“Perfect product displays”

Pros

My product photos looked fantastic on the site. I got a lot of compliments about how attractive my products appeared, largely because of the way Squarespace presented them on the website.

Cons

One frustrating issue was that the photos wouldn't stay in the order I arranged them. The sequence would often change on its own and sometimes a weaker image ended up as the main product photo online. I also felt their customer support fell short of the level I was expecting.

Pros

Squarespace comes with really beautiful templates and the drag and drop builder makes it simple to put together an attractive website. It feels very plug-and-play so almost anyone can get a site up and running pretty quickly.

Cons

At the same time true customization is pretty difficult, if not impossible, within the template system. Even when using a blank page, you still have to build everything from a fairly limited set of content blocks.

Pros

It is very user friendly and it didn't take long to understand how everything works. I am able to customize the templates with CSS and then pass the site over to a client, confident they can handle the basic updates themselves. The built-in templates also look fantastic and provide a really strong foundation to build from.

Cons

A few templates miss very basic functions, such as being able to navigate backward or forward between older and newer blog posts. I'd really like to see more consistency across templates or at least clearer explanations of which features are included with each one.

Pros

Getting a website designed with this software is pretty easy. You can pick a template, swap out the images and text and make it fit your own style without much trouble. It's really simple to get going.

Cons

Once you want a custom design that isn't already built into the theme, it takes a lot more work. Even small tweaks can require coding knowledge and after adding something, getting the placement and alignment right can turn into a pretty big task.

Pros

Squarespace is the best choice for building a website for a personal brand or business. The platform is user friendly, easy to use, not expensive at all and it comes packed with plenty of useful tools.

Cons

The only downside is that there isn't a free plan although the pricing still feels quite reasonable.

Considering everything the platform includes, you get quite a bit out of it and it works reliably and securely with Google as well as other essential tools.

Cons

At a certain stage the limited options for external customization become a real obstacle, particularly when it comes to design flexibility.

Pros

Designing professional websites with Squarespace has been possible for me without needing any coding skills. I have built 4 sites with it and still manage 3 today. The templates make picking a website style simple, while still giving plenty of room to customize the final look.

Cons

One thing I have noticed is that templates are split into different families and each family comes with its own set of features. I'd prefer it if every template offered the same customization options and functionality across the board.

Pros

Squarespace is widely used and it's very simple to work with. It also feels really distinctive compared to other platforms. The whole website experience is quite different and I am really happy with it.

Cons

It's a really nice website Overall although a few little bugs do bother me from time to time. I am hoping those get improved soon but aside from that, I still love it.

Pros

Being able to accept customer payments directly from my smartphone is a huge plus. It was also quick to pick up and easy to use.

Cons

Every now and then, I run into an issue where a customer's payment doesn't go through and that can be pretty frustrating.

Pros

Squarespace is pretty easy to work with and it comes with a wide range of attractive templates. The overall design quality is much more modern than a lot of competing platforms and it works well whether you're building a blog, a portfolio or an online store.

Cons

Cost is quite high. They also push you into buying your domain through them and moving data over from a previous site or transferring an existing domain isn't very convenient.

Pros

Getting a website up and running with Squarespace took hardly any time. The templates look really polished and the platform is simple to work with even if you have little or no web design experience.

Cons

The downside for my business was the cost. I get that the convenience and user friendly setup are part of what you pay for but the site just wasn't bringing in enough revenue to make the price feel worthwhile.

Pros

Editing pages is easy and uploading videos works really well. Also it is simple to swap out or rearrange pages, photos and many other elements across the site.

Cons

The pricing feels like it should be lower for basic users and the template selection is pretty limited. Unless you hire a web developer, there isn't much freedom to create a style that feels fully your own.

Squarespace offers modern, user friendly templates that still deliver a lot of the functionality you'd expect from a custom-built site. Even though you're working within a template, there's still plenty of room to personalize and customize the site the way you want.

Cons

At times it doesn't cooperate very well with third-party plug-ins. A few features can also be a bit tricky to fine-tune in the beginning but with some patience, everything comes together nicely in the end.

Right from the start this software has been very user friendly. Our spa's website looks fantastic and making edits to anything on the site is simple.

Cons

I don't have any complaints about this software. It's user friendly, easy to navigate and that's exactly what I love about it.

Building a professional, functional website with Squarespace was possible even without much prior knowledge which was a huge plus for me. There's also a wide selection of templates available so it was nice to have plenty of designs to choose from.

Cons

Once you pick a template, there's only so much you can customize so the design flexibility feels somewhat limited. A few of the templates I liked most were geared toward online store customers, while our website only needed to provide information and advertising.

Squarespace is very easy to use and using it doesn't take much effort. Also it makes payments really convenient and hassle-free.

Cons

Every now and then, it freezes up and it can take a minute before it starts working properly again.

Building pages in Squarespace is pretty easy. The drag‑and‑drop tools are very user‑friendly. Compared with Gutentor on WordPress which seems confusing, slow and hard to navigate this one is much more pleasant and simple to work with.

Cons

The pricing is the part that gives me pause. It makes sense for a medium-sized business but for a small business or one that only operates seasonally, it can be a lot harder to justify which is the situation for another one of my clients.

Squarespace is a very decent tool thanks to its high-quality templates and drag and drop editor. You really don't need technical knowledge or strong design skills to put something together that looks polished. The preset styling in the templates helps even a basic site come across as clean and elegant. It's also simple to add SEO titles and tags, connect email marketing tools and integrate things like Google AdSense and other plugins. For everything that's included, the pricing is quite reasonable, even if it may be a little higher than some other CMS platforms.

Cons

One limitation I have run into is that it doesn't offer as much customization as platforms like Wix or Weebly. There are times when I only want to shift a small element slightly but the block-based layout often doesn't allow that level of control. On the other hand, it tends to be very stable, with few if any bugs, whereas Wix and Weebly have given me some odd errors at times.

This is easy to use and the sample websites are especially helpful for sparking ideas when you're building your own. It gives new users a clear sense of what's possible. There's also plenty of room to add personality and flair so the final website can look polished and professional while still reflecting your own style and attitude in the design.

Cons

The pricing can become expensive if you need the full set of features or plan to sell products through the site. That said you generally get what you pay for and most free website builders just don't offer the same level of features, flexibility or extra touches.

Getting started with Squarespace was the biggest advantage for me. It comes with a wide selection of polished, attractive templates so putting together a professional looking website only takes a few minutes, even without any web development background.

Cons

My only complaint is that it doesn't include a template specifically for social media websites. That would be a really useful option to have.
