“simple setup, limited growth”
Pros
It takes away the hassle of setting up or maintaining your own hosting account which is a big plus. It's also easy to use especially for people who don't have any web development background.
Cons
At the same time, it feels pretty limited for anyone trying to build serious business online. The SEO options aren't very strong and it also falls short on the functionality companies need if they plan to scale.

“My top option”
Pros
Running a drum academy in Canada, I had tested a number of website platforms before landing on one that really presented my business the way I wanted. Squarespace was the first option that genuinely delivered on that. The user friendly setup, polished look and helpful technical support were all big reasons I decided to stick with it.
Cons
Since I started using it, I have not run into anything negative to say about it.

“powerful ecommerce toolkit”
Pros
Squarespace covers just about every e-commerce need with its built-in partnerships and integrated features which makes it a very complete platform for selling online.
Cons
There's a lot of detail packed into this website builder so at times the number of features can feel a bit overwhelming to work through.

“affordable shop setup for basics”
Pros
They have a budget-friendly plan that works well if you just need a simple online store for your business. It's a really great option when all you're after are the basic e-commerce features.
Cons
Costs can climb pretty fast. If you're planning to use it for a restaurant handling takeout orders, I'd recommend looking at other options first. It does work very well as a full POS setup when online orders are connected with in-person sales. But if you don't already use their POS system, it becomes a hassle since it won't integrate with the POS you already have. For example, if a customer places a pickup food order online, the kitchen won't automatically get a ticket unless Square POS is already in place. You end up having to notify the kitchen manually and you also have to keep refreshing the online store yourself to check for new orders. That cheaper plan really isn't built for managing to-go orders.

“stylish storefront with drag and drop”
Pros
Squarespace looks polished and is simple to set up especially for an entrepreneur who wants an attractive website with drag and drop tools that also work well for e-commerce.
Cons
The downside is that it felt too expensive for me and for that price, the customization options were more limited than I expected.

“feature packed without coding”
Pros
It's packed with features and I really appreciated being able to use them without being forced to learn CSS or any other web coding skills.
Cons
I do like the block based text editor but it definitely took a while to adjust to. The writing experience just doesn't feel very user friendly if you're used to working in Word or Google Docs.

“flexible page builder wins”
Pros
Building pages with the drag and drop tools felt very easy and customizing the design was simple to work through. While planning the pages for our rebranded website, functionality mattered most to us because we wanted both current and future customers to move through the site comfortably and quickly find what they needed. Being able to make adjustments and update elements whenever we want, instead of waiting on a developer to build or change a page, has been a big advantage.
Cons
The form tools can be a little temperamental and occasionally fail to work properly for users. Since there isn't a dedicated customer service rep to help with onboarding, troubleshooting can be harder than it should be. If you don't have much coding experience, changing the header size across the whole site can also be challenging and I really wish there were an option to choose your own fonts.

“templated but clean presentation”
Pros
Even though Squarespace relies heavily on templates, it still offers a wide enough selection of page layouts and widgets to add the fields I need without the site feeling too mass-produced. It's also very easy for internal users to update and clients end up seeing a clean, focused website that keeps distractions away from the main message.
Cons
Customization is fairly restricted compared with building a site yourself, even with basic HTML. There's nothing inherently bad about using a preconfigured website but when customers look more closely, the repeated layouts and overall format can start to resemble a PowerPoint presentation.

Pros
Once you spend a little time learning where everything is, it becomes fairly easy to use. It also comes with plenty of features so you can customize the site to fit exactly what you need.

“beautiful templates and polished results”
Pros
The templates are fantastic and the platform is very simple to use. My site looks beautiful and I am genuinely proud of what I have been able to build with it.
Cons
A few things simply don't function the way they should. I still have not been able to authenticate my email address in the marketing area, even after going through all the help articles and watching the videos and it still won't work. That's especially frustrating because the platform really is impressive, yet the customer service isn't reliable or even very accessible. I am also not a fan of how everything is sold a la carte. It makes sense at first but having flat-fee pricing for different business tiers would be much better. Until you fully understand what your business needs, you may not even realize a feature exists or that you'll have to pay extra for it.

