beautiful templates that still work

Pros

Having access to such polished templates made it simple to collaborate with someone on my website design. Now, six years later, I can jump in on my own and handle updates or make changes without too much trouble, even as someone who is not very technical.

Cons

If I had to point out a downside, it would be that the platform offers so much flexibility and so many features that I do not really know how to take full advantage of all of them. I could definitely use it for Dummies guide, lol!

beautiful design, limited sales focus

Pros

The design tools are excellent and they really help you build a site that feels polished and appealing for both potential and existing customers.

Cons

It didn't feel geared enough toward selling and it came across more as a platform for displaying a portfolio or telling a brand story than driving sales.

quick website launch

Pros

Getting a website online with this software is a really good option when speed matters and you do not need the design to match a very specific vision. It works especially well for putting together a site quickly without a lot of hassle.

Cons

The downside is that you are limited to a fairly small set of templates and they do not offer much flexibility or customization. If you want more control, you usually need to hire a Squarespace developer which adds to the cost. On top of that it charges extra for additional functionality elements.

all in one tools that just work

Pros

I find it simple and things like buying a domain, using the logo maker, searching for images and building forms were all very easy. Everything seems accessible and I didn't need any coding knowledge to make it work.

Cons

With more thoughtful UX, I think the advanced features could be offered in a way that feels less overwhelming. It's also pretty easy to accidentally end up with too many fonts and colors once custom changes start creeping in. A prompt like, Are you sure you want to color outside the lines here? could help. That kind of design logic is where you start needing a professional and the whole point of software like this is to delay needing that help for as long as possible.

Good value for price

Pros

Getting a website up and running with this product is very easy and the variety of templates works well for all kinds of site styles. You can put together a professional looking website even without any web design or programming background. The pricing is also more reasonable than competitors like Wix which makes it even more appealing. Having 24/7 support available is a big plus too.

Cons

The only thing I wish it included is a website domain email account with the personal website package since some competing services already provide that.

client-friendly website handoff

Pros

One of the biggest advantages of Squarespace is how easy it is for my clients to manage once I hand a website over to them. In most cases, they can handle their own content updates without needing much help. It also saves me time as a web developer. I can build and launch a simple brochure‑style site with little to no coding involved.

Cons

It does have limits when it comes to certain kinds of functionality especially anything that depends on server-side programming. That said to be fair it never really presents itself as a platform for building complex web applications.

refreshing drag and drop builder

Pros

Its biggest advantage is how user friendly it feels. The drag and drop builder is especially refreshing and makes creating pages much more approachable.

Cons

One downside is that some tools in the drag and drop editor feel a bit limited. When I want to make a small adjustment, I have to go back into the full menu for the item I placed instead of getting a quick pop-up option which can be a little inconvenient.

customizable templates with plenty of options

Pros

Squarespace offers templates tailored to the kind of website you're building. They're simple to customize and come with lots of design blocks and options to choose from.

Cons

It took me a little time to get used to because it works a bit differently from some other platforms I have used but overall it was still fairly easy to learn.

fantastic templates and flexibility

Pros

Getting a site updated and customized with Squarespace has been incredibly easy. I came in with zero coding or web development experience and it handled all of my worries with user friendly templates and plug-and-play features that made editing, changing things and adding new functionality feel simple.

Cons

At this point I still have not come across any feature that doesn't work well for our team or organization.

website editing feels effortless

Pros

Building and updating my own website is less intimidating than it ever used to. Making changes, editing pages and keeping the site current is very easy too and the platform has been excellent overall.

Cons

Even though the platform is user friendly, I still run into limitations with the preset dimensions and other restrictions that come with using a hosted website builder.

professional site without a designer

Pros

My site comes across as very polished and professional. A lot of people have complimented it and assumed I hired an expensive web designer, when in reality I built it myself. I do not know much about web design so I was relieved that Squarespace was not too difficult to learn.

Cons

One limitation for me is that the shopping cart does not support shipping options in Thailand. I have not been able to set up shipping fees based on the local shipping companies available here which makes that feature much less useful right now. I really hope they fix this soon. Another issue is with page design customization. It does not let me set different colors, font styles or font sizes for individual pages. When I change one, it updates across every page. I am using a free template so that may be part of the reason.

stylish templates and quick launch

Pros

There's a wide range of website templates available and it lets you build your own site without needing to code. Getting the website live is also very simple and fast.

Cons

Customizing the site can be a little frustrating when I am trying to make it look exactly the way I want.

highly recommend for businesses

Pros

I'd definitely recommend this software to business users. It has been a really great option overall.

Cons

The monthly fee is my only small complaint. It's not expensive but I'd prefer having the option to pay once a year instead.

polished sites at fair pricing

Pros

Nearly everything I have wanted to build in Squarespace has been fairly simple to put together. Whenever I got stuck, I could usually find a YouTube tutorial that showed me exactly how to do it. The finished websites look polished on both desktop and mobile and the cost to build them is pretty reasonable. It's also nice that you can turn your site into a transactional one and the fees for that feel fair.

Cons

Since I am not especially tech-savvy some features do take a more detailed online tutorial to recreate something I have seen before. That said it's still something I have been able to figure out in the end.

stylish templates and strong commerce

Pros

Designing a website with Squarespace is very easy which is the part I like most. The video tutorials are really helpful and they answer almost all of the questions I run into. Being able to build an online store and sell my products is another big plus. The template designs are excellent as well especially if you're just getting started with website creation. I also really like the Commerce area for managing orders since it's very simple to work with.

Cons

Mailchimp integration has been disappointing when it comes to my email campaigns and the email tools built into the platform don't give me enough flexibility compared with other outside providers. I also struggle quite a bit when trying to move text blocks, images and other elements into the correct order which makes the process feel complex. An undo button would really help so I could quickly reverse my last step.

stylish templates and simple editing

Pros

After trying a handful of website builders, Squarespace has been one of the easiest ones to work with. The templates look fantastic and it doesn't take much to customize and adjust them to match your own style.

Cons

The downside is the price since it's fairly expensive compared with other similar services like Wix.

clean website builder

Pros

Building a professional website with Squarespace is really easy. The content management side was also simple to figure out and navigating and editing everything didn't take much effort.

Cons

One thing I struggled with was trying to add a table to organize text. I ended up going into the source code to build and edit it instead. I am fairly tech-savvy so it was surprising that I couldn't find a simple way to create a table, even though I assume the option must exist somewhere.

clean website builder for business

Pros

Thanks to its content management system, building an online presence for a business become very easy. The text editor is also simple to use so updating the site doesn't require any coding knowledge. It's also modular which makes it convenient to add or remove features whenever needed.

Cons

Its flexibility and customization options are fairly limited. If you want deeper control over your site, you'll probably need to go with another platform. Moving away from it is also a tedious process and that tends to remain the case.

beautiful layouts and fantastic support

Pros

As a photographer and marketer, coding has never been my strong point and even though I have always wanted to learn, I simply don't have the time. That's exactly where Squarespace has been a huge help. The biggest compliment I can give it is how simple it is to use. The templates look polished and visually appealing and for the price, you get a lot included. It feels like a safe, enjoyable way to build your own website. On top of that the customer support is excellent and I love everything about it.

Cons

I don't have any complaints at all. I mean that sincerely. Having a website is incredibly valuable and for someone like me who is short on time, it's been so helpful to have software that is simple, attractive and effective for bringing in more potential clients. It works quickly, keeps adding new templates and gives you full customization options. I genuinely think it's amazing.
