Satisfied

Pros

Their client service has dazzled me the most. They are proficient and welcoming, and they have been amazingly steady during the training period. We are using their All-in-One offer, which has helped us cut the issue and cost of buying into two different sellers.

Cons

Their EHR is not available on MAC. Nevertheless, Avalon’s iPad App is doing the job for the moment.

Our office uses CureMD.

Pros

It meets the standard requirements. When it functions properly, it fulfills all our needs.

Cons

It experiences glitches frequently, though the customer support is generally excellent.

Great cloud-based access

Pros

I no longer require a server room or the extra computer equipment with its ongoing maintenance costs. The cloud system now stores all my data online. Using the Patient Portal in the evenings has become a routine and my patient-related phone calls have significantly decreased. It is been a blessing.

Cons

I also use the billing service, and while I no longer require a dedicated billing team at my practice, I feel less 'in control'. With my previous billing staff, I had the ability to monitor their activities at any time. It is not that CureMD has made mistakes it is just I simply feel disconnected from the process.

Much better than my previous EHR

Pros

The integrated system has saved me considerable time. Everything is simple, well-defined and perfect. Previously, I used Athena for EHR and a smaller vendor for Practice Management, which led to compatibility issues and data duplication.

Cons

Its accessibility is restricted to Windows. I wish I could access my EHR on my Mac. Although their iPad app, Avalon, is currently not fully functional, improvements are underway, and I have been assured that complete functionality will be available soon. Besides this, it meets my needs perfectly.

Under-impressed.

Pros

It is relatively easy to use and navigate. I also like the visibility of my billing details, although more frequent updates would be beneficial. They generally make an effort to accommodate my needs and make things work. The pricing is also reasonable.

Cons

I have been using this system for six months now and I am uncertain about renewing the contract. Having experience with Epic, the VA system, and an outdated system at Cedars before their transition to Epic, I can compare with other systems. CureMD is not the worst but it falls short compared to others. A new version has been promised, which might address some issues. However, for a system existing for a decade, one would expect fewer issues requiring fixes.

November 2013

Unsatisfactory Business Practice

Pros

At the moment, there are no positives to mention from my side.

Cons

Our contract with CureMD ended in October 2013. During this period, we acquired a new electronic medical record system for improved office efficiency. Unfortunately, CureMD was incompatible with our new system. We were informed that a data conversion to our new system would be possible in November. On November 1st, our system access was abruptly terminated despite being paid up until the end of November. After a 3 day ordeal, we were informed that a conversion would only proceed with a substantial additional fee. The only positive aspect was the customer service representative we dealt with. He was friendly and empathetic, clearly displeased with our situation.
