“clean layout”
Pros
Easy to learn and use and it covers everything in one place-scheduling, medical records and billing. Customer support has been genuinely helpful and responsive throughout setup and day-to-day use.
Cons
A few updates don't seem to fit every workflow so certain changes may feel odd depending on how you use the system.

“community health resources that connect”
Pros
AthenaOne feels like the top platform for community health resources in my city. It's been a genuinely helpful tool for communicating with my providers without any hassle-everything connects up smoothly.
Cons
It also seems like they've effectively cornered the market for community health software in my region. I don't view that as a dealbreaker on its own but it's noticeable that it's the most widely used option across the Pacific Northwest.

“Love using it”
Pros
I Honestly can't imagine running my practice without Athena. Our company started about five years ago and at that point our patient population was basically zero. Today we're supporting more than 8,600 patients. As a solo provider with a team of around 20 staff, we're able to take care of our community largely because of the support Athena One gives us.
Cons
No real complaints about Athena itself. My setup includes a lot of billing components-EKGs, ABIs, diabetic retinal exams and a strong continuity-of-care workflow. Every once in a while, our billing department gets stuck because the answers from Athena's support team aren't sufficient. I suspect this is tied to how our small company operates which tends to require more nuance than the typical setup. My practice manager can probably explain those specifics better.

“recommended!!”
Pros
Love love Athena. The claim scrubbing is genuinely deep and the customer success approach for solutions is solid whenever questions pop up. The client success manager was wonderful and it also feels like the team is constantly pushing forward with new and innovative solutions and tools.
Cons
The only drawback is the time it takes to move data from one system to another but that's true for any EMR implementation. It was especially helpful that the data migration happened early in our clinic's launch and since we only had a year of data to transfer, the process wasn't too painful. Athena's team offered a lot of practical ideas to make the move as manageable as possible.

“Definitely 5 stars from me”
Pros
Honestly It is hands down the best I've ever used. I've been working in Medical Administration for over 30 years and this is by far my favorite. What I love the most is that when a patient sends a message, I can add who they want to speak with and it keeps a full trail of everyone they've spoken to and whether or not they were taken care of.
Cons
At first I had a hard time learning Athena. I'd say this was more about the training, though. Once the right training is in place, it becomes a lot more efficient.

“Smooth communication”
Pros
Athena is the best platform for community health resources in my city. It's been a great tool for smooth communication with my providers.
Cons
Athena really seems to dominate the community health field here in my area. I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing but it's definitely the most popular software around the Pacific Northwest.

“Highly effective medical software”
Pros
I seriously couldn't do what I do without Athena. My company started about five years ago with zero patients. Now we have over 8600 patients! As a solo practitioner with a team of 20, we're able to take care of our community and it's all because of the support It gives us.
Cons
I don't have major issues with Athena but my practice is pretty extensive with a lot of billing items like EKGs, ABI tests, and diabetic retinal exams. Sometimes my billing department gets bogged down because the answers from Athena's support team aren't always as detailed as we need. I think it's because we require a bit more than the average practice though. My practice manager could explain this better.

“Grateful for Athena in my practice”
Pros
I absolutely love Athena! They really dig deep into claims and have a great customer success team that helps solve any questions I have. My client success manager is wonderful and they're always coming up with innovative solutions and tools.
Cons
I can't think of any real issues. The only downside is the process of transferring data from one system to another. But that's pretty much standard with any EMR system. When our clinic launched, the data transfer process was time-consuming but Athena made it as easy as possible and I'm thankful we did it early on because I only had a year's worth of data to move.
