Pros

It does a really good job of helping put your business out there so more people can find you online and see your information.

Cons

My least favorite part is that not many people are using the application yet so the audience there still feels limited.

Pros

Squarespace comes with plenty of useful tools to help build a website that fits exactly what you need. There are lots of layout choices and they look polished on both desktop and mobile browsers. They also partner with several brands I already follow so I was able to sign up using a discount code.

Cons

The design tool does take a little time to get used to at first which could feel intimidating for new users. Still, if you're willing to spend a bit of time learning it, it becomes manageable.

Getting the basic templates set up is really easy and if you go with the plan that lets you add custom code, you can pretty much do anything without limits.

Cons

I'd still like a bit more control over certain details without needing to rely on code and having more add-ons available would make it even better.

I have not run into any issues. It's been very good and I'd definitely recommend using it.

I have been on Squarespace for years and it's something just about anyone can use without needing web development skills. It makes hosting your site and keeping it updated really simple.

Cons

One area that could use improvement is the analytics since they don't keep tracking data for as long as I'd prefer.

If blogging is your thing, this is definitely a platform worth considering. It comes with plenty of useful and interesting features that can really help improve and elevate your blog writing.

Cons

Using it on a phone is frustrating because the navigation speed is extremely slow.

It is a simple tool. The part I enjoyed most is how user friendly it is. I was able to build and launch a website in just a few hours during the day.

Cons

I do wish the e-commerce side were more fully developed. It works really well for a personal website but the online store features didn't meet my expectations especially things like label printing order management and customer management.

Pros

Squarespace made it simple enough to get a site up and running for a new client who didn't have the budget or resources for a fully custom website.

Cons

This isn't really a flaw with the platform itself but the usual tradeoff with a prebuilt website builder like this is having less room for customization.

Pros

Getting a website up and running with Squarespace takes very little time. The templates look modern and polished which is a big plus if appearance matters. It's very user friendly and you don't need much coding knowledge to work with it so it suits a lot of individuals and businesses. I also didn't run into many problems while using it but whenever help was needed, the support team was available.

Cons

One limitation is that clients cannot customize very much so more advanced users may feel restricted and not have enough creative freedom. Aside from the limited flexibility with templates, font choices and the overall look of the site, I really don't see many other negatives with this software.

Pros

My teenage son and I used this to completely revamp his bike shop's website, even though neither of us had any background in building websites. There was definitely a bit to learn and a few frustrating moments along the way but we still went from knowing nothing to putting together a functional, polished and professional looking site pretty quickly.

Cons

At this price point and with how user friendly it is, there really isn't much to complain about. Like any new software, there's naturally a period of figuring things out if you're starting with no experience but that's pretty much expected.

Pros

Among website builders this is by far the simplest to use and the best looking option out there. It really isn't even close. The platform sticks to good design rules which helps keep your site looking polished. Since there are limits on how you can arrange things, you cannot just drop a random box or logo anywhere on the page and that actually prevents your site from turning into a design mess.

Cons

Those same design restrictions can be a downside if you want total creative freedom. You're not able to place any element anywhere you want so if your goal is to get very experimental with the layout, it can feel a bit limiting. The tradeoff is that the site keeps its visual appeal but you do give up a little flexibility.

Pros

Squarespace is another drag and drop website builder and while there's no free plan, they do offer a trial which helps a lot when you want to test things before deciding. The platform has plenty of templates which is definitely a plus. I have used it for client websites and it can work well depending on the type of site and the features you need. That said it can feel a little pricey based on what you're trying to build. If my clients had asked me from the beginning, I probably would have suggested a different website builder since I personally prefer GoDaddy's website builder because it's simpler to work with.

Cons

The pricing could be better and the navigation could be set up in a more user friendly way. I have mainly used it for client websites and those are the areas that could use the most improvement.

Getting started with Squarespace is one of its biggest strengths. The platform is very user friendly and I really love the templates because they give everything a clean, modern look.

Cons

That simplicity does come with a trade-off in flexibility. There are a few features it doesn't offer and customizing a template can be difficult unless you know how to code.

Need a website up quickly? This works really well. You can choose a template, swap in your own text and images and have the site live in just an hour or two.

Cons

There's a lot of room for customization and you can add your own CSS if you want more control. That said it can feel overwhelming without a decent understanding of code. Also most of the templates are very similar so while the final site looks polished, it can end up feeling a bit bland overall.

Right out of the box, this content management system looks polished and is simple to work with. You can basically choose a template and start displaying your content without much hassle.

Cons

Even though the site looks visually appealing and works well for showcasing products, this CMS is not really the best option for building an informational or authority-style website.

Pros

We were able to build a professional, functional website with Squarespace in very little time. The interface seems organized and user friendly, with a clean minimalist approach that works well. The premium fonts are also a nice touch.

Cons

Personally it feels a bit too committed to its minimalist philosophy and simplified way of doing things. That approach worked better a few years ago when it had less competition but websites have evolved and stronger features and functionality feel more necessary now than optional. They recently introduced extensions but at the moment it only includes a small handful of add-ons.

“Decent starter for websites”

Pros

Taking over a Squarespace site from our previous web manager, I was immediately struck by how user friendly the platform was. For quick website builds, it made creating simple pages and managing the full site very approachable, even without deep web design or site management knowledge. Combined with its hosting, it felt like a very beginner friendly option for anyone new to building websites.

Cons

That same simplicity is both its biggest strength and the reason I eventually moved to WordPress. It makes getting a site online simple but it also boxes you into a familiar looking theme with only surface-level customization. Things that should have been basic for our needs like using multiple columns, embedding videos or livestreams or adding CSS, HTML and JS were extremely difficult or nearly impossible. We ended up with a website that looked fine but couldn't really be tailored the way we needed. On top of that the UI could be frustrating, with important settings like redirects buried deep in menus and missing features such as plugins and head code made it a poor fit for our company.

I find it easy to use. Even people with no web development background can put their ideas into it and build a fairly nice-looking website.

Cons

When it comes to mobile performance though, it's been the worst part by far. The sites load slowly and even if you bring in someone to optimize them for mobile so much of the underlying code is locked away that only minor speed improvements are really possible.

Squarespace has been my go-to for building and hosting my portfolio site. It's easy to work with and offers a high level of customization which really matters as a designer. Adding and uploading content is simple and there's a wide selection of templates available for different kinds of websites and needs.

Cons

The menu layout can feel a little confusing at first and it takes some time using the platform before it becomes clear where everything is.

Pros

Running a website for an organization without a lot of complex needs, Squarespace has been incredibly valuable. It's fast to set up, affordable and simple to use which is rare since you usually have to compromise on at least one of those. This platform manages to deliver all three at once.

Cons

It really works as a plug and play kind of platform. If you need to build something more advanced, it probably won't be the right fit. Getting the best-looking result also takes a bit of design sense though to be fair it isn't built for highly complex projects.
