slick templates and polished pages

Pros

The template selection was a big plus, along with the portfolio tools and the pre designed pages that you can still customize. The websites come out looking professional and you can keep things very simple or build something much more detailed if you want.

Cons

By the time I was done, the feature set didn't feel like quite enough to justify the yearly cost. That said if I were building a full ecommerce store, the price would probably feel completely worth it because there are tons of really nice ecommerce features.

modern design with real personality

Pros

Right away the clean look of the site stood out to me. It feels current and open, with a design style that lines up well with modern trends. A lot of websites end up looking generic or instantly recognizable in the same way but Squarespace leaves plenty of room to create something that feels individual.

Cons

I don't have any real complaints. I have not used every feature especially things like selling directly through the site but the one or two times I ran into small glitches, customer support was incredibly quick and helpful.

beautiful site with minimal effort

Pros

Getting a professional, functional page up and running takes barely any time with this software now that our site is established. If you need to build something from scratch, it does take longer but the templates usually come with the built-in features I need. The best part is how attractive our website looks without requiring much effort at all.

Cons

Every now and then, I run into odd spacing problems when using certain functions. Most of the time I can figure out a workaround but I do not always have the know-how to fix it myself and the support articles are somewhat inconsistent.

fantastic templates and image library

Pros

Building our wellness blog site on Squarespace has been a really positive experience. You choose a template, customize it, add your content and publish without much hassle which makes our work a lot more manageable. This was exactly what we needed for our website. As someone who writes long-form articles, I especially enjoy using it because the editor keeps up well and the site never freezes while I am working. One of the best features is the built-in image library since it saves me from constantly hunting for photos and the images are copyright-free.

Cons

there's very little to complain about. Once in a while it signs me out even though I usually stay logged into my profile. Also today was the first time in around 8 or 9 months that I noticed a bit of lag while uploading images. Still, that felt like a one-off issue. I use it every day and overall I really don't have any real complaints.

fast loading with built-in seo

Pros

Built-in SEO tools, a user friendly interface and fast-loading pages make Squarespace a great platform to work with.

Cons

One thing missing is automatic minification and there isn't really another built-in option to handle that either.

fantastic templates for creative sites

Pros

There's an impressive collection of block templates ready for just about anything I want to build, whether it's a resume, blog, photography page, ad or any creative arts and crafts project meant to showcase my work. The tools available feel complete and perfectly suited for bringing ideas to life.

Cons

It does feel limiting being restricted to the preset templates that are available. I also have to save my work manually after every change since autosave isn't supported.

clean templates, limited flexibility

Pros

Compared with other tools, Squarespace is efficient and easy to work with. Also it offers plenty of landing page templates that look clean and are simple to pick from.

Cons

The downside is that the designs and landing pages do not leave much room for customization or flexibility.

no-code website building wins

Pros

Building a website from the ground up with Squarespace doesn't require any coding knowledge which is a big plus.

Cons

The website builder does have some limits in what it can handle. That feels like the trade-off for using something so user friendly.

stylish templates and helpful site tools

Pros

Squarespace comes with a good range of tools for building attractive, user friendly websites for small businesses. The blogging features are especially handy making it simple to schedule posts ahead of time. I also appreciate that it includes free domain registration and SSL certificates. Another nice touch is the variety of well-designed templates organized by categories like gaming, food and more so it's easier to match the design to your site's purpose. You can even define the goal of your website, whether it's for blogging, showcasing art or something else.

Cons

One downside is that there isn't really a long-term free account option so test websites can just sit there inactive online unless you pay for a plan. The pricing is also fairly high for a small business owner and I think more people would use it if the cost were looked at more carefully. Another frustrating limitation is that once you upgrade, you cannot switch templates so if you want a different design later, starting over takes a lot of effort.

fast website setup in a day

Pros

I signed up for Squarespace and had my website fully set up within a single day. The whole process felt simple from beginning to end and was simple to work through all the way.

Cons

When you compare it with other CMS platforms, it does feel a bit more restrictive in terms of design and layout options. That said once you understand those limitations, it becomes very easy to use and lets you handle simple tasks quickly.

fantastic mobile-ready templates

Pros

The templates look fantastic, they're simple to fill in with content and the way everything is optimized for mobile devices is excellent.

Cons

It did seem a bit pricier than other similar services but the quality of the product makes the cost feel justified.

Offer unlimited storage

Pros

Squarespace has been really useful for our company because it comes with a wide range of tools in one place. The biggest advantage is definitely the unlimited storage and data transfer available across all plans. The templates look very good and it's also nice that custom coding is an option when you want more flexibility.

Cons

One downside is that there isn't a free trial so you have to commit and pay upfront without testing it first. That said the software turned out to be a great choice and it ended up being worth the investment for our company.

polished templates, limited flexibility

Pros

Getting a basic website online quickly is one of the better parts of Squarespace and it still manages to look professional. A few of the templates are especially well designed and give the site a great feel right away.

Cons

The harder part is customizing a template enough to make the site feel truly unique. On top of that some user interface changes have reduced flexibility which makes the platform feel more restrictive than it should.

responsive support for creators

Pros

Squarespace has an outstanding support team. They always respond quickly which makes it much simpler for creators to get answers whenever questions come up.

Cons

professional templates and helpful support

Pros

After a couple of months of hosting my website on Squarespace, I have been really happy with it. It comes with a lot of useful features for the kind of events I run especially the calendar and blog tools. The customer service has also been very helpful and the templates are simple to work with while still making my site look professional without the extra expense.

Cons

It has been a really great choice for what I need. It's not quite as user friendly as some other website builders but the monthly cost is lower which makes it appealing. It works especially well for smaller websites, blogs and online stores. Still, if you're planning to build a larger site or need several people to work on it together, a different platform would probably be a better fit.

perfect fit for small businesses

Pros

As a small business tool this software has been one of the best things I have come across. It's very simple to use and everything you need is right there in one place.

Cons

One downside is that the attachment used to connect the software to the phone can be fragile and it sometimes breaks or doesn't work properly.
