clean, professional website builder

Pros

The platform is incredibly user friendly, the steps are clear and the whole process is simple to follow. The final design looks professional which gives any business a more refined and credible appearance.

Cons

Connecting it with our secondary systems was a little challenging at first although after some trial and error I was able to get to a place that feels manageable. It would be helpful if they offered a simpler guided walkthrough or a way to book time with a support rep to work through those early roadblocks.

beginner friendly creative websites

Pros

Squarespace is easy to use especially for beginners. It lets us build high-quality, creative websites without needing much technical knowledge.

Cons

If I had to point out one downside, it would be the price which feels a bit high to me compared with some competing options.

website building made simple

Pros

Getting a site built with this product is incredibly easy and the whole website design process is about as simple as it gets. From the initial setup to launching the finished site, it's very quick and uncomplicated to get everything up and running.

Cons

My only wish is that it offered more room for customization. There are quite a few extra things I'd want to do but the advanced customization feels limited and the SEO options are fairly restricted too.

Pros

It was easy to set up and run my site with this tool and the platform was simple to use overall.

Cons

The template selection felt a bit limited and I'd definitely appreciate having more design options to choose from.

fantastic builder with built-ins

Pros

Squarespace has an amazing set of features and an awesome website builder. The drag and drop editor is something I really enjoy because I can place things visually and watch the site come together right in front of me with built-in features already available.

Cons

The drag and drop functionality does feel a bit limited in some areas but that's pretty understandable since you cannot really expect every advanced feature from a builder focused on drag and drop use.

flexible editing with full control

Pros

Editing in Squarespace feels really practical because you can view both the back-end version, without the formatting and the live public-facing page at the same time. That makes it much easier to check that a post looks exactly the way you want and quickly adjust anything that seems off.

Cons

At first, the interface can feel a bit overwhelming since there's a lot happening on the screen. Still, once you get used to it, the platform gives you far more editing flexibility than other website builders that are marketed as simpler.

stylish site builder

Pros

Getting a professional looking website together with this platform is pretty easy and it doesn't take much effort to make the site look professional.

Cons

I wouldn't recommend it if you need to sell physical products through Google. Connecting it with other platforms like Google Merchant Center is difficult and not very easy.

quick setup, limited power

Pros

Setting up a basic, functional site live doesn't take much time so it's possible to have something up and running pretty quickly.

Cons

At the same time, it doesn't really have the features or overall power needed to truly stand out in a competitive market.

beautiful templates for portfolios

Pros

Putting together a professional looking website with it is incredibly quick. After trying a number of website builders over the years, this one feels the most beginner friendly to me. The templates look fantastic and are simple to customize so you don't need any coding knowledge or design background to make something impressive. With all of its flexible design options, Squarespace works especially well for portfolio sites, where presentation and layout matter more than advanced online selling tools. It also helps that it's such a well established platform which makes it feel dependable and secure.

Cons

Where it falls short is e-commerce. It doesn't offer the kind of built-in setup needed for practical shipping options, like free delivery over PS50 and that feels like a basic feature an online store should have. If the goal is to build a serious e-commerce site, I wouldn't suggest using it.

fast setup and polished design

Pros

Getting started with Squarespace feels very approachable. It doesn't take long to learn and you can realistically put together a custom, professional looking website within the first hour of using it. The latest version also adds a drag and drop builder that is a big step up from the previous one especially with the grid system for placing elements. For us, that's by far the simplest way to design a site and a big reason our company continues to use Squarespace.

Cons

One ongoing frustration has been site speed optimization. There are some things you can do to improve performance but we still have not been able to make it as fast as we want. To be fair, the site isn't slow overall but it does fall short when we compare it to other websites that load faster.

flexible website and shop platform

Pros

At first, Squarespace looked a bit pricey for a new business but once we compared it with other options out there, it actually felt affordable, dependable and flexible enough to be a worthwhile investment. We originally signed up just to create our website and later on we were able to switch on the eCommerce features and launch an online shop as well. Building the store itself went well and the platform works nicely with third-party services like Stripe, Shippo and TaxJar which made the setup even more useful.

Cons

One part that caused trouble was how the Shop settings are divided across different areas of the dashboard which made things more confusing than they needed to be. We did manage to sort it out in the end but it took a fair amount of frustration to get there. Shipping setup was another challenge especially when dealing with more complex products.

powerful builder with rich features

Pros

Squarespace is a powerful website builder packed with plenty of built-in options which makes creating and managing a site really convenient.

Cons

One thing it's still missing is an editor for error pages so there's no way to create a custom 404 page.

Drag and drop feature is good

Pros

Everything is simple and easy to use. The pre-built templates are a big plus and the drag and drop tools make putting everything together really convenient.

Cons

I do sometimes question whether this is the most user friendly option or the best value compared to everything else available. I have not tried every platform out there but this one has still done what I needed it to do.

clean tools for polished sites

Pros

Putting together a professional, responsive website is very easy here. Even the lowest priced plan already includes a lot of useful features so creating a professional site doesn't take much effort.

Cons

A few capabilities, such as adding custom code or setting up email integration, are locked behind the more expensive plans.

traffic boost with direct engagement

Pros

One of the biggest benefits is how much traffic it can bring to my page which gives me more chances to generate sales. It also helps create direct interaction between the product and the customer which adds a lot of value.

Cons

The pricing is definitely on the high side especially for small businesses but I still see it as a worthwhile investment.
