“friendly builder for beginners”
Pros
If working in a website backend is unfamiliar, Squarespace is a really great WYSIWYG option.
Cons
Once you have some experience, even just with other WYSIWYG editors, it tends to feel more restrictive than helpful.

“limited customization for growing needs”
Pros
Squarespace is pretty easy to work with when you start from a template and mainly swap in your own content.
Cons
It really feels geared toward small businesses that want to put together their own site. I understand that larger companies use it too but the all in one setup for building, selling, SEO and everything else feels fairly limited. Customization can be tough. Clients often come to us with sites that worked well enough when they were just getting started, then want our team to expand them with more tailored shop features, graphics and other custom elements that the platform just doesn't handle very easily.

“lacking features for polish”

“portfolio site helped me shine”
Pros
While job hunting for a marketing role, I used Squarespace to build and showcase my portfolio and I really loved how simple it was to work with. It helped me present my work professionally and I eventually landed a job where they were impressed that I had a website ready to share. Another part I appreciated was being able to turn off my subscription without losing the site itself, just taking it offline from public view. That makes it really convenient if I ever need to bring it back and publish it again later.
Cons
I do wish it offered a bit more flexibility when it comes to design options. The overall layout and interface are really nice but having more room to customize and fine-tune certain elements would make it even better.

“frustrating limits and weak seo”
Pros
Squarespace works well as a basic website builder for beginners who don't need much. If all you want is a simple site with things like your contact details, it does the job. It can also be used for e-commerce if you need to sell a product.
Cons
This platform just didn't work for me for a number of reasons. The biggest issue was how little control I felt I had over my own and my clients' websites. Getting the design to look exactly how I wanted was almost impossible because customization is so limited. On top of that the SEO tools are barely there. Out of all the platforms I have used and I have tried most of them, this has been the worst one for SEO.

“Great templates for quick launch”

“polished templates and quick setup”
Pros
Building a website with Squarespace feels simple, even if you don't have much experience. It offers a broad selection of professional looking templates and buying/registering a domain was done in just a few quick steps.
Cons
At times some pages take a bit longer to load than I expected.

“stylish templates and fast launch”
Pros
Getting a simple website live with Squarespace takes only a few hours. You can pick a template, customize it to your liking and publish without much hassle. A lot of competing platforms still seem to require direct coding to get a polished result but Squarespace avoids that. The templates look polished and are generally simple to work with and the backend is packed with analytics tools and e-commerce features for whenever you're ready to start selling. The editor is a true WYSIWYG experience and adding new sections is just a click.
Cons
Even though the templates look professional, there really aren't that many of them. I have built multiple sites on it and usually end up choosing the same podcasting template because so many of the others feel overly niche such as restaurant, vlogger, fashion and there's very little for a more general-purpose website. For a company that's been doing this for more than 10 years, the selection feels surprisingly small. The WYSIWYG editor can also get pretty frustrating since you're constantly digging through floating menus just to make basic changes and it's not always obvious where things are located. It often feels like there should be a better approach, even though the platform is still fairly simple to use.

“website inquiries took off”
Pros
pretty much everything about it worked for us. We moved over from our old website and it let us create the new one ourselves without needing to bring in a web designer. The platform was simple to work with and easy to customize, while still helping us end up with a professional looking site. Since launching our new Squarespace website, we've been getting a lot more new customers reaching out with inquiries.
Cons
None at all. It delivered exactly what I was hoping for and I really don't have any complaints.

“clean layout, repetitive templates”
Pros
We started using Squarespace for a secondary business we're building alongside our main LLC which runs on a different provider. Compared with that platform, Squarespace seems much cleaner in its layout, more polished overall and better organized in the way its features are presented. It also does a nice job of not overwhelming the platform by packing in too many tools at once.
Cons
My biggest issue with it is that a lot of the templates and many of the drag and drop elements end up feeling very repetitive. They tend to look alike and come across as cookie-cutter versions of the same designs. The customization options also aren't as strong as they should be and the design functionality still feels like it has room to grow.

“stylish templates for quick sites”
Pros
The templates are really appealing and putting a website design together doesn't take much effort at all.
Cons
It doesn't quite measure up to some other website platforms because the design options feel limited. The text styling is locked across the whole site, you cannot add colored text and there are restrictions on where you're able to place things on the pages.

“fantastic for blogging and site design”
Pros
Squarespace is like a decent option for people who have not really built a website before. It's also a good fit for anyone who wants to run a blog alongside their site. The dashboard is clean, well organized and simple to navigate. There are plenty of modules available to add new functionality and with thousands of free and low-cost themes, you can create just about any design you have in mind.
Cons
At first the way themes, modules and page builders worked especially with image sliders and other extras looked a bit complex. Also I had to spend some time getting used to adding modules but once I understood how it all worked, it became easy to use.

“fast setup and polished results”
Pros
Getting a site built and published doesn't take much effort. The whole process is quick and most of the time the finished website looks polished and professional.
Cons
One thing that gets frustrating is editing or cropping PNG files because they end up with a white background instead of staying transparent.

“beautiful themes and stylish blocks”
Pros
Squarespace really shines with its themes and the pre-built beautiful blocks add a lot to the overall website design. As someone without a design background, I can still put together a site in a way that feels simple, fun and genuinely enjoyable.
Cons
Working with images can be a little awkward especially when it comes to resizing them. You have to rely on spacer blocks and that can be frustrating at times. I'd much prefer the option to just drag an image and scale it down directly.

“affordable plans and standout templates”
Pros
Compared with a lot of other website builders, the value here is hard to beat. Even the highest-priced plan is still genuinely affordable for most people. The biggest highlight is the template library which has options for just about any type of site you can imagine. That makes it especially helpful for beginners or anyone who wants a polished website built from templates backed by proven designs and data.
Cons
One thing that feels both positive and negative is how the pricing is presented. It wasn't obvious right away and I had to spend a little time looking for it since it's tucked down at the bottom left of the homepage. At first, that made me assume the cost would be ridiculous and intentionally hidden but it actually turned out to be much better than expected. Even so, that setup could easily put off someone who doesn't want to dig around since they might assume it's too expensive and move on to another service. the pricing should be featured more clearly because it's one of the stronger selling points.

“responsive templates and built-in hosting”
Pros
One of the best parts is the range of responsive templates that automatically adapt from desktop to mobile without me having to do anything extra. It's also a big plus that hosting is included in the price and making updates is very quick and simple.
Cons
The interface doesn't feel especially user friendly. There are certain design adjustments I'd like to make and I don't really understand why those options aren't available. The platform works really well for me as someone with web design experience but I am not convinced the average person would have the patience to sit through the learning curve if they were trying to build a site themselves.

“Simplifies website building”
Pros
Building a website with Squarespace is very easy overall. The interface was fairly user friendly while putting the site together and being able to bring in your own template and color scheme was especially useful for keeping the branding consistent.

“flexible design with handy integrations”
Pros
A lot of what makes Squarespace stand out to me is how approachable it is, even without a technical background. It works well across different screen sizes, gives enough room to customize styling and added features and also connects nicely with third-party services.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to have is support for more image formats especially SVGs. I'd also love to see the platform offer more powerful ecommerce tools and shopping cart features.

“Decent email marketing tool”
Pros
Whenever I have needed it for email marketing in my work unit, Squarespace has been pretty easy to work with. The interface is user friendly so I didn't have to spend much time researching or going through a lot of training to start using it effectively.
Cons
I really didn't run into anything I disliked about the software. It mostly comes down to what you need and whether this tool fits that purpose but if it does, then it's definitely a great option.
