. The experience flows very smoothly, which helps increase our sales over time. I also appreciate how easy it is to start new campaigns and the support team is always excellent when I have questions about the product.
Cons
I think the interface looks old and could use a refresh. It's missing modern design elements and doesn't give enough visual hints to show how things work.

“solid choice for business needs
Pros
Its very user friendly tool and in my experience it gives me very clear insights into what my customers and prospects are truly curious about. No more guessing which topics land , you get actual data showing their preferences. Once I know what someone wants to hear, it becomes far easier to tailor messages for calls or emails.
Cons
Training new staff feels like it takes forever because of all the complicated steps involved even for basic tasks. Mistakes happen constantly while people are still learning the system and I've ended up spending far too much time coaching my team through these processes.

“Handles all digital marketing needs
Pros
I use this platform for all my digital marketing. It brings my email campaigns, web ads and mobile ads together in one place so I can see everything at once. The reporting is very thorough. It gives me detailed information about the leads I collect and clear breakdowns of sales data in easy-to-read tables. Having all this information in one spot makes creating final reports much easier. It also helps me figure out which strategies are working best, so I can attract more customers and improve results every month.
Cons
Honestly, I'm put off by the interface because its dated and doesn't match current design trends. Since the company was bought by a venture capital group known for aggressive cost-cutting, I'm worried about whether they'll keep funding product improvements and new features or if innovation will stall under tighter budgets.

“The best marketing automation system but becoming dated
Pros
Marketo is a robust platform designed to scale. Its flexibility extensive integrations and features empower marketers to orchestrate and automate the execution and tracking of their marketing strategies and campaigns.
Cons
Marketo is seen as lagging behind competitors in innovation with each new feature adding additional costs making it less cost-effective compared to more innovative solutions in the market.

“interactive & easy email tools
Pros
the email tools are incredibly interactive and engaging for my sales outreach. The tracking is top-notch , I can quickly tell who opened my messages, clicked on links and review all activity. That information lets me pinpoint the prospects who are most likely to convert.
Cons
At first our sales team was confused by the lead scoring system. They didn't understand what the scores meant or how to use them. Luckily, our marketing team explained exactly how the scoring works. Once we got leads from Ricoh, that explanation cleared up all our confusion.

“Easy to share with teams
Pros
It's a huge help that I can easily share marketing plans, contact lists and campaign details with my team. This keeps everyone informed and helps us stay competitive. The platform is very flexible for managing campaigns and I find it easy to handle multiple campaigns at the same time. Overall, it runs our marketing work very smoothly.
Cons
It keeps going down at annoying times. It feels like the support team is always just putting out fires instead of fixing the core problems in the system. When things start slowing down, I wish they would work to prevent issues before they happen, instead of just reacting with quick fixes that don't last.

“Powerful but needs some updates
Pros
I'd strongly suggest this for medium and large organizations because it's very capable. The level of customization feels endless, you can handle everything from email campaigns and automation to nurturing sequences, segmentation, form building, landing pages, tracking, A/B testing, webinars and more. What I find most impressive is Marketo Nation, a fantastic community where folks sincerely support one another when you have questions or face any issues.
Cons
interface could definitely use UX work , parts of it simply aren't interactive at all anymore, though. Even after using it nonstop for four years, I'm still finding new ways to accomplish things. Removing assets is such a pain, and we urgently need multi-select functionality. Although it's suitable for smaller teams, the price is for businesses that are just getting started. You don't strictly need one but having a skilled developer genuinely helps you really make the most of the platform. Figuring out Design Studio can be frustrating , it certainly requires some improvement right now. Also, the A/B testing on landing pages could use several improvements.

“awsome customization
Pros
There's a really strong feature set for automating marketing campaigns and communications that impresses me. The flexibility stands out most, together with dependable integrations to the other tools I already use, to boot. The email builder received a useful update with modular components , designing emails is much more flexible now, although getting templates configured initially remains pretty tricky.
Cons
It is hard to learn because it has so many features and the layout can be clunky. I especially had trouble figuring out Smart Campaigns and tracking Program Status, it took a lot of practice before I knew what I was doing. Creating emails that look good on phones really needs improvement. The basic templates are okay but to make them look right, I had to use a separate tool called Litmus. This was a issue because I wanted to use the platform's own shortcuts but editing in two different places was a pain. The landing page builder is also lacking. I still can't easily make landing pages that work well on mobile phones.
