range of plugins

Pros

It gives you a fast way to build and customize ecommerce websites and web apps. It also has a huge range of plugins so you can put together just about any kind of powerful online store.

Cons

Problem is that the adds separate charges for POS billing, payments, delivery and tracking and those costs can add up quickly.

accessible store management

Pros

Working at a digital marketing agency, I've handled plenty of client stores built on this platform. From updating product details to linking stores with advertising platforms and other setup tasks, I've spent a lot of time inside the platform. It's consistently felt accessible to figure out and most of the things I need to get done can usually be completed without much trouble.

Cons

An area where we've had problems is its integration with outside platforms. For instance, we've seen issues with Google Merchant Center where some important data stored in the platform doesn't get passed through even though that information is required for the Merchant Center feed.

quick setup

Pros

Starting off with it is very easy even if you don't have any coding background. There are plenty of templates available that help you build a professional-looking website and the backend is simple to figure out when uploading and managing content.

Cons

The analytics on the lower-priced plans are pretty limited. On top of that, you end up depending on marketplace partners for a lot of extra features and those integrations don't always work as well as they should.

my thoughts

Pros

Right from the start, the online interface is simple to figure out and you can get a solid store up and running pretty quickly. There's no need for coding or some IT mastermind to make it work and it's affordable too.

Cons

A few of the behind the scenes setup steps do take a bit of thought.

powerful SEO and secure payments

Pros

Has been an excellent ecommerce platform to use especially because its SEO tools are outstanding and hard to beat. It also offers a wide range of payment options and handles transactions securely from start to finish.

Good fit for growing stores

Pros

Online selling keeps getting bigger and this is probably the most recognized platform in ecommerce for a reason. It offers a broad selection of themes that really help me build and customize my store without much trouble! It's beginner friendly and I also appreciate that there are several pricing plans to choose from depending on what I need. It is used by millions of merchants and powers more than 4 million online stores which gives me a lot of confidence that the platform is stable, trusted and built to last. Those numbers also show how scalable and global it is which is exactly what I want for my business. The inbox messaging feature lets me connect with customers directly and that's been very useful for both marketing and growing my store. Customer support has been excellent as well!! Helpful, responsive and efficient whenever I've needed assistance. It's affordable to get started, very accessible and all I really need is a phone or laptop with an internet connection. Pretty easy overall :)

Cons

Issue for me is that the transaction fees feel a little high compared with other similar providers. Aside from that, I'm a happy user!

great store setup for beginners

Pros

It is one of the best platforms I've used for building an online store and it helped me get everything up and running in just a few days. The platform is very user friendly and flexible when it comes to customization. I was able to set up and customize my store exactly the way I needed in only a few simple steps.

Cons

I didn't come across anything I disliked about it. It feels like one of the best options for beginners who want to launch their own store at a lower cost.

powerful storefront setup

Pros

Launching a website with this platform is very easy and organizing products in the catalog is just as simple. The dashboards are also easy to access which makes checking analytics and tracking performance really convenient.

Cons

It can feel a little expensive but it's reasonable if you're actually taking advantage of all the features it includes.

user friendly features

Pros

Starting with the software felt very easy and the functions worked really well for what I needed.

Cons

My biggest frustrations were the pricing and the customer support. It felt more expensive than it should have been for my needs and when I tried to get help, I mostly ran into articles and chatbots that didn't really understand the problem.

powerful integrations that save time

Pros

Felt very easy to start with and there are already tons of connections built in with other companies across the e-commerce space. Setting up integrations is incredibly simple which has been a huge plus.

Cons

A few of the page builders still need work. PageFly's UX for example, isn't very good but considering how much time the platform saves me that's really my only complaint.

secure storefront with affiliate perks

Pros

One thing that really helped was the 14 day trial since it gave me time to understand how the platform works before committing. Setting up an online store is easy even if you do not already have a website. It also lets you use its shopping cart to handle sales which is very convenient. I appreciate the security as well and because this is such a major ecommerce platform, integrating the store into an external website is simple. Another nice bonus is the affiliate program where you can refer others to this platform and earn a commission in return.

Cons

My only complaint is that the trial period feels a bit too short.

frustrating setup and costly extras

Pros

Having products added at the beginning is fairly simple and there are plenty of template and layout options to choose from. You can customize the shopping experience quite a bit especially if you're willing to pay for the extra features.

Cons

Navigating the platform and linking it with other services is difficult. When I tried connecting my Facebook Shop, it ended up deleting all 400 of my listings. Some features also require an added fee and overall it just doesn't feel very user friendly.

great store and shipping fit

Pros

After moving our website over from GoDaddy, the difference has been great. The online store is much more user friendly and connecting it with our shipping interface has been far simpler.

Cons

A few features are only available if you add a paid app subscription.

love the support!

Pros

Feels very capable of running a store thanks to its strong backend editor and excellent inventory management tools which make handling products and growing the business much more manageable. It also lets you sell across multiple channels including Facebook, Instagram, Amazon and eBay which is a huge plus! There's a solid mix of free and paid templates to choose from and if you want something more custom, you can build your own design from the ground up. Another big advantage is the large app marketplace and third party integrations that can really help expand what your store can do. It also supports more than a hundred payment options plus its own gateway. Apart from that customer support is available 24/7 so there's always help around if something goes wrong.

Cons

Getting started with it can take a bit more effort than with some competing platforms. The editor isn't the most accessible at first and there's slight difficulty while you get used to how everything works. It also comes with fewer built-in features than some other options so you may end up relying on extra apps just to add functions your store needs. Another downside is the transaction fees. If you don't consistently use their payments, you can end up paying fairly high transaction charges on top of the fees from your payment provider. Because of that, it can become more expensive than it first seems especially once app costs and transaction fees start adding to your monthly store expenses.

plenty of themes and apps

Pros

Feels very easy to work with. There's a solid variety of themes and store designs to pick from and the huge app marketplace makes it possible to add features that make running the store much more convenient. It works especially well for dropshipping, the 14-day free trial is helpful and customer support has been reliable when needed.

Cons

One thing that can be a bit much is just how many apps are available because it can feel overwhelming at first. Also the extra apps can become expensive over time and since the platform hosts the site, you don't get complete control over your store.

beginner friendly features

Pros

Everything about the features feels very easy and simple to use. Even someone completely new can pick them up quickly and understand how the platform works without much trouble.

Cons

The pricing is the part that may be an issue. I'd personally rate it somewhere in the middle since it feels fairly standard but for people on a tight budget, it could still come across as expensive.

get online stores live easily!

Pros

Getting an online store live with it takes very little effort thanks to its out of the box eCommerce setup. If one of the modern free themes works for your brand, you can have everything up and running within minutes. It's a really solid option for businesses that want to start selling online without committing to a big custom development project.

Cons

More advanced customization is fairly limited unless you know how to work with Liquid code. The page editor keeps layouts pretty basic so creating more unique page designs isn't really its strong point. That said for most stores this probably won't be a major issue since the standard themes and built-in features are usually enough.
