powerful insights for growth

Pros

Working where patient experience, practice growth and operational efficiency all overlap, I've used plenty of dental practice management platforms over the years. It continues to stand out because it consistently provides the depth and visibility I need as a marketing executive to help a practice grow in a strategic and sustainable way.

Cons

Learning this software does take some time. When bringing new team members on board, it takes a while to walk through the different functions and get comfortable with the workflow and all the features the system offers.

accurate reports and quick onboarding

Pros

This tool allows me to pull any report I need and trust that the information is accurate. It is also very user-friendly so new team members usually pick it up quickly without much trouble.

Cons

When errors happen, they end up affecting the entire system, this is the only complaint I have about it. Aside from that, I really do not have any other concerns or complaints about it.

well organized chart view

Pros

Platform is generally user-friendly and simple to navigate. One thing that works well is the chart section since it lets me view everything in one place on a single page.

Cons

Customer service experience has been really disappointing. Every call means sitting on hold for at least 20 minutes which gets frustrating fast. The reports also feel very generic and most of them can't be exported into Excel.

fantastic fit for dental practices

Pros

For anyone working in the dental field, this is a capable choice. It's very user-friendly for patients and works well for me alongside other software platforms.

Good tool

Pros

Automatic documentation that carries over from one visit to the next is one of the standout benefits. That helps me plan and treat patients more quickly while keeping things consistent between different providers. It's also very convenient to adjust the schedule at the last minute whenever plans change.

Cons

Interface feels a bit dated and the onboarding process took longer than I expected. A few staff members also needed additional support before they felt fully comfortable using it.

user-friendly dental ledger

Pros

For someone like me who is just starting to learn the system, this tool is surprisingly approachable. The way the dental ledger is organized is also really well done and makes it pleasant to work with.

Cons

Even when updates are released, it remains simple to use and adjusting to the changes has never been a problem for me so I don't have any complaints about it.

Pros

Layout is clean, the system is easy to understand and bringing our new employees onboard takes very little time.

Cons

Customer team is good

Pros

I used this product for 18 years up until 2020 and it served me really well. It was an excellent product overall and the customer support was consistently helpful whenever needed.

Cons

I switched from this tool because it no longer felt competitive with other tools in the market.

Pros

What I enjoy most about Dentrix is its charting feature. As a dental assistant with four years of experience, I find it easy to record existing restorations, conditions, and treatment plans. The graphics for each tooth surface are precise, and both the dental staff and the provider find it comfortable to use.

Pros

What I find most impressive about Dentrix is its ledger, which is incredibly convenient. It automatically calculates insurance benefits, patient responsibility, and bills.

Cons

Ease of Use with Dentrix

Pros

Dentrix is easy to navigate and customizable for each provider. Most features are intuitive and do not require extensive training. However, if training is necessary, the customer service team and the website provide very helpful resources.

Cons

While I appreciate being able to create note templates, it's frustrating that you can't go back when filling them out using pop-up questions. As a busy provider, I sometimes forget to check a box or fill something out, and having to manually enter it later is annoying.

Dentrix reliable and easy to learn.

Pros

I have been using Dentrix for 35 years, and it has evolved with the times while always remaining easy to use with regular updates.

Cons

It would be helpful to have ortho maximums added with insurance codes used. Also, if a patient is under 14, the system should auto-detect the prophy as a child prophy. Fluoride coverage should be auto-detected based on age in the coverage tables.
