Cons

There are still some limits when it comes to how much you can customize or create with this platform. If your site needs complex menus, multiple outputs or more advanced video features, it probably won't be the right choice.

It let me build and launch a website for my resort in Central America without any hassle. The whole platform felt simple and user‑friendly and not confusing or overly technical. Editing pages was easy, everything felt organized and I never needed any web design training to get things running. Even someone with zero experience could realistically have a site up and online in less than a day.

Getting used to the platform took some time especially from a designer's perspective. Whenever I wanted to create a very specific layout with special effects and certain content, it sometimes couldn't deliver the exact design I had in mind. On top of that the pricing feels a bit expensive for me.

The template designs people build on Squarespace are genuinely impressive and that's the part I appreciate most. I can absolutely see why the platform works well for millions of users, even if it doesn't really match the way I prefer to work.

The biggest frustration for me is not being able to drag and drop elements exactly wherever I want within a template. Since I work as a graphic designer, I want total control over the layout, visual feel and precise placement of everything on my site. It does offer a fair amount of flexibility but it still stops short of giving the complete creative freedom I am looking for.

Getting started was simple and it was just as easy to train others on how to use it. The interface looks excellent and performs really well across all devices. Building out pages takes a bit of time to learn at first but their training resources are excellent and help a lot.

The recurring donation setup was frustrating and felt like a hassle to get working.

Squarespace has been an excellent option especially for blog-focused websites. The commenting system is top notch, it supports multiple authors and it covers the features you'd expect for that kind of setup. There are also plenty of templates that are ready to go live which helps a lot. On top of that customer support is available 24/7.

Cons

The pricing does run on the expensive side. It also feels limited when it comes to advanced marketing features and it doesn't support third-party apps, plugins or extensions. Editing pages and adding content can be frustrating at times and their templates have a reputation for slower page speeds.

That said a tool like this does come with a few limitations. Some features that are common on a WordPress website just aren't available and in certain cases it's not very clear how to complete specific tasks. Event planning and registrations have been some of the hardest things for me to work around while using it.

Coming from Wix and WordPress, it is like a much better option. The templates look professional and it's much easier to find the tools and settings I need. Since I don't have an HTML background, I used to spend hours in WordPress adjusting templates because the layout wasn't user‑friendly. Overall it removes that hassle and I have been able to find exactly what I need without all that extra effort. It's also very helpful that performance tracking is easy especially when you're starting out with a smaller audience.

Cons

One thing that really needs improvement is the lack of an autosave feature. When I am in the middle of working, I can get a lot done in just a few minutes and there have been plenty of times when I forgot to save before leaving the editor. Losing that work is frustrating and autosave feels like something that should absolutely be included.
