“Pretty Good

Pros

I like the customization a lot. Customer service is fast and helpful! It seems user-friendly for parents as well. Unfortunately, I can't use it for registration software, but it seems like it would integrate well, and other aspects of the software would be useful.

Cons

Report building seems riddled with issues, I can never compile everything I need into one report. Also, the inability to view attendance lists until the program starts is frustrating. Despite being tech-savvy, setting up the system was cumbersome. Although our price doubled, we decided to stick with it for a couple more years, though we are considering switching to save money in the future.

A mobile application is essential as most of our usage occurs in the field. Also, a customizable EMR for swift sports injury documentation is necessary.

I admire the ability to collect and store our essential data and access it conveniently. The continual improvements and new features clearly have the customer in mind and are greatly appreciated, making the use of CampDoc more efficient and convenient.

CampDoc synthesizes all of my needs, registration, health forms, finances - into one user-friendly interface. They are definitely a health-forms company first, but they are absolutely the best in the business in terms of customer service and support. Every time I've needed to troubleshoot areas of the software that were not completely meeting our needs, they have worked around the clock to find a solution. Even though costs have gone up, I would not trade their customer service quality for any discount anywhere.

Cons

Our billing invoice filtering process could use some enhancement. Despite being a challenging client due to our complex registration categories, we have not quite streamlined the process yet. Still, given the same budget and options within the industry, I would choose them again.

My team uses CampDoc at all levels. Hourly camp teachers use it to keep track of campers on their rosters and manage food and activity safety. Management uses it to keep camp records and waivers on file. This software is essential to the smooth operation of our camp.

Cons

The software is powerful, so it can take some time to learn and feel like I am using it to its fullest potential. The online training videos are helpful, but it can take a lot of my time in my workday to really understand the tools and resources available to help me learn the software.

The parent company's default insurance option, which cannot be altered, often leads to unnecessary charges and provides minimal value.

How easy it is for non-tech-savvy parents to navigate the portal. Tracking students' registration progress is simple, troubleshooting student issues is a breeze through the admin portal, and it helps me organize our demographic metrics significantly better than Google Forms. The support team is very responsive.

“We Love CampDoc!

Pros

The biggest help is how easy it is for our families to register their kids for programs once they've created the account. The Medical Sections are well crafted and give us and the parents peace of mind that we are fully prepared to care for our students.

At our camp, some students choose to get headshots, so if there were a way for us to upload those images to their CampDoc account so I would not have to store them, that would be helpful. We also have some programs that require audition videos for some but not all students, and if they could submit their video for us to review and share with other teachers, that would be cool. I know we can have them upload video files, but since it's not required for all students, that feels like more of a hassle to do it that way.

I love the medical aspect, which is stronger than any other camp software I've seen. I like that campers can register, get all their info in, and that it rolls over year after year. Staff are always available for our needs, always ask for feedback, and I've seen some of our suggestions implemented over the years. CampDoc has been a HUGE game changer for our program in terms of increasing medical safety, camper enrollment, customer service (no more re-doing the same paper forms over and over!), improved data tracking, and reduced admin work related to 'paper chasing' forms. I recommend it to all my camp friends who need a way to keep campers safe medically.

Cons

Steep learning curve, somewhat clunky and lacks intuitiveness, missing key medical features (yet still superior to other camp software), and exceedingly costly, particularly for small camps. After 7 years, I still stumble through it and find retrieving specific reports challenging. The price hike within a year is staggering. I wish there were affordable options for smaller camps like ours, but the risk of switching outweighs the cost.
