The best in the market

Pros

Simply the best in the market for selling your products online.

Cons

Shopify makes it easy to manage your store and I've been able to create custom-designed features and gadgets easily, which is a big plus.

Perfect for growing an e-commerce business with plenty of customization options

Pros

Shopify is a versatile platform that works well for both beginners and more experienced users. Setting up the store is easy with a wide range of beautiful, customizable themes. The app marketplace offers plenty of tools for added functionality like marketing, analytics and dropshipping. Plus customer support is reliable and always helpful, which makes it a great option for maintaining a smooth-running store.

Cons

While I find Shopify's core features to be strong, the costs can add up quickly, especially for a small business like mine. Many of the more advanced features, such as detailed reporting and some apps, are only available on higher-tier plans, which can get quite expensive. On top of that, there are transaction fees unless I use Shopify Payments, so I have to keep those costs in mind when evaluating the overall expense of using the platform.

Excellent and easy to use

Pros

Shopify is very user-friendly and easy to use, even for someone with no prior experience in building websites.

Cons

The platform can become expensive, especially if you need to purchase several apps for additional functionality. The free themes are somewhat limiting, and if I want something more customizable, it usually means an additional cost.

Very convenient

Pros

I appreciate the convenience of Shopify as an alternative to Amazon and the marketplace features allow for healthy competition between vendors.

Cons

The fees associated with the app are also very high, which can be discouraging, especially when I have just started out.

Is Shopify the ultimate e-commerce solution?

Pros

After trying several platforms, I've found Shopify to be the most robust and customizable, with great accessibility for small businesses.

Cons

The platform has a lot of moving parts and this can be overwhelming for entrepreneurs who are new to it. Even though building a website is fairly direct, a lot of common features seem to be missing, meaning I either have to pay for an app or hire someone to code them in.

Such a great product

Pros

Great product that's easy to use. I especially love the available add-ons.

Cons

I wish I could add more user IDs to my account, as there are limitations on the number of users allowed, which can be a drawback for growing teams.

It's the best from the rest

Pros

We work with a wide range of brands, each of which depends on e-commerce solutions for their operations. At first glance, it may seem like all platforms offer essentially the same service. However from my experience, this is far from true. The ease of working with Shopify compared to other e-commerce options is immediately noticeable. Shopify stands out with its user-friendly interface and smooth integration process, making it the clear choice when compared to other platforms.

Cons

I haven't found anything particularly negative about Shopify yet. It's been a solid experience overall.

A satisfied Shopify user

Pros

I'm very happy with my overall experience with Shopify. It has been a great platform for my needs.

Cons

As a vendor, one downside is that Shopify doesn't handle the remitting of sales tax, which means that I need to manage it separately.

The best tool for building an e-commerce website

Pros

Very good platform. I've been using it for 5 years and my revenue continues to grow.

Cons

There's a margin that gets deducted from the payment method when I use Shopify Payments, which can be a bit annoying if you're trying to optimize your costs.

Great software for ecommerce

Pros

Shopify is my go-to when I think about eCommerce. It's extremely user-friendly as a buyer and I'm seriously considering becoming a seller on Shopify because of how great it is.

Cons

As a buyer, I would appreciate having more filtering options in the search criteria to make finding products easier and more precise.

plenty of store options

Pros

Setting up a store on the platform gives you a really broad range of merchant options to pick from. There's something for just about every niche from basic merch and standard apparel to even adult products if that's the kind of store you want to run. Other than that they partner with a lot of vendors so there are usually different promotions available to help you launch your store and get started. Another thing I appreciated was the pause option because you can keep your entire store intact without losing anything and pay a much lower cost while it's inactive.

Cons

Part that was frustrating was organizing products into categories because it isn't as easy as just going to a page title and checking off the items you want to appear there. Even though it works with a lot of vendors, the platform is so widely used that products are often sold out which becomes a real issue when demand is that high. If you're hosting vendors on a platform as massive as this one, keeping up with inventory should be a bigger priority. I also didn't care for the support setup since you can't simply call someone and instead have to handle everything through email or chat. When my account was compromised, I would have much preferred speaking to a real person about it rather than continuing to deal with the situation through online communication on the same compromised account.

hard to learn product setup

Pros

Starting a website with it is very affordable at just $1 and that gives customers time to plan everything out and build the site before the full subscription charge kicks in.

Cons

My issue is that it was difficult to understand especially when it came to creating collections and adding products to the website.

my store launched fast!

Pros

Right away I was excited that I could build a small online store directly on my own website. Being able to pick the products myself based on my personal taste was a big plus! Setting everything up from scratch was easy and I had the store live within just a few days of getting started with this tool. After connecting it to my personal site, I even started getting a few sales. I was also really pleased with how simple the back office and owner dashboard were to figure out. It delivered what it promised and it feels good to have satisfied customers leaving positive reviews on my store.

Cons

Monthly fee was something I wasn't happy about even though it's necessary if you want to keep the store running. It also took some effort to understand all the policies and legal requirements related to operating the store although the platform does provide that information. On top of that I wasn't satisfied with the customer service I received from them.

simple product setup

Pros

Organizing collections and adding products an on it is really easy and the whole platform is simple to figure out when I'm updating my store.

Cons

The monthly cost is starting to feel too high and I think there should be some kind of pricing benchmark or lower tier for stores that aren't selling a certain volume of products or bringing in a certain amount of revenue.

love the buy button upgrade

Pros

Starting out with its Buy Button worked perfectly when I only had a small number of products to sell. It was simple to install and helped me get everything live in no time. As my business expanded I moved up to a full website and I've been really happy with that decision. The site is very user friendly so customers can browse without any trouble and I was able to find a theme that was easy to set up and customize. On top of that their customer support has been incredibly helpful anytime I've needed a hand.

Cons

At times (since it comes with so many features) certain parts of the platform can feel a little confusing to figure out. That said whenever I run into that, a quick Google search usually brings up a useful tutorial that explains everything clearly.

anyone can figure it out!

Pros

Working with it is pretty easy and even beginners can handle managing the store without much trouble.

Cons

It is a solid e commerce platform but it does come with a few downsides. A lot of users point out the extra transaction fees when you don't use the payments, the small selection of free themes and the limits around customization. Many of the more advanced tools depend on third party apps which can raise costs and make the setup more complicated. Even though it's generally user friendly some people still feel the initial difficulty is more than expected.

comfortable to use

Pros

Using this app feels pretty comfortable even though I'm not very confident with technology. It's one of the few apps that feels user friendly enough for me to figure out without much trouble.

Cons

The biggest issue is the limited design options. It also becomes a drawback when you don't already have a niche figured out.

Pros

There's a wide range of features that work well for both small shops and larger businesses and the educational resources are genuinely helpful when it comes to solving problems and figuring things out.

Cons

online store setup made simple

Pros

Feels very accessible to get an online store up and running and it makes the whole process simple enough for almost anyone to manage.

Cons

Support can be pretty hit or miss. Once in a while, you'll connect with an excellent rep who really puts in the effort to solve the problem but that doesn't happen often. Most of the time, it feels like I'm chatting with a bot or repeating the same issue again and again without actually getting anywhere.
