feature packed

Pros

Coming from another website builder that was hard to edit, this one felt much more user friendly and beginner friendly right away.

Cons

I have not run into any issues yet as I am still exploring all of the amazing features and add-ons it offers.

Limited page styling

Pros

The platform has a nice overall look and the way it presents analytics makes the data very clear, simple to follow and easy to read at a glance.

Cons

The platform works well enough overall but some of the resources and tools could be better. One frustrating limitation is that if you want to change the style or colors of just one page on your website, you cannot really do that without affecting the design of the entire site.

flexible content publishing tools

Pros

There's plenty of room with this software when it comes to publishing content and document management is also very flexible.

Cons

The only downside I have come across is that you cannot really use ready-made plugins.

Weak loading performance

Pros

Its biggest advantage is how simple it is to work with the interface and put together your website's design.

Cons

There are a lot of things you really just cannot do with it. For example, the loading speed is terrible from Google's perspective and there's no real way to improve that like you can with WordPress.

fantastic templates and simple setup

Pros

After several months of using Squarespace for my website, I can say it's a fantastic website builder. The templates look impressive and the drag and drop interface is very user friendly, even for someone like me who had no website design experience.

Cons

There's no question it's a strong website builder but it does come with a few limitations. For instance, the platform doesn't offer much customization beyond what's already built into the templates.

helpful resources and fast setup

Pros

There is a lot of useful guidance on how to use the platform and the help section is especially well done. Getting a website launched quickly and securely is very easy too.

Cons

At times it takes a bit of digging to locate all the sections you can or should update on your site. There's quite a bit of clicking through different layers though websites are naturally complex so I am not sure how much more this could realistically be simplified.

custom branding with rising fees

Pros

No matter your skill level, putting together a website with Squarespace is very doable. The tools are easy to work with, the branding can be customized completely and there's almost no limit to what you can create. I also appreciate that editing is accessible from pretty much anywhere, on whatever device you have with you.

Cons

Using it on mobile devices like phones and iPads can be pretty finicky and frustrating. On top of that there's an ongoing monthly charge just to keep the site live after you finish building it and some features cost extra even though they feel essential depending on the type of business you have. I have also had my fees go up before without any notice which was really frustrating.

clean design tools and simple setup

Pros

Squarespace keeps rolling out new features for the design interface which makes the platform feel current and well supported. Compared with other, more popular CMS platforms, it's also much simpler to work with.

Cons

One thing that could be better is the selection of blocks since other CMS platforms offer more options to choose from.

building your own site feels empowering

Pros

Being able to build your own website and create the content exactly how you want is a big plus.

Cons

If you've never worked on webpages before, the learning curve can feel a little tough at first. Once it starts to click though, it becomes much more manageable.

Affordable tool that deliver

Pros

The value here is excellent. For around $15-30 USD, you get a really strong set of features and that feels incredibly affordable for everything included at that price.

Cons

Getting started was a bit confusing and it took some time to figure my way around. After using it for a while though, navigation became much clearer. It was also difficult at first to tell which version I was using.

Support is of next level

Pros

Running multiple domains on a single IP is a big plus and Squarespace gives you several pricing options based on what you need from your site. Plans come with useful features like custom domain names, unlimited storage and email campaigns. On top of that their support is well rounded, with a knowledge base, community forums, plus email and live chat assistance.

Cons

Creating and customizing your own website can still be challenging if you don't have much web knowledge.

premium templates and polished sites

Pros

Building websites with Squarespace is really easy especially because the premium templates look professional right away. It makes it possible to create impressive websites without putting in a lot of effort and there's no need for any programming experience to get started. The analytics are also very useful and the option to integrate with Google Analytics 360 makes it an even better combination for improving website performance and rankings. It also works really well for creating landing pages with attractive designs and overall it gives websites a premium, professional appearance.

Cons

One downside is that it has fewer extensions and plugins compared to some other website builders. If it offered more plugins and extension options, it would become an even more powerful platform for building websites.

Pros

The tool makes it simple to create a professional, attractive website and it's very accessible for people who don't have much website-building experience.

stylish pick for creatives

Pros

Squarespace is an excellent option for individuals and small businesses. Overall it works really well for building a content-focused website especially if you're in a creative field.

Cons

The templates can feel a bit restrictive and usually don't offer as much flexibility as competitors like WordPress.

affordable builder with responsive design

Pros

It's very accessible and affordable and the free version is actually decent. If you're building a small website, Squarespace works really well especially because it already includes a responsive design that adapts to almost any type of device.

Cons

One thing I'd really like, like in other applications, is an autosave option so I don't have to keep clicking save every time I make changes.

Top tool for sure

Pros

Putting a site together with Squarespace is very easy. Also the templates look beautiful and the user friendly interface makes it simple to create a lovely website in just a few minutes.

Cons

The downside is that it's a little pricey and the free trial period doesn't last very long.

powerful tools worth it

Pros

Squarespace isn't exactly a budget website builder and I do think the design options and customization could be better. Even so it's still a really amazing platform, just on the expensive side. It's accessible and comes with features that help justify some of the price especially the more advanced tools. That said I wouldn't recommend it to someone who's just getting started and expects to spend months only working on the design. It makes more sense to pay for it when you're actually ready to build and launch otherwise, it's better to wait.

Cons

Pricing is the biggest downside to me especially when other well-known competitors with strong reputations offer similar or better value for a lot less.

Frustrating image SEO

Pros

Getting started with Squarespace is probably one of the simplest ways for a beginner to put together a basic website.

Cons

What's hard to believe is that even after all this time, it still doesn't allow users to enter alt text for images. Instead, it automatically uses the image file name as the alt text. And if your file is named something like I987698-3, that becomes your alt text and your SEO.

helpful templates and guidance

Pros

One thing I really appreciate about this website is the variety of templates it offers for building a site. It also provides a lot of helpful information which makes the process of creating your own website much easier to follow and understand.

Cons

The only downside for me is that some of the tools are locked behind a subscription. Not everyone can afford to pay for that so some people have to rely only on the features they already have and do their best to make their website look as professional as possible.
