“Highly customizable for dermatology
Pros
I really like how much I can customize the system. As a dermatology clinic, we have found its flexibility fits our workflows and performs reliably.
Cons
My experience with support has been mixed. As the team is based in India so sometimes the language differences make getting help more difficult than I'd like.

“EASY TO USE. GREAT FOR DOCUMENTATION
Pros
Documenting patient data is a breeze with Allscripts. The platform is very user-friendly as it is streamlined to provide quick access to charts, notes, medication tabs and any patient related info ensuring maximum efficiency. All components of the system integrate well together and offer good communication within departments and between doctors and assisting staff.
Cons
The system halts too often and it is frustrating having to shut down then restart the program and redoing the work. There are quite a few glitches which set us behind on our daily working. I am hoping the company fixes that in the upcoming versions.

“Fast and straightforward
Pros
Compared to other EMRs, it has a great navigation system through different sections and a lot of data can be seen on the main screen. It also helps that the software helps in fast data entry. I find it to be really straightforward and the information interface looks good too.
Cons
This software does its work but no bells and whistles. It’s a standard software and nothing else. Plus, if you need some extensive work done, you won’t find it comprehensive for scheduling or billing. Perhaps, in the next update. Allscripts can work on its flaws and make it much better.

“Great for communicating with providers
Pros
I love the fact that this platform allows for providers to communicate and do an information exchange via its easily navigated site. This software seriously reduces workload and provide better efficiency, which I really need for my practise. I would really recommend it for a small to midsize employers.
Cons
I find Allscripts to be a nonstarter in many things. It really takes it fair share in rebooting and that wastes a lot of my time. Plus, it doesn’t let enough users use it on an everyday basis. I have tried to complain about this but to no avail. I hope they fix this issue soon.

“Difficult to learn
Pros
The software has a great option that it makes itself easy to access within many different EMR systems. It is secure with multiple steps to ensure no one but the doctor is prescribing. I love the fact that quick sending to pharmacy is done easily on this. If you need a safe and secure system for pharmaceutical operations, then Allscripts is great.
Cons
It can be somewhat unreliable, honestly. I can occasionally not send scripts when ordered, but this does not happen often. Takes a bit of training to get used to and I wish they had told us this earlier. It took me a long time to understand just how many options this software has. Beware, you will end up wasting time on this.

“It is cheap
Pros
If you have the courage to get yourself into the dinosaur like old interface, where things are seldom on the portal, then go for this. It is cheap, but if you manage to get yourself away with ancient history like software, then I’m happy to tell you you get yourself a good application. You can probably get your claims to go through.
Cons
What good do I even talk about this? I tried but rarely think of any. Very old interface with a requirement of putting effort. This is seriously a pain to work with and navigate. They need to change everything about this.

“Easy to understand
Pros
Allscripts has great ability to incorporate my needs of practice and of different providers. I found myself relaxed with the fact that it provides complete record keeping. I also think that it provides an easy way to understand documentation. Perhaps, the dictation capabilities of this software will also help people.
Cons
If we look at the Cost per Doctor, then this software is surely not feasible for smaller practises. I don’t mind paying this much but then it should also be worth its money, which I feel this is not. There’s also a significant learning curve, for which ones needs a lot of patients.

“Good EMR with proper implementation
Pros
It is a fairly decent EMR system but only with months of set up and implementation. Once that is out of the way, Allscripts provides a good platform for primary care and a few other specialties.
Cons
The system requires extensive periods of time from staff and doctors to set up the system according to the practice needs. Setting up tables, charts, templates, and protocols can take months before the system can go live. Even after all that, the system does not contribute to much meaningful usage. The workflow is not streamlined and cumbersome in some specialties that have separate ICD-10 coding for specific body sites.

“Perfect for my practice
Pros
The platform is very simple to navigate. The functions are very intuitive. Everything is easily accessible. I use Allscripts remotely for Care Management. The system always keeps me updated with the latest patient information, which allows me to provide quality and timely care to my patients and make sure after discharge, they transition well into the new location. The system has some great functionalities to offer. Charting is very simple; I love the easily accessible doctor and nurse notes. The reports, medication and any demographic information are easy to locate.
Cons
I wish the layout was more organized and had defined categories as the program can exhibit cluttering at times. There are too many things going on at a time, too many information on one page with no proper order. It can be confusing.

“Overall efficient
Pros
For every template, there is a separate customization which is loved by my employees. Each template can be formed for a problem and becomes sufficiently better if the days are super busy and loaded with patients. Being able to add comments on the problems and reviewing them over time is a nice feature to have.
Cons
Allscripts is seriously prone to crashing. Not just that, after crashing, the system needs to be rebooted and it takes up its good time which can be overwhelming. I still don’t know if this problem persists with Allscripts itself or is it our internet connection.

