“A great tool for any website

Pros

Not being particularly tech oriented I still find immense value in Beagle Security. The reports it generates are fantastic. I perform a monthly scan of my website and can send those reports to my developer to address any identified threats. After that I can run another scan to confirm the issues have been resolved.

Cons

There is nothing I dislike. I believe it is excellent just as it is.

This product is excellent I am pleased to have it as it is already assisting us in improving our security swiftly and efficiently. The setup and usage are very easy and the reporting is outstanding.

Cons

Some features are challenging to grasp for those who are not professionals, such as the API audit. There are still some bugs like failing to recognize a domain name for verification.

Having used Beagle Security for a few months I am genuinely pleased. I faced numerous issues with insecure websites which forced me to check them manually after every update. With Beagle Security I no longer need to stress. I can conveniently check for website vulnerabilities at my leisure. This tool also saves me a significant amount of time and money since I do not need to perform manual checks and updates anymore.

Cons

I wanted to analyze a website that I do not own but I was unable to do so without FTP access or DNS to prove ownership.

Alternatively I can upload a file add a TXT record or use server commands. Once the test begins the level of analysis is extensive. My website and server are thoroughly examined for various vulnerabilities. The testing spans a couple of days and is quite resource-intensive for my server. I operate a small VPS with 2GB RAM and I notice the CPU usage spikes from 1% to 90% during testing. Uptime monitoring indicated that my website experienced brief downtimes for a few seconds whereas I typically maintain 100% uptime. This indicates serious penetration testing and analysis rather than superficial checks. Upon completion I receive a detailed report categorizing vulnerabilities as Critical High Medium Low or just Informational. I gain an immediate overview of my site's security status complete with a score and color-coded issues. I find this overall perspective extremely valuable allowing me to delve into each issue for more information. Past tests are also considered if something was fixed or a new vulnerability is discovered it is included in the report.

Cons

This software is not suitable for those who are not techsavvy. There is insufficient information on how to fix the identified issues. One needs to understand quite a bit to interpret the results. It uses technical terminology that a typical business owner may not know. If someone is serious about applying the findings, they will need to read a substantial amount of material. Given that a site may have over 100 vulnerabilities the reading is considerable. Sure, it offers recommendations on what to do, but not how to do it. This is the challenging part. I would suggest they focus on simplifying their language and instructions to be more accessible for average website owners rather than tech experts. A wiki linking tech terms to explanations would also be helpful. Additionally, step by-step instructions on how to implement the recommendations would be beneficial. I recognize that there are various ways to approach the issues, but offering at least a few would be useful. Otherwise a typical website owner might feel overwhelmed by numerous recommendations without clear paths. Another drawback is the necessity to rerun the entire test to verify if the issues have been fixed. I would prefer a line-by-line retest instead of repeating the full test, which can take several days.

Overall, everything is good regarding the product and its features. However while using the website I found the token for verifying ownership a bit confusing. This might not be an issue for others, but I believe the configuration and verification process should be more seamless.

I believed I had security under control but that was not the case. Beagle Security demonstrated otherwise providing me with valuable insights into securing both my site and those of our clients.

There are several gaps in the documentation and guidance. However, I am confident this will improve over time. It lacks sufficient guidance on resolving certain critical issues which means finding the remaining information independently.

The report and insights offered are quite impactful. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate. The reports are well articulated and facilitate prompt resolution of issues. While monitoring my site during testing I noticed real-time impacts, my security system was triggered affirming that it functions as intended. Customer support was also exceptional providing informative assistance and resolving my concerns swiftly.

Cons

There is not much to dislike. Perhaps the lengthy wait for the scans to finish, but that is understandable given the extensive number of tests conducted. After performing a few tests, I can see why they are so effective. However, as an agency working with clients, even though they offer a branding option, there is no white label version of the reports, which may be a concern for some. For us it is manageable since the reports look professional and our logo appears on the first page.

This application alleviates that burden by performing all required tests and delivering a detailed report on our oversights. It allows us to safely enact appropriate measures for our clients sites enhancing their security and trust in us.

Cons

While implementation and execution are easy, I hope the team develops a way to conduct remedial or targeted tests on previously tested sites to confirm fixes without consuming too many credits. Despite this I find the app manageable and see a bright future ahead for it.
