flexible site control

Pros

Getting around it is pretty easy, with sensible menus and extra customization options through markdown text. Plus it gives business owners full control over their website without needing to depend on or pay a web designer.

Cons

It can be a bit buggy At times with some elements needing to be entered twice on the design screens before they show up properly on the main pages.

seo-friendly themes that deliver

Pros

A year back I started using Squarespace and it has been a really amazing website builder for putting together a site quickly. One of the best parts is the themes as they're SEO-friendly and most of them even pass Core Web Vitals which makes a big difference.

Cons

there's nothing I particularly dislike about using it.

Website creation made easy

Pros

It comes with hosting built in and also gives you the tools to create websites which makes it a very complete platform.

Cons

The drag and drop editor is very user friendly and that is actually a plus since it lets pretty much anyone build a website.

beautiful templates and powerful tools

Pros

Building a website with Squarespace has been one of the best options for me because it offers beautiful templates along with a wide range of powerful features.

Cons

The downside is that the pricing feels expensive and the selection of templates is a bit limited.

powerful site builder for anyone

Pros

A simple but capable website builder that makes it possible for just about anyone to create a website.

Cons

It does miss a few integrations and aside from that, there isn't much to complain about.

quick website setup for beginners

Pros

Building a website with Squarespace is fast and easy, even for people who don't have much experience with web design. I have seen plenty of people with no design background put together good looking websites using it.

Cons

The interface could use some refinement because it doesn't always feel as user friendly as it should. A more detailed sidebar menu would also help a lot when trying to locate a specific feature.

fast website building wins

Pros

Squarespace really shines when it comes to getting a website or other web assets up and running quickly. Even team members with only a little technical know‑how can jump in, contribute and make edits when needed. The graphical interface makes the whole development and design process feel efficient and simple.

Cons

It does fall short on some of the more advanced features and functionality you might find on other platforms but it makes up for that by being excellent for creating and publishing new content quickly and efficiently.

Everything is here!

Pros

Having everything in one integrated platform is a big plus. I have built a self-hosted WordPress site before and keeping track of all the plugins can be a hassle. With Squarespace, it's all built into one place.

Cons

Every now and then, I have to look up a YouTube video to figure out how to do something specific, like setting up a dropdown menu. It also costs a bit more than self-hosting although at least you're only paying once a year.

Pros

Squarespace helped me put together my website even without any experience in graphic design or web design which made the whole process very approachable.

Cons

My only regret is not finding out about it sooner.

Good experience overall

Pros

Customers can pay their deposit through Squarespace without any hassle. It's just a simple card swipe, the same way they would pay at any other store which makes the whole process feel familiar and convenient. It gives me the same payment functionality my clients already expect from the businesses they visit regularly.

Cons

One thing that's missing is a truly fast way to get support when something comes up and needs to be looked into. The online chat feature does work well and is helpful but it's not especially quick when you just have a simple question and want a fast answer.

versatile templates for every business

Pros

It does a really nice job of organizing the platform around different kinds of businesses and the templates are flexible enough to work well across all sorts of content too.

Cons

One thing I'd change is the business plan pricing. It would make sense to add another tier for independent owners who don't sell much on their site but still want the commerce features without having to pay $30 a month.

template limits hold it back

Pros

Squarespace is fairly easy to use and it works well for building a first website without much hassle.

Cons

The platform feels pretty restrictive in terms of layout and customization. You're mostly limited to what the templates allow which makes things difficult when a website needs different features or functionality on each page.

A downside is that some of the features still need improvement and could be refined to work better.

website building for everyone

Pros

Coming from someone who has also worked with WordPress, Squarespace does exactly what I need as long as I am not after extremely heavy customization. It's a really great platform that makes website building accessible to just about anyone.

Cons

nothing negative comes to mind right now. Maybe after using it longer I'll run into a few bugs or find certain things I'd rather handle differently.

simple setup and helpful support

Pros

Squarespace is extremely easy to use overall. On top of that the customer service and designer support have both been excellent.

Cons

One thing that stands out is how recognizable its sites can be. I can usually tell right away when a site was built on SS because the basic framework tends to have a very similar look.

custom templates and drag and drop wins

Pros

Whenever I need to put together a website, this is the platform I keep coming back to. It makes the whole process really simple with ready made templates that you can personalize however you want. The drag and drop features also make building pages very easy.

Cons

There is a bit of a learning curve at first especially when it comes to figuring out how the software works and where all the features are located.

best diy website builder

Pros

After working on plenty of websites and teaming up with all kinds of developers, this is still the best do it yourself website platform I have used. The templates look professional and modern, the interface is user friendly and whenever I needed help, customer support was able to guide me through it. I even still keep my personal blog on the platform today.

Cons

A few of the templates did have some built-in limitations from what I remember. That said the pricing is reasonable so it matches what you're paying for. If you need a fully custom website, this probably isn't the right place to get that.
