Skycomp Solutions trusts ThreatLocker
Pros

We've been using ThreatLocker for quite sometime now and it's really dependable. It detected many threats and kept us safe from many cyber attacks.

Cons

ThreatLocker tends to be a bit too sensitive when I download stuff from the web even from trusted sites. I often have to submit a ticket and wait for approval which can slow me down at times. But when I see the stats the extra effort seems worth it.

ThreatLocker - Answer to security augmentation for Microsoft Defender
Pros

ThreatLocker stand out from typical MSP vendors cause they focus on integrity instead of follow trends. Through my experience with them I have come to trust their dedication to being a solid partner in our cybersecurity efforts. They act as an active guard against threats like Defender with their default deny approach eliminating false positives in SOC monitoring of EDR data which bring peace of mind. Adopting this strict method have helped us feel more secure.

Cons

Switching to a default deny strategy had a bigger impact than I thought it would. At first the workload was more than expected but Cyberhero support quickly proved invaluable. If you are going this route I did recommend having weekly meetings to fine-tune your initial policies. Its an effort that really pays off in securing the system.

Pros

I appreciate the security it offers particularly its feature to deny anything not allowed. Customer service and support are excellent.

Love ThreatLocker
Pros

The ThreatLocker platform addresses numerous needs and continues to expand. The team is exceptional, I have always been promptly connected with someone knowledgeable. For cybersecurity, ThreatLocker serves as one of our primary defenses against ransomware and other malware.

Cons

When utilizing the allow listing feature, ThreatLocker can become quite noisy and demand significant maintenance. If users do not frequently open random software after the learning phase, the system works well. Threatlocker is powerful but understanding how to effectively use it is crucial.

ThreatLocker is the way to go!
Pros

I really like the security it provides with minimal struggle for the end user. When set up correctly, it establishes safe boundaries for client systems without significantly impacting performance.

Cons

Threat Locker is a complex tool with numerous components. It is not designed for a plug-and-play experience, it requires time to set up and manage properly. There is a significant time investment initially. However, unlike other companies threatLocker does not just sell the product and leave you to handle it alone. They provide regular support check-ins to ensure optimal performance and offer 24/7 assistance for any questions regarding the service or best practices. They also have a training platform to help your team learn to use the software effectively. Although it requires effort, the benefits are substantial.

Threatlocker Zero Trust
Pros

Application whitelisting was quite simple for most of our installation. ThreatLocker automatically learned all our applications and manages updates without our intervention. When custom rules are necessary, the user interface guides me through the process and alerts administrators if policies are insecure or too broad. Network control provides an easy way to implement network microsegmentation and the audit tools simplify determining port communications between hosts. The ThreatLocker Administrator Password System in the configuration manager allowed us to retire our Microsoft Local Administrator Password Solution. Setup took less than five minutes with no complex Group Policy Objects or additional programs. Support is immediate and knowledgeable, with very small wait times for help any time of day via chat.

Cons

The Network control feature tends to encounter issues when using Threatlocker specific objects and switching networks.

Pros

Its core ability to lock down an environment is essential to ensure a company's protection by controlling what can be installed or used on critical systems.

Application Allow Listing that actually works
Pros

I have explored application allow-listing several times in my career and it always seemed too challenging and required too much management. ThreatLocker has managed to do this effectively. It remains involved but is a well-designed product for application allow-listing, privilege access management for applications and network and storage control. We have numerous applications requiring admin rights, but with ThreatLocker, I can manage which applications can run with elevated privileges. Application control ensures users cannot install unapproved apps, maintaining a consistent environment and reducing shadow IT. Although the application is complex, their support is outstanding, with claims of resolving all support requests within a minute. When necessary, support quickly escalates to Zoom meetings. Our Solutions Engineer is also very helpful, offering detailed walkthroughs of the products features. All interactions with ThreatLocker staff have been positive, and the regular outreach makes me feel like we have a partner rather than just a vendor. ThreatLocker University is a valuable resource, offering focused training sessions that are brief yet informative.

Cons

The product is highly complex and can sometimes feel overwhelming. While maintenance decreases over time with fine tuning it is not a set-and-forget solution. However the company seems aware of this and has established a responsive support organization

Pros

I would like to preface this by stating that I am still relatively new to ThreatLocker. However, my onboarding experience and the application itself has been very positive. Managing application installs for users has been mostly effortless.

Cons

Pros

Pros

ThreatLocker is a comprehensive application allow-listing security solution that offers robust protection against cyber threats while providing a smooth user experience. My experience with ThreatLocker has been particularly positive due to the outstanding technical support. Pros

The standout feature of ThreatLocker is its Cyber Heroes. We use a lot of software in our company, and no one else offers support like they do. We have regular meetings with an engineer during client deployments and he is outstanding. The product is excellent, blocking anything not already covered by our policies, which is especially useful for zero-day or new attacks.

Good Stuff
Pros

Adding "blocked" programs that need to be allowed is relatively easy. Email alerts for access requests enable quick resolution of issues.

Cons

In the IT field where we frequently download and install various software it would be helpful to have an "override" option from the desktop, possibly granted to specific users like administrators. A timed out feature could be useful, allowing the override option to remain open for 30 minutesI have not found anything to dislike about the product so far.

Threatlocker - best endpoint security protection to date.
Pros

The software is powerful but, as with all security tools, questions arise that require prompt vendor clarification. ThreatLocker's "Cyber Hero" support elevates the solution significantly. Most issues are reviewed and resolved by their support team, and for more complex queries, data is provided to help us make quick security decisions. The result is a high-security profile with minimal user frustration, which is quite rare these days.

Cons

Initially it can be overwhelming to review audit logs with numerous DLLs and items being audited. Having the ThreatLocker Help Desk and onboarding team guide you through the process makes it much easier. It's recommended to allot dedicated time for setup and onboarding clients and to involve your internal team in calls.

ThreatLocker: Zero-Trust Endpoint Protection for every MSP stack
Pros

ThreatLocker has allowed us to offer a comprehensive zero-trust endpoint protection package to our clients. This ensures their systems are secure from emerging cybersecurity threats. We can review, respond to, and act on client requests easily. Key features include Allowlisting, Ringfencing and Elevation Control. Allowlisting controls which applications can run, Ringfencing defines what an allowed application can do, and Elevation Control manages admin rights through individual policies. setting it up was not a problem and it came with instructions for various remote management tools. After the initial learning phase, we review audit logs and build policies. The ThreatLocker Cyber Hero Support Team has been incredibly helpful throughout our installation journey. They are always available to assist and provide solutions via chat or Zoom if needed.
