helpful templates for non-designers

Pros

Having ready-made templates is a big plus with this software especially since design is not really my strong suit.

Cons

This is less about the software itself but the amount of advertising around it put me off for quite a while.

best pick for website building

Pros

Out of all the website hosting platforms available, this one has been the best by far for building a site. Creating and customizing a website is very easy and making changes later is just as simple. The interface is also user friendly and makes the whole process feel hassle-free.

Cons

there's very little to dislike about it.

Proven lifesaver for us

Pros

Running my business site on Squarespace has been a huge relief. It's very user friendly so I can build and update things without touching code or worrying that one wrong line will break the whole website. On top of that I don't have to stress about maintenance which has been a lifesaver as someone just getting started.

Cons

Getting comfortable with all the design tools did take a bit of time at first. There was definitely a learning curve and I ended up watching a few tutorials to understand how everything worked. Still, it came together much faster than I expected so the extra effort was worth it.

modern templates for standout sites

Pros

There's a really nice selection of modern templates and they're the kind that give you almost everything you need to launch a beautiful-looking website.

Cons

It is an excellent option for people who aren't web developers but it still takes some time and practice to really get comfortable using it well.

stylish templates and fast setup

Pros

Getting a new website up and running only takes a few minutes. There's a wide selection of templates to choose from and each one feels thoughtfully created by professional artists and web designers. Another big plus is that the templates are fully responsive so the site looks polished on phones, tablets and desktop computers alike.

Cons

One thing I really appreciate is that you can build a website without needing to know any coding at all.

stylish builder with standout features

Pros

The site-building features were really enjoyable to use and made the whole process feel well thought out although the price did feel a bit high.

Cons

It comes across as somewhat overpriced especially since the feature set doesn't quite feel extensive enough to fully justify the cost.

flexible templates and simple publishing

Pros

After trying a few different website builders, this one felt the easiest to customize and work with. The template selection is broad and I used those designs to create my own site. Also the pricing seems fairly in line with other platforms but the builder itself seems more user‑friendly to me. Getting the site published was very simple and I really like that it offers hosting directly as well.

Cons

One frustrating part is that there are still plenty of design limitations. Some things are difficult to pull off without coding and it can take a lot of trial and error just to figure out which elements you need to adjust to change the look you want. Font customization was especially a struggle since I couldn't get the style I had in mind and ended up settling for something else. Another downside is support. A few years ago there was a live chat option that was incredibly helpful when I got stuck and they even gave me a custom tutorial based on my question. The last time I used it, that feature either wasn't available or was very hard to find so I had to rely on the FAQs instead. Because of that I once again had to settle for a different design than the one I originally wanted.

sleek templates, fast website launch

Pros

The templates look polished and modern and adding or managing content is top-notch. It's the quickest method I have used to put together an elegant website without much hassle.

Cons

That simplicity comes with some pretty tough limits. We can only build certain types of content with it since anything that falls outside their framework is basically unreasonable to create.

Pros

Squarespace has been a really great choice for our agency portfolio. It fits what we need well and the platform is easy to work with. We're able to add landing pages, update content and include contact information without taking much time.

Cons

Pricing feels a little on the expensive side when compared with some other tools available on the market.

Design tools are good

Pros

Building my website on my own felt very manageable because the design tools are so user friendly. I needed an option that didn't require hiring a designer since that just isn't in my budget right now. The Acuity integration has also been a big plus because it makes scheduling clients much more convenient.

Cons

At times the website design options can feel a little restrictive though I can see the reason for that. Those limits actually help a beginner like me put together a website that works properly.

plenty of templates to start

Pros

There was a wide selection of examples and ready-made designs to choose from.

Cons

I had a hard time with certain customizations and ended up needing help from someone more comfortable with tech to finish the final tweaks since parts of the interface felt confusing to me. That said they were able to navigate it without much trouble and make the needed changes.

quick launch and simple setup

Pros

Getting a site live with Squarespace doesn't take much effort and the platform is fairly easy to use overall.

Cons

At the same time, formatting can be extremely difficult to work with. It also has some major limitations when it comes to SEO and support is only offered through chat and email rather than around the clock.

beautiful templates for any business

Pros

The templates are really well designed and it's possible to create a beautiful website without needing any coding or programming knowledge at all. They also offer pricing plans that fit businesses at different stages and sizes.

Cons

A downside is that you need a business or e-commerce plan to change certain settings in the builder. It would also be better if there were more customization options available in the templates.

seo-ready site from day one

Pros

Right from the start you get a fully working website which lets you put your attention on the actual business or project you want to build. It performs reliably, has decent SEO optimization and makes it possible to launch your business use case without getting stuck dealing with technical complexity.

Cons

Once your website becomes a more serious part of your business, the downside shows up like you're locked into a proprietary platform with ongoing monthly payments and you don't really have much control over the setup.

responsive templates that deliver

Pros

Building a website with Squarespace is quick and I don't have to stress about future upgrades or how the site will look on different screen sizes. The templates already take care of the responsive design so I can put my attention on adding content instead of dealing with layout issues.

Cons

Anything technical starts to get a bit too expensive. Adding custom code or scripts is also challenging so I wouldn't suggest it for projects that go beyond a blog or a small boutique-style storefront.

versatile templates and mobile-ready design

Pros

Squarespace has a very user friendly interface and the template selection covers just about every industry so getting started on a website design is not a problem. The integrations with social media, CRM tools, email and other APIs work well which is a big plus. They also guide you through improving SEO and most questions can be answered directly through the built-in support and help resources. Another thing I like is how their apps work together as you can track analytics in one app and make website updates in another. On top of that all of their templates and layouts are built to look good on both desktop and mobile.

Cons

My only real complaint is with version upgrades. At times moving from one version to the next means certain features are no longer included. In my case, I was using a 7.0 template and wanted to refresh my branding with an 8.0 template but one of my favorite features, parallax, was no longer available there. Because of that, I stayed with my 7.0 template and recreated some of the design elements I liked from the 8.0 options. That said they do not automatically change features on your existing site during an upgrade as you would have to make that switch yourself.

website launched without hassle

Pros

After trying more complicated and less user friendly platforms, I finally switched to Squarespace and was actually able to get my website up and running. The simple setup and tools made all the difference and without that I probably never would have finished building my site.

Cons

The pricing does feel a bit high but the features it includes make the cost feel reasonable enough to justify.
