“Handles our work well”
Pros
From charting to patient tracking, this software handles our work really well. The reporting options are good and there are enough features built in to support just about everyone on the team.
Cons
Locating certain functions especially ones that we use less regularly can be harder than it should be.

“quick to learn and navigate”
Pros
Moving from one screen to another feels very is very accessible. New employees can pick it up without much trouble and fixing mistakes is just as simple.
Cons
Payment processing can be an issue at times. Every now and then, a payment doesn't properly clear the person from the chart.

“Powerful features”
Pros
Coming in with no prior experience, I was able to learn the system quickly and keep discovering new tools and features every day.
Cons
Because it includes so many features, it felt a bit overwhelming at the beginning. Being new to both the software and the field, I do not always know where to find the information I need to use the system properly.

“perio charting and quick updates”
Pros
One feature I really enjoy is the perio charting and comparison tools. Updating patient information especially for continuing care and recall needs, is also very convenient and user friendly.
Cons
I'd still like to see better functionality for scheduling multiple appointments within continuing care especially when working with multiple providers.

“fantastic support and usability”

Pretty much everything about it has worked well for me. It's simple to use, troubleshooting doesn't take much effort, tech support is always accessible and the customer service has been consistently good.
Cons
I haven't run into any downsides.

“packed with useful features”
Pros
There's a lot packed into this software, including all the features we currently rely on and plenty more that we still haven't tapped into yet but probably should. It also connects well with other software which helps with sending claims and reminding patients about their appointments.
Cons
Learning how to use it hasn't been very easy. Even for smaller tasks, we sometimes have to call tech support to figure things out.

“clean layout and simple workflow”
Pros
At my previous job, we used this software regularly and I really loved how easy it was to use. Everything was laid out in a very simple organized way which made it easy to navigate and get things done without any confusion.
Cons
I didn't run into any issues or notice any downsides while using it.

“terrible experience”
Pros
There really isn't anything I'd point to as a positive.
Cons
Unless you're paying for tech support, nobody seems to have answers for your staff. We've been left without proper help and as a doctor I've been losing money because of this system. For a startup, that's a terrible sign and I would never use it again.

Pros
Scheduling is probably the one part that works fairly well.
Cons
Software isn't very user-friendly, the support is terrible, it's overpriced, it doesn't include everything you'd expect and there are constant glitches and crashes.

“love working in dentrix”
Pros
Keeping things simple is something I really appreciate and it has been nice to work with. I enjoy using it and whenever problems have come up, customer service has usually been helpful. Every now and then though, I do end up with someone in support who doesn't seem to know what they're talking about.
Cons
Nothing I have come across is worth mentioning here.

“best fit for dental offices”
Pros
Built around how a typical dental practice runs, it does a good job covering the day-to-day needs of the office.
Cons
The biggest downside is the cost. It also becomes harder to work with in a very large practice like ours with 10 hygienists. There are limitations when it comes to customization and reporting with that many providers and the customer service is only average. Having used companies with much better support before, that difference was very noticeable when I came back to it.

“simple to use”
Pros
Everything is laid out in a very clear way so it's simple to use. Having everything in one place makes day-to-day work much more convenient and it's also easy to explain to my staff members.
Cons
Having clearer information about which computer processor or memory setup the software performs best with would be really helpful for us.

“feature-rich and user-friendly”
Pros
Compared with other server-based dental programs I've used, it offers a lot more functionality than it gets credit for, with imaging being the only major thing it's really missing. After working with Curve Hero softDent, Open Dental and Dentacon, I'd put this tool and Open Dental at the top for both usability and overall function. If you need more tailored features, Dentrix also connects well with third-party software which adds a lot of flexibility. There are still areas where both systems could improve. Dentrix Kiosk would benefit from a more patient-friendly design and a more concise layout especially when it comes to health histories. The scripted clinical notes tool works decently but it still could use some polishing. I'd also really like to see Dentrix build a single-page dashboard that brings together charting, treatment planning, health history, current prescriptions and clinical notes all in one place. If I were choosing a server-based program today, Dentrix or Open Dental would be my top picks.
Cons
Not a single drawback comes to my mind

“terrible product”
Pros
Wish I had something positive to say about it.
Cons
The reporting can be very versatile but only if the data is entered correctly. On the other hand, customer service is extremely poor and the technical support setup is unbelievably bad. First-level support just reads from instructions without really understanding the problem. A lot of the time, they do not even seem to grasp the issue being asked about yet they still respond as if they already know the answer. Stay away.

“support leaves you stranded”
Pros

Cons
Continuous workstation problems have been frustrating even though I'm paying $144 a month for technical support, their response was basically that I should hire an IT person to figure out what's causing the issue.
