So many frustrations!

Pros

One thing I did appreciate was the quality of the images available to choose from while building the website.

Cons

The biggest problems were Acuity Scheduling and the customer support.

So happy with the tool

Pros

Building websites with Squarespace is easy because the drag and drop tools remove the need to do any coding during the design process.

Cons

Honestly I am happy with every part of it since it works perfectly for what I need.

Free site but confusing editing

Pros

At the end of the day the biggest advantage is that the basic site covers what we need and doesn't cost us anything. We use it to sell shirts and tickets for events and it handles that part well enough.

Cons

Editing the site isn't very easy which has been frustrating. There are multiple places where items can be uploaded and even after adding them, they don't always appear on the site the way they should.

quick website launch delight

Pros

Squarespace is very easy to use as we can connect a domain and begin building our own site almost immediately.

Cons

It can feel a bit limited in some areas but if you don't have much experience with more advanced website building, that's usually not a problem.

Well organized layout

Pros

Everything stays well organized and navigating through it is simple and easy.

Cons

There were times when it would freeze, although that hasn't really been an issue lately.

fantastic website management tools

Pros

Building and managing websites with Squarespace has been excellent. The drag and drop editor makes it simple to create and update my clients sites, even without having strong technical skills. On top of that the large selection of customizable templates helped me put together professional websites that matched each client's brand perfectly.

Cons

I honestly didn't run into anything I disliked about it.

affordable site builder

Pros

Editing the templates is really easy, bringing in a domain is hassle-free and the pricing is also very reasonable.

Cons

It would be nice to have a few more template design options but aside from that, there's really nothing else to complain about.

powerful blogging tools

Pros

This blogging platform comes with a wide range of built-in features and capabilities and once I got past the initial learning curve, I was able to make good use of most of them.

Cons

It took me a little more time to learn than some other blogging platforms but it's still user friendly and offers a lot of tools.

One place for everything

Pros

Having templates, customizable editing, landing pages, a booking page and an online shop all in one platform is exactly what I wanted. It's really convenient to manage everything in a single place.

Cons

There's honestly not much to complain about. It was pretty simple to learn and building a website that works well for both me and my clients/customers has been very convenient.

limited control for serious sites

Pros

If you have little to no experience building a website, Squarespace is still a great choice. For a solo startup, it can also be a cost-effective way to get online.

Cons

That said I wouldn't recommend a proprietary platform like this to clients. You give up too much control, moving your content elsewhere isn't simple, there's no real test environment, parts of the code cannot be customized and you're ultimately stuck operating under their terms of service instead of your own. Those are only some of the reasons I wouldn't suggest it to anyone serious about building an online business.

clean site setup

Pros

Putting together a functional, attractive website with Squarespace is pretty easy and it doesn't take much effort to get something professional online.

Cons

The downside is that it isn't very flexible when it comes to customization and the selection of widgets and apps feels more limited compared with something like WordPress.

appointments and analytics win

Pros

Managing appointments with Squarespace is very easy and checking analytics is just as convenient. It makes both tasks simple to handle in one place.

Cons

Connecting it with other business software isn't very easy so integrations can be a bit challenging.

flexible website design tools

Pros

Being able to customize my website exactly the way I want is a huge plus. Even the editor on my phone works really well which makes updating things much more convenient.

Cons

Every now and then some of my changes don't get saved while I am editing. That said it's usually because of something I did.

clean setup for beginners

Pros

I find it quite manageable even without any web development background. Also the interface is fairly user friendly and doesn't take too long to figure out.

Cons

The templates don't offer much room for customization so flexibility feels pretty restricted. You're also limited in what you can do with your site unless you upgrade and pay more especially for things like extra pages or e-commerce.

thoughtful integrations for selling online

Pros

Using Squarespace has been really easy and the way its integrations are put together feels well thought out. Having the eCommerce tools and the calendar built into the same platform has made managing everything much more convenient for me.

Cons

My biggest frustration is how restrictive the templates are around currency display. Since I sell to customers in different countries, it's been hard to create a clear currency experience especially because there's nowhere to show the currency on an invoice.

Condescending support and no help

Pros

It does offer options for both e-commerce transactions and onsite payments which is useful.

Cons

When I ran into a problem, the customer support was really disappointing. They were inflexible, came across as condescending and mostly gave generic responses without offering any real help.
