“amazing support but high pricing”
Pros
What really stood out to me was how the platform's systems work together. Plus the customer support team was amazing as whenever I had a question they responded right away and helped me immediately.
Cons
However the pricing is quite high and it was challenging to figure out exactly what I needed for my practice.

“billing is risky and indifferent to flaws”
Pros
AthenaOne reliably closes process loops and consciously routes clinical data to the correct places. I also noticed that they try to address customer feedback and suggestions which I can vote on in their Success Community online forum.
Cons
As an FQHC/CHC we chose this tool for our specific business model but they simply were not ready for us then and they remain unresponsive to the serious concerns we've raised. This has put us in a financially risky position. While the core EHR and scheduling functions are acceptable the billing and RCM components are failing and the new dental EHR is struggling too. The real cost is passed directly to our patients because Athena takes its fee off the top regardless of our reimbursement challenges. The most frustrating part is their apparent indifference to critical flaws. For example their system does not properly attach secondary payers, a feature that is absolutely vital for our low-income patient population. I expected them to care about something so fundamental to our mission but they don't.

“AthenaOne is efficient secure and easy to use”
Pros
AthenaOne offers a comprehensive solution with nearly all the features needed for managing medical records charting patient communication registration portal access etc. all in one place. It is also known for its userfriendly design customizable workflows and accessible customer service through chat or phone.
Cons
Customizing certain workflows further like consolidating the Exam section into a single page during the fivestep encounter would be appreciated instead of having to navigate to the next page for each section.

“Best eMAR for Medical Offices”
Pros
Athena is highly userfriendly for all users simplifying the process of looking up patients and sharing information across multiple practices. A strong recommendation is made.
Cons
Finding notes on uploaded items can sometimes be difficult. Password requirements can be challenging but necessary for an eMAR system.

“awful onboarding and missing essentials”
Pros
While the platform can work well after it's configured the initial setup is a nightmare as it was confusing and the so-called team they assign sometimes understands less about the product than I do. I felt post-implementation support was satisfactory but it arrives without any sensible set of prebuilt templates, reports, workflows or the basic items you'd expect to run a typical medical office. It's frankly not pleasant. Honestly I struggle to find anything I genuinely like about it. The workflows are not user friendly and there is not a simple daily dashboard showing activity, payments and similar essentials at all.
Cons
The software itself can be great once it is finally set up but the onboarding experience is awful and confusing. The team they assign you sometimes seems to know less about the platform than I do. While the support after implementation is okay, the real problem is that the system does not come ready to use. It is not preconfigured with a reasonable set of preformatted tools, reports or workflows. Basically none of the essentials you need to run a typical medical practice are there out of the box. It is disgusting.

“Mixed Feelings About the System”
Pros
Once the system is set up, it does seem to work well. The support after implementation is adequate and the system itself functions decently.
Cons
Setting up the system is a horrible and confusing experience. The team assigned to assist with setup often lacks sufficient knowledge about how the system works, making the process even more frustrating. Unfortunately, the system lacks essential pre-formatted tools, reports, workflows, and other necessary elements for operating a standard medical practice. Its non-intuitive workflows make it difficult to use, and there's no easy-to-access daily dashboard for activity and payments.

“Review of Athena No longer used”
Pros
While AthenaOne was praised by colleagues in primary medical practice it wasn't a good fit for our practice where we don't handle insurance billing or eprescriptions.
Cons
AthenaOne is a comprehensive system tailored for practices that engage in insurance billing claims management and eprescribing. Unfortunately our practice doesn't utilize these features and requires a more streamlined system for optimal operations.

“Tidy records with helpful photos”
Pros
My patient record sections are very tidy and I can click on common symptoms which saves me from typing. I also like the little photos next to each patient's name because they help me locate records more quickly and with less hassle. There is also a sign-in page listing all providers so I can easily see who reviewed the chart and who helped document the patient's care which keeps things organized.
Cons
I notice lag when I scroll through the various pages of a chart which can be frustrating. Communicating with the provider after I finish charting is not easy either and I often cannot tell whether the clinician has seen or signed off on the note. As per me a simple fix would be a clickable or written alert between the scribe and provider so we both know when a chart is done.

“Purple interface and easy scheduling”
Pros
I like the purple interface and overall it's fairly easy to use. I am a big fan of Athena Text. And scheduling feels like the simplest feature in the whole program. Tagging and organizing documents is also easy enough. Plus I love that verifying most insurance plans does not take very long in most cases.
Cons
For me the worst part is handling prescriptions. As I cannot close them and the only choice seems to be to deny prescriptions which has been a real nightmare. I also find replying to patient cases unnecessarily difficult.

“Mixed Bag with Some Likable Aspect”
Pros
I like the interfaces purple color and generally, the system is user-friendly. Athena text is a standout feature and scheduling within the program is quite easy. Additionally, labeling and organizing documents are relatively simple tasks. I also like the swift verification process for most insurances.
Cons
Unfortunately, Athena has a tendency to overcomplicate things unnecessarily. The prescription management is particularly frustrating as it doesnt allow for easy closure of prescriptions; instead, the only option is to deny them, causing headaches. Additionally, responding to patient cases is needlessly complicated.

“Great resource for medical professionals”
Pros
I love how AthenaOne offers an all in one solution with a variety of tools and services for providers to excellently manage their practice and deliver high-quality care. The user-friendly medical record is thorough and payment processes are simplified. AthenaOne seamlessly integrates with a clinical network, providing access to extra resources. Furthermore, the patient engagement feature fosters stronger relationships and improves overall care.
Cons
While AthenaOne can be a bit costly to buy and implement, and may demand more training to take full advantage of its features, it ultimately offers long-term benefits that make the expense and time worth it.
