frustrating editor and limited options

Pros

Keeping sites organized works well and being able to create password-protected drafts is definitely useful.

Cons

I really cannot stand the way the websites are built in this interface. It doesn't feel very customizable, working with the block system can be a real headache, the features feel limited and there isn't much guidance for SEO.

user friendly when it works

Pros

When everything is functioning properly, the platform is pretty easy to use. It's simple to navigate Overall even though updates don't come as often and some features still don't work correctly and can cause crashes.

Cons

Quite a few options end up crashing the website which makes the whole experience very frustrating.

flexible website design options

Pros

Being able to customize the website exactly the way I want is one of the best parts of using Squarespace.

Cons

It is a bit on the expensive side although I understand the price since the convenience it provides really does justify the cost.

stylish templates and flexible control

Pros

It is a good option to build a site with Squarespace for anyone who doesn't have much experience creating a website from the ground up. Even with very limited design knowledge, it's possible to get things up and running by picking from the wide range of templates and then adjusting them to match your brand colours and overall style. You can also enable Google Fonts to give the site a more distinct personality and there's room for custom code if you want to take the design further. It also handles team access well since other contributors can be given different permission levels without being able to alter the design itself. That helps keep the website looking consistent across all pages, instead of ending up with random formatting choices like a level one heading suddenly appearing in comic sans italic because someone thought it looked amazing.

Cons

Like most drag and drop website builders, it probably won't provide some of the more advanced capabilities that a fully bespoke site built specifically for your needs can deliver. That said it's not really trying to be that. It's aimed at people who want an attractive online presence with the standard features most businesses need, such as an online store, email management and similar tools.

fantastic platform for brand websites

Pros

Squarespace has been a really decent web design platform to use. It's very user friendly, simple to work with and still gives you customization options for imported templates. I'd definitely recommend it to anyone just getting started with building their brand and turning it into a website.

Cons

A few features aren't quite as customizable as I'd personally like but aside from that, it offers pretty much everything needed to build and design a site around your brand.

clean designs without coding

Pros

It is pretty easy to use and it gives us plenty of options to work with. I enjoy most of the templates and the biggest advantage is that building a site is simple. You really don't need any coding knowledge to use it.

Cons

The price is a little higher than I'd prefer but it's especially worthwhile if you don't have much experience creating websites. If you already know your way around web design though, there may be better alternatives out there.

stylish websites with tons of options

Pros

Building modern, good looking web pages for a business is where Squarespace really shines. It comes with plenty of ready-made templates, lots of imagery and even without much creative skill, you can still put together a site that seems user friendly and looks beautiful. I also appreciate that it supports so many parts of running a business in one place, including mailing list signups, shopping carts, product purchases and multiple pages. Another nice touch is the option to connect your own domain or stay on the trial first which gives you a chance to test everything before committing.

Cons

There's a lot to work through and with so many features and customization paths, it can start to feel a bit complicated and overwhelming. There are countless ways to design and present your site which is helpful but that also makes it easier to get confused. Still, there is guidance and support available when you need it.

Give plenty of options

Pros

Putting a site together felt very approachable thanks to the user friendly interface. Another big plus was the broad selection of templates available which gave me plenty of good design options to work with.

Cons

The biggest downside is that it doesn't offer much flexibility when it comes to customization. You're mostly limited to adjusting the preset rows within the templates. On top of that there's no autosave feature so after making changes it only prompts you to save them manually.

stylish sites with reliable uptime

Pros

A client asked me to create a website that looked professional and stayed online without interruptions. This tool helped me pull all of that together in a very short timeframe. The builder was easy to move through and I was also able to get the site hosted very quickly.

Cons

One thing that would make it even better is support for frameworks such as React JS.

Build professional site without coding

Pros

Building a professional looking website with Squarespace is possible even without knowing much about web development. It offers plenty of customization and the platform is set up in a way that makes it pretty hard to accidentally ruin your site.

Cons

When it introduced its membership community feature, I really wanted to move my existing subscribers over to memberships. The problem is there's no way to transfer their billing so the only option would be asking every subscriber to sign up again with their card information which just isn't realistic. I'd love to use the member areas for my subscribers but without a way to move their payments over, I don't see how that can work.

stylish templates for storefronts

Pros

I run a clothing store so how my website looks really matters. Squarespace is the most visually appealing site builder I have found. I love the sleek design options and the templates are organized by website type which makes everything look user friendly. The 20% discount is also great especially for beginners.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about it.

clean designs and built-in tools

Pros

Squarespace is very easy to use thanks to the drag and drop setup. The designs are clean and clear and customization is simple while still giving plenty of built-in options like an online store and integrations with other services such as MailerLite.

Cons

Compared with WordPress, there aren't as many template choices or widgets available. Still, there's more than enough for the basics and it helps keep things from feeling overwhelming.