“Do not trust this company
Pros
The fact that it’s not too easy or not too hard to use at the same time, still makes it something you can learn. You might be able to wrap your head around the application but then again you need specific instructions which their customer service. Some of their features need proper attention.
Cons
Worse customer service ever. I’m made to stay on hold, after a while when finally, someone decides to answer, someone from abroad replies. But once you place a ticket, nobody resolves your query. Before joining the contract, it was fairly mentioned that I will get training which they never fulfilled. And now it gets harder for me to navigate or seek any help around work. Terrible experience with such a company, they need to provide detailed instructions before coming up with any feature.

“You get more than you pay for
Pros
First of all, I like that this program is cloud-based which gives me access to use it remotely. The information in Allscripts EMR is updated in a real-time manner which in turn assists me to follow up with my patients and devise further working accordingly. I like how easy it is for me to access and navigate the system; its flawless.
Cons
Transfer of information can be a bit of a hassle at times but that is something negligible.

“Good features but not user friendly
Pros
We got notified than an upcoming update will bring features that we’re desperately being waiting for. I feel those features will make this app worth working with. But, I wouldn’t get my hopes up. Still, what I like about this software’s feature is their MIPS portal, everything is by the book, I need no help once I follow its instructions properly.
Cons
This is a buggy application that crashes every single day, and feels like it is inevitable. When it malfunctions and crashes, Allscripts is only restorable by an IT guy, who are usually never available when you need them. Also, their customer service app is dead. If it is your lucky day, your problem will be answered, but usually it is a miss.

“Versatile yet confusing
Pros
As the title suggests, it’s versatile. it is also customizable with templates and handling of charts and can provide clear instructions on navigation. This is a diverse third-party platform that introduces vast options and features that one can learn easily with practice. I also like the fact that it’s a simple software without too much fuss around it.
Cons
The Company is lazy to fix bugs. I’m sure by now they must be facing such problems at every other institution. I don’t think I ever had any single help from their customer support. They seem to ask what the problem is and often question whether our network connection is in working condition.

“Multiple ways to accomplish tasks
Pros
What I really like is that there are several different ways to accomplish the same task. For example I can choose between typing free text or using a template.
Cons
It is frustrating because it can glitch occasionally which disrupts my workflow and slows things down.

“Innovative but expensive implementation
Pros
The system is very versatile and allows customization to a great degree. The interface is well-organized and aptly designed to ensure ease of use. Allscripts system, for the most part, works quite well, yet basic glitches are only every once in a long while fixed, even after making upgrades and even with the costly upkeep contracts. I have been informed that regardless of calling their period in form refreshes as "Cumulative Updates", they dont suggest applying these except if you have explicit issues. This would make them a hotfix as opposed to a collective update. Although the system offers a vast variety of features and functions specific to your practice.
Cons
There are many bugs that appear frequently and the company can be very inefficient in fixing them. This is disappointing as the software is expensive to configure, upgrade and patch. Their support staff is unreliable, unskilled and not easily accessible.

“Bad design
Pros
A fair and simple application to use. Not much to add but that its simplicity is the key. It’s easy to navigate around the application. Also, this software offers the ability of sending electronic prescriptions, which is very convenient.
Cons
It bugs! Literally, for the past year, I have been trying to think why my work has not been able to be done on time. But then, I don’t have to rethink twice because this software crashes every single time. Not just that, it integrates with other systems very poorly; almost next to impossible. Coding needs a little work. We cannot expect to pay this much and yet fail to work with it. Not recommended.

“Archaic software
Pros
Allscripts really knows what they mean by the term digital as sending out information live and digitally being able to converse is super convenient on this. I can easily send e-prescriptions and e-fax. I like how it manages to keep us updated with patients’ insurance carriers. However, it’s also odd that it doesn’t show the ID number for patients.
Cons
It is an ancient software with little technical work done on it and it shows. I’m not amused by its features completely. I’m rather made to buy something that I don’t think will be useful for future purposes or anything that could help at work. Clickity-click and that is the only thing this application seems to offer. I wont recommend it.

“Easier to use than other EHRs
Pros
One of the finest and well-maintained third party software that I have worked with. Sure, every other EHR software has bugs and glitches, and this one is no different. But, what I like the most about this application is that the layout for scheduling, maintaining charts for the patients, communication and up dated messages service work smoothly. It also makes it easier to navigate around with their task bar.
Cons
What is daunting is the way scheduling is done on this. From the process of charting patients to scheduling them is a process to go through on its own. If only you could be able to schedule directly from the charts. That could have great potential.

“DON’T BUY THIS!
Pros
I wish I could say anything about this app but I have nothing to say about it. To be honest, I don’t blame this software. I need knowledge, a very tedious software for very little work. It takes time to wrap my head around this.
Cons
Where do I even start with this software? It has a habit of dying on me every single time I predict it is slowing. Downtime is inevitable on this and also mostly expected. Clicks and clicks, throughout the day. You need to open many tabs to do one task, any my computer has a lot of unwanted tabs that slows down my workflow.
