“Simply Amazing!
Pros
This is a great product for anyone who wants to boost their success. It helps you do a lot of your tasks easily and manage and organize stuff. It is easy to use. The electronic prescription functionality is amazing, as it helps us save a lot of time that would have been utilized in manually writing prescriptions down or typing.
Cons
Finding medication through the list kind of takes time, especially when you have to add in more than 2 or 3 medications, and we do face a few glitches sometimes.

“Robust product
Pros
It is a good product, and since 2007 I’ve been working with Allscripts. It is a stable product and the modules that we are currently using has good support as well. It has a lot of great features too. The product to some extent is user-friendly as well, and we’ve never yet faced any major issues while upgrading to newer versions of this system.
Cons
Their support system is a bit weak, not every module is stable as the one we currently use. They need to make their support stronger. They have many teams divided, and there is this one support team that isn’t really as great as the rest, and they need to work on that, to make a standard level of support. Since they’ve expanded and added new people and shifted to a more automated phone system and support system, their quality seems to decrease.

“Quick IT help but complex medication workflow
Pros
I get quick responses whenever I need IT help which I really like. The IT team is friendly and approachable although sometimes their accent or phrasing makes them hard to fully understand. I also like the way the EMR looks and formats when I print patient records as the printed layout is clean and practical.
Cons
My team has trouble syncing from home on occasion and we've recently been told that Allscripts doesn't work with VPNs or remote access. A major limitation for a home health company like ours that relies on remote connectivity. Another frustrating part is how cumbersome medication management is. So I wish adding and discontinuing meds were simpler. When a patient is admitted to the hospital for a few days, nurses here have to individually end every medication and then re-enter them once the patient returns home which is time-consuming and error-prone. The current medication workflow in Allscripts feels like it's not designed with frontline workers in mind. I'd welcome the chance for our nursing staff to provide feedback, because we have clear ideas on making this whole feature much more user-friendly.

One thing I appreciate is that the team is willing to collaborate on building apps and I find the platform easy to use when I am working outside the office.
Cons
I have run into downtime and often have difficulty getting timely results or follow-up when I have reported problems.

“makes us lose money
Pros
I liked how the system created reports but the software was not user friendly and we ended up losing money with Allscripts overall.
Cons
In my experience, their customer service was slow and appeared to lack sufficient knowledge about the product.

“Extremely hard to use, doubles work
Pros
Honestly there's almost nothing about this product that I like. It simply fails to satisfy our requirements and I find it extremely hard to use.
Cons
It's not user-friendly and causes my staff to spend twice as much time finishing visits.

“using it for over ten years and love it
Pros
Over the course of nearly ten years I have relied on this and have always found it user friendly. In short it is simple to use and I pick up new features quickly whenever they release updates.
Cons
I honestly don't have any issues with either the Allscripts software or the company that provides it.

“Good patient education but too many add-ons
Pros
I like the patient education materials as they are pretty good and based on current evidence.
Cons
Everything seems to be an extra-cost add-on which annoys me. I don't get why they'd roll out new features when hot fixes are still pending.

“Awful system that doubles work
Pros
I cannot point to a single feature of this EHR that stands out as my favorite as nothing about it really earns the title best based on my time using it.
Cons
My experience with the AllScripts EHR we're stuck with has been awful, to put it mildly. Data never flows where it should, so nothing meaningfully populates across different parts of the chart. For example, when I give insulin I expect that to automatically show up on the diabetic flowsheet but instead I end up charting the same thing twice. The system also won't tie into our telemetry which means yet another separate entry for the same information. Charting the physical assessment feels like a full-time job as it's unbearably cumbersome. Opening a patient's chart can take me nearly 20 to 30 minutes which is ridiculous. Moving from bedside to bedside as we're supposed to do is made worse by long login and logout times every time I try to chart at the bedside. Once I am finally in, the sheer number of overlapping descriptors is maddening. like so many options that essentially mean the same thing. The findings list is absurdly long and not organized in any helpful way I can find. Such as alphabetical order or logical grouping would make it so much easier to locate what I need. The workflow is inconsistent too. As it forces you to go through some sections item by item while skipping over others entirely, so I constantly have to go back and fill things in manually. A good example is the skin exam, where I am required to step through every single line each time but then in the cardiac section it will skip a telemetry parameter if the assessment is listed as WDL. If I have bothered to add a telemetry parameter, odds are I want that available. The layout itself is visually overwhelming like too many columns across the page and that contributes to people accidentally entering information into the wrong column. When an item is clicked by mistake, there's no way to remove it, so it just becomes a grayed-out, space-taking entry. Parameters with no data should be deletable or at least have an undo option but they don't. Bottom line we are healthcare providers, not IT staff and I should never spend more time documenting care than delivering it. Paradoxically, all the endless clicking has left me documenting less useful information than I did on paper. I have yet to meet a single colleague who actually likes this system.
