Stunning design overall

Pros

For nearly two years on Squarespace my experience has been truly excellent. The creation of my site was done quickly and the final result was stunning in terms of design. When I started adding digital products to sell, everything went smoothly and customer service responded quickly to every question I had.

Cons

In my eyes the main real weakness concerns the management of my newsletter subscriber list. Compared to MailChimp where I had access to much more data on my subscribers, this one offered me very little information and tag management wasn't very well optimized.

flexible landing pages for beginners

Pros

Putting together a landing page is pretty easy with the customizable builder and it also lets us integrate apps such as Shopify.

Cons

Where this service falls short is if you want a more advanced website or a more powerful editor since you'd likely need to build the site somewhere else for that. Other than that, it still gives beginners a lot to work with.

clean website builder for beginners

Pros

Squarespace makes it simple to build, update and manage a website especially for people who don't have much knowledge of web design or development.

Cons

The text editors are the part I am not a fan of since they feel confusing and are a bit harder to figure out compared with platforms like WordPress.

templates and quick launch

Pros

One of the best parts is not having to hire developers which makes the whole process much cheaper and a lot faster. It's very friendly for non-developers, quick to launch and comes with a wide variety of templates to choose from.

Cons

That said it would still be nice to have even more templates for inspiration. SEO support could also be stronger.

beginner friendly blogging tools

Pros

It is pretty easy to use especially for blogging. The example blog gave beginners something clear to follow which made the whole setup and learning process much easier to pick up.

Cons

The website builder felt poorly organized. There were too many unnecessary features and all of that extra clutter made it harder to navigate than it should have been.

template limits hurt flexibility

Pros

Squarespace's user friendly setup gave me a nice introduction to website design. Wix is also a strong option and both platforms have really good templates and compete closely.

Cons

One thing that caused frustration was the template restriction on edits. That especially bothered a coworker who'll be taking over my work. He contacted support and they ended up helping him unlock the template.

clean themes for quick websites

Pros

It is pretty user friendly especially for anyone new to building a website. The drag and drop tools make the setup process simple and the available themes are well designed and make it easier to pick one that fits our business.

Cons

That said when you compare it with WordPress, it does feel more limited in terms of how much you can customize. Things like editing the site code or adding deeper functionality through integrations aren't as flexible.

versatile builder at a fair price

Pros

Putting together a website with Squarespace is easy without becoming overly complicated. No matter your skill level, you can create a site for pretty much any purpose in just a few minutes. It also comes packed with plenty of features and the pricing feels fair for what you get.

Cons

I didn't run into any problems with it. I'd recommend it over WordPress and the other platforms I tested during the same period.

stylish templates and live editing

Pros

Building a site with Squarespace is very user‑friendly and the editor tool is easy to use too. Also the templates look modern and professional and updates are quick because we see changes in real time right away.

Cons

One thing I'd still like to see improved is the integration between their web forms and my CRM, Keap.

fast website setup with polished templates

Pros

Setting up a website with Squarespace is a really convenient option for a small business or independent contractor. There's a wide selection of templates and they can be customized without much hassle. These days, having a website adds a lot to your credibility and Squarespace is one of the best tools for getting one live in a short amount of time.

Cons

The only thing I'd change is having the ability to customize every single part of a template though I realize that would be tough to make possible. Even with that, there are plenty of templates available and the customization options already offered are more than enough.

beautiful pages without coding

Pros

When it comes to usability, Squarespace is hard to top. Plenty of website builders are beginner friendly but it stands out because it pairs that simplicity with impressively high-quality results. I can update our company site and create really professional, attractive pages without needing to know any code at all.

Cons

One frustration is that it doesn't perform very well in Mozilla Firefox which is the browser I normally use. On top of that the way it handles form submissions isn't very strong and the form tool overall feels fairly limited.

customizable site with strong analytics

Pros

Building and customizing my website with photos and text has not been a hassle. I use the e-commerce section for selling digital products online and it's been quite simple to manage. Whenever I am unsure how to do something, the help area usually has a decent Q&A that points me in the right direction. I also like that after someone makes a purchase, the digital product is sent to them automatically. The site runs fast, offers a lot of useful features and the analytics are one of my favorite parts. Seeing how many people are visiting the website is really interesting.

Cons

One thing that bothers me is how photos have to be set up in a card style if I want them to appear smaller. Editing photos directly on the pages is also a bit difficult. On top of that blog post titles show up extremely large and I still have not been able to figure out how to reduce the font size.
