Keeps going down

Pros

Easy on the wallet, but then again I’m made to buy more things along with this – which seems to be a lot. And I don’t get why an EHR software has to be this verbose, we need a software that is a little less complicated. They just added more feature, which I thought was very good. We have suggested them to introduce some more in the future also.

Cons

This software’s features are not really useful for everyday workflow. I don’t get it why this application ends up crashing every time I have to chart patients. I don’t know if any of my colleagues are having the same problem but from my ID, I crash all the time. Every other week the software fails us.

good but annoying password recovery process

Pros

The interface is really easy to navigate and in my experience I can tell exactly when notes were created by the nurse or coordinator which helps me stay organized. I can also view the exact documents that were uploaded to be faxed to other companies.

Cons

I need to contact my company's IT department every time I have to recover my password which is inconvenient.

System crashes

Pros

It is very effective and efficient. It allows me to meet my objectives easily.

Cons

The only problem is that the system crashes out various times. Losing track is pretty annoying.

Saves time

Pros

It is super easy to use, organize and manage. It saves your time, it makes clinic flow simple. It is convenient to use. You can easily send prescriptions in a better way rather than making calls. I recommend this product to people who want to save their time and do things easily.

Cons

Probably it’s not a con of this product but to be sure the information that you’ve sent out is correct or not you need to take additional steps.

Efficient and Effective. Highly recommended

Pros

Small practices with heavy computations including data processing of over a hundred patients on a daily basis is a tough job but Allscripts EHR software allows us to get the documentation done in a fraction of that time with impeccable ease and efficiency. Ever since we started using it, clinic work gets done very quickly, it eliminates the need for manual telephone communication with patients and pharmacies as Allscripts aids the process of patient prescription as soon as it is available at the pharmacy.

Cons

I have been using it for about six months and I have not encountered any major issues with the system so far.

Fast and simple for prescriptions

Pros

When I am filling prescriptions for more than 100 patients each day, it can be tough to stay on top of things in such a small practice. Allscripts makes the process fast and simple so I can meet every patient's needs, whether they need a single prescription filled or a hundred.

Cons

Honestly nothing negative to report. I have been using Allscripts since May 2017 and have come to really love it.

Great system to work with once you learn it

Pros

Referrals are very simple and fast with Allscripts. The system has in-built mail and fax which makes communication with patients and vendors very easy. Faxing files and data from within the EHR saves us a lot of time and effort. Faxing data to labs, pharmacies, and imaging companies. Placing orders for diagnostic tests and making referrals all from one place without wasting any paper in manually printing out and manually faxing them.

Cons

Locating charts and documents is an elaborate process with no shortcuts. As we use them frequently, it can be a bit of a nuisance. Having to go through all the dates to find the right piece of information needed. It is only convenient once you know your way around all the documents.

Great EMR!

Pros

I would definitely recommend Allscripts to any physician or office manager, as I’ve worked with them and with Allscripts and got to know that Allscripts offers all those features and functionalities that physicians and office managers need. I have demoed the product and used it as well, and I’ve found Allscripts to be very easy to use in comparison to other top performing EMRs. Allscripts is a bit expensive than others but it is the most preferred system.

Cons

It isn’t a con of this product but in general of the overall EMR market, and it is that the market has completely soaked with so many EMRs that it is hard for any EMR to actually be prominent of its good quality.

Good value for money for small practice

Pros

Allscripts is a good choice for small and independent practices that have a small budget and cannot get access to more advanced and expensive EHR choices that are often found in large medical healthcare facilities. The system has a few useful features. Charting is simple and intuitive, good templates. Placing orders and writing and locating doctors and nurse notes is easy. Note-writing speed can be improved by creating macros. The process of registering patients into the system, checking in and assigning patients to rooms is fairly convenient. Comprehensive charts and appropriate records.

Cons

The system functions are not automated for example, note taking takes quite some time as compared to more advanced systems such as Epic. Although it works smooth and provides adequate workability in a small practice setting.

Too many clicks

Pros

Their pharmacy renewal requests are easy, and the overall product is easy to use, and some parts of it, such as the custom order feature are efficient. Communication between departments and all have been made easy for us due to this product.

Cons

It gets very annoying when you have to click a lot just to get somewhere. Laboratory result tracking is not that great, this tracking should be in real-time which would make it a more efficient product, as this tracking is very important in our profession. The customer patient and provider lists are quite technical to create and manage.

Pros

There isn’t anything good about this product.