“fantastic templates for websites”
Pros
As a platform for web developers and designers, Squarespace really stands out. The builder makes it possible to put together a stunning website with its templates and those templates can be edited and customized to match different content needs.
Cons
Using this website builder is very easy and simple to understand. Anyone can build a site with the tools and features it offers. I have not run into any problems with the platform at all and I don't have any cons to mention.

“page building with frustrating limitations”
Pros
Squarespace definitely helps with building pages and websites in quite a few ways which is a real advantage at least until you start running into the parts of the platform that are far less user friendly.
Cons
At the same time, plenty of parts of the tool are not all that simple to work with. Formatting and design can be pretty finicky in a lot of areas and we regularly have to rely on developers to handle tasks that are very simple to do on other platforms like WordPress.

“Has plenty of options”
Pros
One of the biggest advantages of Squarespace is its impressive collection of professionally designed templates. Out of all the website builders I have used over the years, Squarespace offers some of the most visually appealing designs. It also includes plenty of content blocks that you can customize without much trouble, along with the other elements across the page.
Cons
Using it isn't the most user friendly at first. The section-based way of building a website comes with a bit of a learning curve.

“good templates, limited flexibility”
Pros
The templates do a lot of the work upfront so getting a site started doesn't take much effort. From there, it's mostly a matter of making a few point-and-click edits and dropping in your own text.
Cons
Where it falls short is in customization compared with platforms like WordPress, Elementor or ClickFunnels. I also sometimes question how well it performs when it comes to Google search visibility.

“flexible payments for every job”
Pros
Moving from one job to the next was much less stressful with this product because I didn't have to worry about collecting payments. Customers were able to pay right away and it let me accept several different payment methods.
Cons
The money transfers weren't as easy as I expected and customer support was a bit slower than I would have preferred. Aside from that, everything else worked really well.

“feature packed value for websites”
Pros
Compared with other DIY website builders we've looked at, Squarespace gives you the broadest set of features for the lowest cost. The support team is knowledgeable and easy to reach when you need help along the way. It's the platform we most often recommend to clients who want to build their own website.
Cons
Because it runs on its own proprietary site builder, it doesn't come close to matching the flexibility of WordPress and its huge library of plugins. That said it does connect with many of the most popular third-party tools so there's still a decent amount of capability built in. It also doesn't go as deep as Shopify for e-commerce since it isn't a dedicated online selling platform but it does cost less than Shopify and still includes most of the features the average retailer would need.

“powerful site builder and hosting”
Pros
Building a site with Squarespace is very easy. The default options are excellent right out of the box, customization is simple and it comes with plenty of features. The domain hosting has also been amazing and reliable.
Cons
The only thing I'd really want is a lower price point especially with more features included in the lower-tier plans. Domain names can also get pretty expensive.

“fantastic templates and customization”
Pros
Anyone who spends time on YouTube has probably come across Squarespace and there's a reason it's so well known. I really enjoy using it. Getting a site set up is simple and the platform is very user friendly. There are also plenty of services and plugins available that make customizing your website easy.
Cons
The only real downside I'd mention is that the templates are so polished that a lot of people barely change them so you end up seeing many websites that look almost identical. That said I cannot really blame it for that.

“frustrating blog layout issues”
Pros
It was easy to set up my site and run as you don't need developer-level skills to build it out or keep it maintained.
Cons
The interface can be pretty frustrating at times. I use the blog feature a lot and sometimes moving one block ends up throwing off the entire layout, with the only practical fix being to roll the post back to an earlier version. On top of that the missing collaboration option for blog posts makes working with a partner feel unnecessarily slow and difficult.
