Optoro Features
Returns Portal And Exchanges
Optoro’s ‘Returns Portal’ provides a seamless, self-service experience for customers initiating returns. It encourages repurchase options like exchanges, gift cards, or incentives, all without requiring customer service intervention. This feature reduces friction for shoppers, improves brand loyalty, and increases the likelihood of retaining revenue through exchanges or store credits instead of refunds.
Store Returns And BORIS (Buy Online, Return In-Store)
This feature drives foot traffic to physical stores by enabling customers to return online purchases in-store. It creates a frictionless returns experience while boosting top-line sales through additional in-store purchases. Retailers benefit from reduced shipping costs and instant markdowns, as returned items can be quickly restocked or resold.
Returns Processing With SmartDisposition®
Optoro’s AI-powered ‘Returns Processing’ uses proprietary SmartDisposition® technology to automate workflows and route returned inventory to the most profitable resale channels (e.g., restock, recommerce, liquidation). This speeds up restocking, reduces backlogs, and maximizes recovery value.
Fraud Prevention Partnerships
Through collaborations like the one with Appriss Retail, Optoro integrates AI-driven fraud detection to mitigate returns abuse. The system flags suspicious behavior while ensuring a smooth experience for legitimate customers. Retailers using this feature gain cross-channel fraud protection and improved profit margins.
Sustainability And Circular Economy Integration
The platform prioritizes diverting returns from landfills by routing items to resale, donation, or recycling channels. Since 2015, their technology has helped retailers keep 95% of returns out of landfills, reduce carbon emissions by 52 million pounds, and align with circular economy goals. This appeals to eco-conscious consumers and reduces waste-related costs.
