No need to be tech-savvy

Pros

This product was very userfriendly. I'm not particularly tech-savvy but I had no trouble launching the program and using it without any issues.

Cons

Because I've only been using the free trial, I can only speak to that experience and it has been very positive so far. I do plan to move to a paid subscription soon.

clear calls and built-in payments

Pros

Long before the pandemic, I was already using it. I began with the free version and later upgraded and it has worked really well for me. The video quality is consistently crisp and whenever problems come up, they're usually tied to the client's internet connection rather than the platform itself. Having a payment portal built in is also a feature I really appreciate.

Cons

I'd still want a way for people to simply log in and make a payment on their own. When they run into connection problems, I often have to wait until our next appointment before they're able to pay me.

easy to join for clients

Pros

Found it simple to operate and my clients can just click the link and connect without any hassle.

Cons

At the beginning, I ran into occasional audio distortion but that hasn't happened in months. As long as both the client and I have a stable internet connection, it works very well. I've also seen a few cases of video pixelation but I believe those were caused by the client's internet connection.

Pros

After opening my own private practice, I was really happy to come across a HIPAA-compliant video conferencing tool.

Cons

With certain clients, weak internet connections can cause occasional audio and video glitches.

Pros

It's a cost-effective option for a small business and the process is simple to pick up and learn quickly.

Cons

The biggest downside is the missing EHR integration. On top of that, video and audio access can be unreliable so I sometimes have to reload it several times or switch to an audio-only call.

Simple for all parties involved

Pros

Easy to use for me and my clients. Once they've been shown what to do, they can join the waiting room on their own and be ready when it's time for me to begin the session.

Cons

Bandwidth can sometimes cause issues but that seems to be more about the user's location or internet connection than the software itself.

Free and helpful for my practice

Pros

Being free is a huge plus and the video quality is generally very good. It's HIPAA compliant as well which is really important and overall it's been very helpful.

Cons

The only issue that comes up once in a while is weaker video quality and that usually happens when the patient has poor Wi-Fi or cell service.

Happy with it!

Pros

When COVID-19 changed everything, I honestly never expected telemedicine to become part of my work as a clinician. Yet as a private practitioner in addiction medicine, Doxy.me turned out to be a real lifesaver for my practice. It allowed me to keep seeing patients in my small private office without needing to invest money I simply did not have in expensive telemedicine software. The platform is user-friendly for both physicians and patients which made the transition much less stressful. It has also helped me provide addiction medicine consults in the hospital and those services have been very well received by both staff and physicians. I am genuinely thankful to the team for offering private practitioners a free, HIPAA-compliant telemedicine solution.

Cons

Like most free software, the video quality is not perfect but even then, it is still better than I expected it would be.

Easy to get used to

Pros

Having a free HIPAA-compliant option is something I really value. It's very simple to use, even for someone like me who isn't particularly tech-savvy. My clients are usually able to join and use it without any trouble as well.

Cons

The free version tends to freeze on and off during every session. Most of the time it's manageable but every now and then it becomes enough of an issue that we have to switch to another platform.

Crucial for my practice

Pros

During COVID-19, it has been something I truly can't imagine working without. It's been simple, dependable and effective the whole way through. One thing I really appreciate is being able to purchase a day pass for group sessions even without upgrading to the professional plan. That flexibility has been incredibly helpful. I just wish everyone in the U.S. had high-speed internet because that makes such a big difference. When the connection on either end isn't strong enough, the video can get pixelated, freeze up or the audio can cut out and sometimes my clients and I have to continue by phone. Even with that, I'm still always able to get my work done and I'm genuinely very grateful for this product. I honestly don't know what I would have done without it.

Cons

Not everyone has access to high-speed internet which can make the connection less than ideal.

Saves people time

Pros

Switching from in-person office visits to online sessions felt very natural with this tool. It was simple to use right from the start and it has been reliable throughout. My clients often mention that they enjoy using it and many were pleasantly surprised by how simple it is to connect and talk with me through the platform. They also really appreciate not having to drive to my office anymore. Cutting out the commute is a big advantage for many people, saving them time as well as extra wear and tear on themselves and their vehicles. I also feel the quality of care in my counseling sessions has remained excellent while using Doxy.me. Thank you.

Cons

A few clients were unsure how to turn on their camera and microphone. When that happened, I would call them by phone and walk them through the setup. It was only a minor issue.

Pros

Having a no-cost option for delivering online healthcare has been really valuable for my clients and my practice. The platform is simple to use, gives us more flexibility in how we provide care and helps keep overhead from increasing. Whenever I needed assistance, the online support was also helpful.

Cons

It can be a bit glitchy from time to time although after using it repeatedly, I've realized that it's often related to the end user not having enough processing power or a strong enough Wi-Fi connection. When there's lag or glitches, reloading the page will sometimes solve the problem.

Can send documents directly to patients

Pros

Using this platform has been very simple thanks to its simple setup, reasonable cost and the core features it includes. It also lets multiple clients join the same session which is very helpful. Another big plus is being able to send documents directly from the therapist to the patient through the platform.

Cons

Every now and then, the connection will freeze and the browser has to be refreshed although that seems more related to internet service than the software itself since we work with people in a rural area. It would also be helpful if there were a way to add someone to an active call without needing to send them the link ahead of time.
