“secure checkout”
Pros
After 7 years of running ecommerce stores, this stands out for having the best customer support and the most secure checkout I've used. I'm able to manage the store on my own, create new themes and test them before going live and add or remove apps without much trouble.
Cons
Since moving away from WooCommerce, building traffic to my site has been more difficult. Also some of the themes available for purchase are quite expensive.

“plenty of options, outdated setup”
Pros
There are so many options available which gives it a lot of potential and flexibility.
Cons
Using it can be frustrating because you have to connect this to that and then something else to another thing. It feels overly complicated and really annoying.

“accessible platform for support teams”
Pros
Working in customer service, I really appreciate how accessible this is! It lets our team move through customer orders quickly and handle issues without any confusion. Processing cancellations and making order changes is also very easy which helps keep everything efficient on our end.
Cons
One area where it could improve is app integration. The platform itself is very reliable but linking it with certain third party tools can sometimes be a little complicated. It's still a strong option overall though this part could definitely be better.

“Fast listings”
Pros
Figuring it out was quick because the interface feels very accessible. Out of all the platforms I've used, this has easily been the best experience when it comes to adding products.
Cons
It does cost a little more than some other alternatives but I still think it's worth paying for.

“A fantastic one-stop shop for building an e-commerce store, but can get pricey as you scale”
Pros
Setting up Shopify is so simple, and the platform offers a great selection of templates that are also highly customizable. The settings are organized in a way that makes managing everything very simple.
Cons
Shopify doesn't support transactions in all currencies and countries without relying on third-party plug-ins, which can be limiting. Moreover I think the translation feature could be improved for a more seamless global experience.

“Shopify is the most user-friendly digital storefront software out there”
Pros
Shopify is excellent for tracking and visualizing the daily performance of our online store. The platform is easy to navigate, and its features make it simple to stay on top of store progress.
Cons
While I'm glad that Shopify is robust, the native product list filtering options could be more comprehensive. It's a bit tedious to rely on multiple plug ins to handle this, especially when some basic features should be available out of the box.

“Good, but not exceptional”
Pros
I love receiving email notifications every time a sale is made. It keeps me updated and connected to my business.
Cons
The backend editing system can be challenging for some users, making it less intuitive for those who are not as tech-savvy. I think the learning curve could be reduced with a more user-friendly interface.

“Limited website functionality for CBD businesses”
Pros
Shopify offers the ability to integrate numerous third-party apps, provides backend code access for full customization and supports a variety of third-party payment processors.
Cons
Shopify charges transaction fees for using third-party payment processors and my business, which is in the CBD industry, can't use Shopify Payments. This, combined with the additional costs of a lower tier plan has impacted my profit margin. The restrictions on CBD companies limit our access to some of Shopify's other features, which is frustrating.

“It's not ideal for beginners”
Pros
There are so many options with Shopify, which opens up incredible possibilities for tailoring your store and enhancing its functionality.
Cons
The ease of use could be much better. It feels like I have to connect everything with multiple steps, which can get frustrating. This lack of simplicity in the integration process makes it unnecessarily tedious.

“My checkout process is always reliable, unlike others”
Pros
After owning my eCommerce store for 7 years, I can confidently say that Shopify offers the best customer service and secure checkout system I've encountered. I can easily manage the store myself, try new themes, and add or remove apps without hassle.
Cons
Building traffic to my site has been challenging since migrating from WooCommerce, and some of the themes I've tried are quite expensive, which has added to the difficulties.

“Excellent platform for managing orders”
Pros
What I appreciate most about Shopify is how intuitive the platform is. It makes it simple for our customer service team to navigate orders and resolve customer issues swiftly. Managing cancellations and modifications is simple, which helps streamline our operations.
Cons
The only real flaw I've experienced with Shopify is the difficulty of integrating with certain apps. While the platform itself is solid, connecting it to some third party tools can be tricky, which is an area that could use improvement.

“It's is popular for a reason”
Pros
Shopify was easy to learn and incredibly simple. It's by far the best platform for adding products that I've used.
Cons
It is definitely on the pricier side compared to some alternatives, but in my opinion, it's worth the investment for the functionality and support it offers.

“standout support”
Pros
One of the biggest strengths of this platform is how reliable it has been for us and the support team has been just as impressive. Anytime we've needed assistance, they've responded quickly, knew exactly how to help and were genuinely useful throughout the process. It really feels like customer satisfaction is something they take seriously.
Cons
A downside for us is that custom apps have to be hosted on external servers. It does provide plenty of app integrations but needing to set up and manage separate hosting for custom apps adds extra work on our side and increases operational costs.

“powerful platform”
Pros
Running an online store feels much more manageable with this all in one platform because it covers just about everything you need in one place. It handles invoicing, payments, integrations, customization and even user behavior tracking so there's no need to piece together a bunch of separate tools. The app and integration marketplace is massive and I've been able to find a suitable add-on for pretty much every need. On top of that, the support network is extensive and there are plenty of tutorials available to help you get the most value out of the platform.
Cons
Product does require some time to get used to. The website builder isn't as flexible as Squarespace and the experience of building from a template feels fairly limited and not very guided at the start. Something as simple as replacing one page with another can require going into the code folders and manually copying and pasting code from one page to another. Still these are relatively minor issues and they're usually manageable thanks to the strong documentation and helpful video resources. Overall the product remains very solid.

“try it yourself!”
Pros
Managing products, sales and customers with it feels very easy. It's a user friendly e commerce platform that makes the daily side of running an online store much easier.
Cons
If you want to take your website beyond the basics, you'll likely need a developer to do it. The standard templates don't come with every feature or level of functions you may want.

“versatile store builder”
Pros
Having an online store up and running with it feels pretty flexible whether you're just starting out or already know your way around ecommerce. The initial setup is simple and there's a huge range of attractive, customizable themes that make putting together a polished storefront easy. The app marketplace is another big plus, with plenty of add-ons for marketing, analytics, dropshipping and other features that can help a business grow. On top of that support tends to be quick to respond and genuinely helpful which makes it a dependable choice for keeping a store running well.
Cons
It can become expensive faster than expected. Even though the core platform is strong some useful features like advanced reporting and certain apps are only available on higher tier plans or require extra spending which may not work well for very small businesses. Transaction fees are another drawback if you're not using their payments so that's something to keep in mind when looking at the total cost.
