“Speed meets safety”

Pros

Cloudflare's biggest strengths in my book are speed, reliability, security and privacy whenever I'm logging into a new website.

Cons

What I like least is when it crashes sometimes and we lose access to make websites.

“Secure stack done right”

Pros

Getting a strong security and performance layer without forcing every concern into the application itself is what Cloudflare does for us with its traffic protection and flexible security controls. At NextDay AI, the combination of traffic protection, flexible security controls, caching, R2 storage and Pages helps us keep services fast and reliable while simplifying parts of our infrastructure and the caching options are especially valuable for reducing unnecessary origin load and improving response times.

Cons

Figuring out whether an issue comes from the application, the cache or a Cloudflare rule is not always easy especially with some of the more advanced configuration taking time to understand when multiple cache rules, security settings and access policies interact. The dashboard can feel dense when moving beyond the basic setup.

“A real performance boost!”

Pros

Features like DNS, CDN, SSL, WAF and Access integrate well and help improve both reliability and application security and Cloudflare is easy to set up while providing excellent performance and security features out of the box.

Cons

Some advanced configuration options have a learning curve and troubleshooting complex caching or firewall rules can occasionally take time. Likewise, certain features can also be difficult to utilize without extensive documentation.

“fast dns + security”

Pros

Website security, DNS management and performance all in one place is where Cloudflare helps the most and that's what I liked about it. The DNS is fast and easy to manage and features like proxying, SSL, firewall rules and basic DDoS protection are very useful. It gives you a lot of control without needing to overcomplicate the setup.

Cons

few settings are confusing if you are not familiar with DNS, caching or security rules is what I liked least about Cloudflare. A small change can affect how a website loads so you do need to understand what you are changing. Some of the more advanced features also take time to learn properly.

“great bot defense”

Pros

Great for protecting your sites against bots, multi-user DNS and access control to internal sites via the WAF, all for fairly cheap.

Cons

The newer UI is a bit confusing on which site you are working with and some of the features are a bit complex to work with. WARP could be better. It's becoming a single point of failure for the web

“protection that speeds things up”

Pros

I use this tool for all of my client websites and it's been a huge asset. Their security features help protect sites from threats and attacks, giving both me and my clients peace of mind. Beyond security, the performance improvements are noticeable, faster load times and better overall reliability. I also appreciate how easy it is to manage DNS, caching and other settings in one place. It's a dependable platform that adds real value to every site I manage and I consistently recommend it to anyone serious about website performance and protection.

Cons

One downside is that its bot protection can sometimes flag real users as suspicious, triggering verification challenges and making it harder for legitimate visitors to access a website.

“Quick and Strong”

Pros

How powerful it can be to reduce load on your server and serve up your web content in a fast and secure way. Super quick to setup basic spam & bot protection, SSL Certificates and WAF.

Cons

Sometimes Cloudflare will be over protective with its security features and will change what their parameters are so it can lead to false positives

“dependable DNS safety”

Pros

it is very convenient for dns management. We found it more reliable than Godaddy for our domain names. I appreciate the 'actively being hacked' mode that you can turn on to prevent traffic.

Cons

There was a major outage that happened which left us hanging (and all of our customers) for several hours.

“Worth the price!”

Pros

Peace of mind from the built-in DDoS protection is one thing I get, knowing my site is protected from common threats. Cloudflare has been a reliable solution for managing my small business website's DNS, I use it to host and control my company's domain records and the interface is easy to navigate. Overall, it's an affordable and powerful service that delivers strong performance without requiring deep technical expertise.

Cons

An initial learning curve when configuring DNS is one common issue small businesses face especially for those without prior experience. Misconfigured records can lead to website downtime or email delivery issues if not set correctly. Another challenge is understanding proxy settings which can sometimes interfere with services like direct server access or certain APIs. Additionally, troubleshooting can be difficult when it sits between the user and the origin server making it harder to pinpoint where issues originate.

“safe & quick”

Pros

Quite generous free plans even including SSL, are one of the things I appreciate and Cloudflare has been a great addition to protect our websites from DDoS attacks, as well as providing performance improvements through global content delivery. Once set up, Cloudflare works smoothly in the background.

Cons

Set up and configuration can be complex but it is ok once you overcome the learning curve. The enterprise plans can get expensive.

Pros

Set and Forget Security is one of the strengths, along with Unmatched Global Performance (CDN), The "Death of the VPN" (Zero Trust), Developer-First Ecosystem, Radical Accessibility & Value.

Cons

Support Gap for Non-Enterprise Tiers, Complexity and "Dangerous" Settings, False Positives in Security Rules, Centralization Risks ("The Internet's Single Point of Failure"), Billing and Plan Limitations

“Reliable hosting”

Pros

Timely, effective and easy to use customer support is what I got. It was good value for my money, they hosted my site and I used WordPress to build.

Cons

I had no negative issues. Worked for my needs. I’m a small business and never had any outages. I’d recommend them to anyone needing website hosting.

“bot traffic protection”

Pros

Spam/bot traffic protection and great features come with Cloudflare, a valuable service to have for your web presence that helps deliver a faster website user experience for our clients.

Cons

Initial setup was challenging but now, using WPEngine, they have integrated Cloudflare directly and it provides a seamless experience for setting up new websites.

“pricey with no help”

Pros

No good things. I would rather choose the CDN called Bunny.net as they are faster and more affordable. There is absolutely nothing good to say about this business.

Cons

On a Pro plan, you wait days for support to answer, if they even do.

“budgeted protection that works”

Pros

Fully configurable bot protection is one of the things I like, as well as the WAF. Cloudflare is a really complete platform. You can create a lot of different rules to do exactly what you want. The offers are really cheap: the free plan is really generous, as well as the pro and business plans.

Cons

The support is really slow when you have a Free or Pro subscription. Also, the billing system sometimes have issue and you need to contact support.

“Mixed reviews”

Pros

The idea that website will load faster and offers protection from internet issue, like DOS attacks. Because of the way it distribute traffic, it helps with load balancing and improves reliably.

Cons

If their service goes down, our site has gone down even if our own webserver is fine. There are some compatibility issues but difficult to pinpoint

“Top domain protection”

Pros

Fending off the largest DDOS attack in history is something I remember reading an article about and I am not surprised Cloudflare pulled it off because I am BIG on Cybersecurity and Cloudflare is the best. For $25 a month I get full domain protection and they have built in ruleset that stop attacks and I am able to use my own rules sets as well. I love all the features. I can even Livestream and have a secure cloud service of my videos with them for just an additional 5-10 dollars per month.

Cons

What I like least is that you can't contact customer support during an attack unless you have the business plan which is $250 per month

Pros

95% of unwanted traffic deflected without manual tuning comes from auto-rules and bot protection prevents our video streams from being successfully scraped by attackers. CDN accelerates our large media files to global audiences.