Cons

I regret signing in the first place with this company. I don’t know how I fell for it. The system doesn’t work well, it hangs all most every day and you’re unable to work and have to restart the system completely. The interface is not user-friendly at all. The customer service is pathetic. The major con is that you pay a lot just to have this system but when it comes to the point of taking a step back and cut off this system you pay much more than what you paid initially. They don’t even let you get out of this easily until the termination time comes, till then you have to keep paying them monthly.

Easy to use

Pros

It is easy to use. The navigation between the screens and functions is very easy. You can easily maximize your production through running multiple ERA at a time. It is effective and efficient, allowing me to get the best of my work.

Cons

It has an option that prevents from manually posting automatically, which is a great feature, but I would want it to be more defined. That’ll make it amazing.

The new liaison is great.

Pros

The new liaison that we got “Sally Borel” is a savior. We weren’t really happy with the product, but she helped us solve our issues and now things have changed, and issues get resolved timely. She is always there to help us. The support team is great, they’ve helped us a lot, and the most amazing thing is that we don’t always need a Wi-Fi to use it. The medical profile is user-friendly.

Cons

It isn’t cloud-based so cannot be accessed from anywhere or at any time. Syncing is needed just to see the documentation. Need to get a server to set up the system, which costs. The HHA care plan is not user-friendly at all.

Way too expensive

Pros

It is easy to use, and it has a lot of great features and modules that an EMR should have like faxing, e-prescription, internal communication etc. Plus, its layout is easy as well.

Cons

They are way too expensive. They kind of impose it on you as well. The software and hardware we took from them, and that costed us a lot and they also asked for a 3-year training fee, which we asked them to cut it down to 1 year, and they didn’t. Plus, when you have to update it, they cost you for that as well, because we couldn’t do it, and when we wanted to switch to their cloud-based system, the price for that was way too high. Either stay away from them or bear with their increasing prices.

Awful service. Waste of money

Pros

The system has frequent extensive downtimes so you can take breaks in between attending patients because there is really no other option. The patients get frantic and often break into a protest in the lounge area. Since the product and cloud are poorly designed and crashes every now and then you do get the opportunity to converse with the people in India quite often. thats where the company has outsourced its customer support. Since they arent ready to support you, they simply dismiss your issue saying things like "this is a worldwide issue, we know. " Thats extremely clever however I have 15 patients waiting on me. This hasnt generally ended up being a pro. To be straightforward, there truly are no Pros with Allscripts.

Cons

They charge you a high cost to buy out of the contract. An obscure organization with awful service. Getting this software will be the most regrettable business choice you ever make. You essentially cant escape the contract. I would never use or recommend this system to anyone in the healthcare profession.

Unprofessional.

Cons

This EMR has no future because of the way they behave. They con you into signing a 5-year contract and then wouldn’t help you get things done. They just keep sending us invoices and not even the right ones. They don’t do anything rather than charging you and handing over you with this product. If this product still makes it after 10 years it would be quite a shock for me especially when they are this bad. People who have signed their contract do give it a read and know everything and do whatever possible. It will get you frustrated.

Pros

It is a good product and works well. It has been around for quite a while, so we thought of giving it a try. It works well mainly when it is used in a way it was meant to be used. Definitely to use this product you’d be needing knowledge or proper training to use it, especially for the reports.

Cons

They do not respond when you contact them for an issue to be resolved. It takes them longer time to respond if they do respond. They visited our place and we asked them questions that we had in mind related to the IDT template and so, but yet we haven’t gotten any response from them, and it has been 3 months since their visit.

A lot of clicking

Pros

I somehow manage to get the job done, I don’t know if that could be considered a good thing about the product or me. I bet it’s me who is able to do it.

Cons

The time for the system to close is 9pm and many other patients come after that time and it is really disappointing when the system won’t work, and you can’t do anything about it. You get interrupted as well if you’ve not completed a task before 9 pm and then you have to do it all again in the morning. There is a lot of clicking in this system and the documentation is very slow. There are many functions that don’t even work well. There are constant billing problems that we face. The system goes down a lot.

Highly disappointed

Pros

There was a time when this product was great, and weve spent 30 plus years with Allscripts. It was great back in the days. It had great features, amazing support and was user-friendly as well.

Cons

I don’t know what happened to them, they probably expanded and didn’t train their employees well. The product support is weak. The product itself has increased a lot in price. No one responds to help you sort out any issue you face. They are a disaster.

Boost your success with this EMR

Pros

Through this product we’ve been able to boost our success. Things have become a lot easier for us. From writing down manual notes to now prescribing it on the system. We can take notes on it as well. Access patient details. The product is easy to use. It is an amazing product to have.

Cons
