“simple store setup”
Pros
Setting up an online store was pretty easy and even without any graphic design skills, I was still able to build it myself.
Cons
Monthly subscription cost ended up being more expensive than I would have liked.

“best-in-class ecommerce features”
Pros
It's best in its class with pretty much every plugin and feature you could want already available.
Cons
Poroblem is that subscription based apps can drive up the cost fast so the monthly bill can end up being pretty expensive.

“easy store launch”
Pros
Very beginner friendly to get an online store up and running with it so almost anyone can launch quickly. At the same time it has plenty of depth and extra features for more advanced store managers which leaves very little to complain about.
Cons
If I had to point out one issue, it would be the pricing which can feel a little intimidating for smaller shops at times.

“frustrating for large catalogs”
Pros
Putting together a website with different pages around the webshop is easy and convenient.
Cons
Adding new products to the webshop turns into a major task even though the platform is widely known for its ecommerce integration. Our online store has around 3000 items and with this tool that is honestly not practical to keep up with because of how much time it takes. I also found working with all the separate apps very inconvenient.

“love it!”
Pros
From a developer and part time sysadmin perspective, it's cloud based setup feels like the ideal choice for running an ecommerce store! The infrastructure is incredibly fast and dependable which makes it stand out right away.
Cons
Switching over from WooCommerce, this definitely feels less open because of how its cloud platform is built. Deep customization is still possible through apps, functions or Plus features but the Plus pricing is quite expensive.

“great features”
Pros
I like how simple it is to get an online set up and running! The platform is user friendly, easy and backed by strong customer support throughout the whole process. There are a few technical parts when it comes to stocking the store or sourcing products, at least from my perspective but once you follow the step by step setup properly, you can launch your store very quickly. It also comes with a solid set of built in features including payment processing, inventory management, shipping options and marketing tools. Other than that they continue to offer ongoing customer support.
Cons
It feels quite expensive especially for someone just starting out since you have to pay the monthly subscription before making even a single sale. That was a big reason I decided to pause and temporarily close my store because getting that first item sold turned out to be harder than I expected.

“social integrations, shipping glitches”
Pros
It links up with Facebook, Instagram and TikTok which is really helpful for reaching customers across different platforms.
Cons
The shipping setup gave me trouble. Even after configuring it, the system kept glitching and telling customers that I didn't ship to their area.

“simplest out there”
Pros
Has been one of the simplest platforms I've used! From reviewing orders and updating products to creating promotions, everything feels very user friendly and easy compared to other platforms I've worked with.
Cons
The part that frustrates me most about it is tracking where a sale actually came from. I rely heavily on Google Analytics and Ads and as tracking has become more complicated overall, it doesn't identify the source of sales as accurately as I'd want it to.

“Good layout”
Pros
Right away the site feels very simple to figure out and use. There's also an excellent range of high quality themes available both free and paid which gives plenty of good options :)
Cons
I haven't had any bad experiences with it. I actually prefer its layout over every other platform I've used.

“billing mess and outdated setup”
Pros
Being able to create a store without any coding and start selling online was a nice advantage!
Cons
Using it felt outdated the whole time. Other than that canceling was unnecessarily complicated and I'm still being charged five months later for the store itself, not extra add ons. I followed the cancellation steps and even contacted support twice, only to be told the shop was no longer active and then I got charged again anyway.

Pros
Getting started with it was easy and it comes with plenty of features and functions that cover everything we were looking for.
Cons
Seat pricing is tied to the plan tier so if you need additional seats, you're forced to upgrade to the next plan which can be a pretty significant cost jump.

“great for growing ecommerce”
Pros
Back in 2019 I first worked with the platform while I was at an outsourcing company handling customer support for e-commerce brands. Ever since then I've continued using it and have seen plenty of other businesses rely on it as well. It's an excellent platform especially for e-commerce companies that want to start taking orders and grow their business. It's also very user friendly and whenever any issue comes up, the support team is extremely helpful :)
Cons
I don't have any complaints. It has been absolutely awesome!

“A reliable, scalable platform with outstanding support”
Pros
The platform's reliability is a major advantage, and the support team is excellent. They've always been quick to respond, knowledgeable and helpful whenever we've had questions. It's clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for Shopify. I really like it.
Cons
A downside I've encountered is that custom apps need to be hosted on external servers. While Shopify offers numerous app integrations, maintaining separate hosting for custom apps increases both workload and operational costs.

Pros
If you're satisfied with shopify's built in functionality and design, it's a fantastic turnkey solution that doesn't require much additional effort.

“I am happy overall just there's a learning curve if you're not tech-savvy”
Pros
I'm still learning how to use it and right now I'm working on linking TikTok. It's been a bit of a struggle, but I'm getting the hang of it. For those not very tech-savvy, there is a learning curve but I'm making progress.
Cons
Tech support can be slow at times when it comes to problem-solving, which can be a bit frustrating, but overall, the service is still quite good.

“A comprehensive e-commerce platform with just a few minor flaws”
Pros
Shopify is an all-in-one platform that has everything you need to sell online, from invoicing and payments to integrations and user tracking. The app marketplace is extensive, offering solutions for every need, and the support is fantastic, with plenty of tutorials to help you make the most of the platform.
Cons
There is a definite learning curve with Shopify. The website builder isn't as flexible as platforms like Squarespace. The user experience while building from templates feels limited, and tasks like swapping pages require accessing code folders. However I believe, with solid documentation and video resources, these hurdles are manageable.

“easy to use platform”
Pros
I've used Shopify to build and manage my online store, and it's been a great experience. It's easy to use, provides a fast setup, and offers features like inventory tracking, payments, analytics, and marketing tools to help manage the store.
Cons
To truly elevate your Shopify store, a developer is often required. The default templates don't offer all the advanced features and functionality that a more customized website might need.
