“fantastic templates and simplicity”
Pros
Compared with other website builders I have used over the years, it has been the easiest by far. It's simple to explain to people who aren't confident with design or technology and it's also easy to teach anyone who needs to handle regular updates and ongoing website content. On top of that the templates are amazing.
Cons
Since I regularly use WordPress for my personal portfolio, I do wish it offered more customization options, along with a wider range of plugins and similar tools.

“decent start for branding”
Pros
When I launched my business and started using Square for credit card processing, I got access to Squarespace at no cost. It was a great way to begin building my website and helped me figure out which services I wanted to showcase, along with the overall style and branding I wanted for the business.
Cons
It felt a bit restrictive when it came to setting up online courses which is one of the services I want to provide to potential customers.

“stunning storefronts in no time”
Pros
Getting an eCommerce site up and running with Squarespace was very easy. It lets the average user build a polished, professional looking website in less than 30 minutes which can save a lot of time and help keep budgeting costs down.
Cons
One frustrating limitation is that if you host your site on their platform, you cannot really transfer that website elsewhere later on. It keeps the rights to its templates and features so if you decide to leave, you'll likely have to rebuild the whole site from scratch.

“packed with business tools”
Pros
Squarespace covers almost everything a business owner or blogger could want, from SEO and file uploads to analytics and plenty of other useful features.
Cons
The downside was the cost since it became pretty expensive to run my IT site with everything I needed. Back when I was using it a couple of years ago, it also didn't offer any way to run fundraisers through the website which was something I needed so I ended up moving to another provider.

“polished websites and sales tools”
Pros
The platform is user friendly. It doesn't take much effort to find what you need to build a website and it also lets you guide purchases, promote your business and give everything a more professional appearance.
Cons
Once the site is live making changes or moving things around can be a bit challenging.

“quick ecommerce setup wins”
Pros
Thanks to this tool getting an eCommerce store up and running was very easy. Adding new products is simple and I really like having the option to sell digital products as well as set up subscription services. The learning curve isn't steep at all so it's very beginner friendly and easy to start with.
Cons
The template and theme selection feels a bit limited and the responsiveness could definitely be better. It can also be prone to errors at times. On top of that the payment processing options are mostly restricted to the larger Western payment gateways.

“stress-free setup and coding-free build”
Pros
Squarespace made it easy to set up and run a site. There wasn't much room to make mistakes or accidentally break anything. It handled the technical side for me so I never had to deal with coding or anything overly complicated.
Cons
One area that fell short was the SEO especially compared with other platforms I have used. My website wasn't ranking well and the software didn't offer any suggestions or recommendations to help improve the SEO.

“Integrations that simplify everything”
Pros
Right away, the Google integration and overall usability made Squarespace really pleasant to work with. Having e-commerce, scheduling and Zoom built in has simplified a lot and kept everything in one place.
Cons
The only thing I'd want is a bit more flexibility with fonts inside text blocks.

“beautiful sites with low setup costs”
Pros
Building and launching attractive websites with Squarespace is easy and uncomplicated. After the initial setup, even people without a technical background can jump in and update content which really lowers the barrier to getting involved in web design. It also helps cut IT expenses compared with maintaining a self-hosted platform.
Cons
I do wish it offered built-in internationalization for the live site and allowed custom post types. That said the biggest issue is how inefficient the published sites can be. They regularly end up with red Lighthouse performance scores and rely on a huge amount of JavaScript. Even next to other site builders, the performance feels poor and by 2021 standards that is hard to accept. Their documentation tends to put the blame on users for creating inefficient pages, while the company has shown very little urgency around shrinking page size. If performance matters to you and it should, it's worth being extremely cautious before committing to it.

“simple setup with strong analytics”
Pros
Building a blog, moving around the site and making quick updates is very manageable even for someone without much technical experience. Squarespace is also user friendly than a lot of other options because of its drag and drop tools. It also handles electronic forms well which makes it easier to collect opt-ins and it covers the core things you need to run a website. The analytics they provide are also really amazing.
Cons
Using the software can feel pretty confusing at times. I mostly work on it from my MacBook and after enough crashes, I have gotten into the habit of writing content somewhere else before pasting it into the site. Uploading images can also be painfully slow and I have had a hard time with certain text editing and formatting tasks. Oddly enough, the iOS apps seem to perform better but that's not really ideal for the way I work. Overall the editing process doesn't feel very fluid.

“flexible site customization”
Pros
Customizing the site for each of our candidates and clients is really easy which makes it simple to tailor every page to fit different needs.
Cons
After the update, editing certain sections became a little more challenging at first although it starts to feel manageable once you spend some time with it. I also wish changing a heading on one page didn't affect that heading style across other pages.

“clean design, constant compliments”
Pros
I started with one of the built-in templates, changed a few things and people constantly compliment how good my site looks. It feels simple, modern and very user friendly. I only update it every few months and beyond that it doesn't require anything else from me.
Cons
There really isn't much to complain about. I have not run into any problems and have not even needed to contact customer support.

“creative website builder”
Pros
As a graphic designer, having a site that looks professional without a lot of hassle matters a lot and Squarespace has been perfect for that since I started my business. Building a website on my own is very simple and the available templates give me a strong starting point while still leaving plenty of room to add my own creative touch.
Cons
it covers everything I need for a professional website. I have been really happy with what the platform offers overall.

“stylish templates that stand out”
Pros
Squarespace really shines when it comes to templates for building a polished website. Compared with other platforms, its designs feel hard to beat and it does an excellent job of helping you present a very modern-looking site.
Cons
When you stack it up against other website builders, the learning curve is a little steeper. Since the platform is so focused on design, there are a few quirks and limitations you have to understand before you can really become confident using it.

“stylish templates and enjoyable setup”
Pros
Building a website with Squarespace feels simple and enjoyable. It really helps you create exactly what you need and editing a template to turn it into your own site has been a very positive experience. Even without design skills, it gives you the tools and guidance to put together a website that looks the way you want.
Cons
Customer support has been responsive and helpful and they do their best to assist when needed. The option to switch between templates whenever you want is also a valuable feature.

“flexible ecommerce options”
Pros
Getting the eCommerce side up and running was very easy. It integrates with multiple payment processors, adding new products is simple and it supports both digital downloads and subscription services. Since my business offers a wide variety of products and services, having all of those product types available in one place has been really valuable and convenient to set up.
Cons
The website design side isn't especially user friendly if you don't have a design background. I ended up hiring a designer to build the site for me instead.

“Complex CMS limits SEO”
Pros
At first glance Squarespace feels like an ideal option for a personal project especially if you don't have any background in web design.
Cons
I wouldn't recommend it to any business that relies on SEO now or plans to use it as a marketing channel in the future. While the CMS itself is simple to work with, the platform is so inflexible that anything beyond very basic SEO tactics is practically impossible.
