“Safer than Zoom”
Pros
It feels much more HIPAA compliant and safer to use than Zoom which gives me more confidence when meeting with clients.
Cons
Hardest part is walking clients through getting their audio and video set up properly on their devices.

“Web-based telehealth”
Pros
Using this has been effortless for both me and my clients. Since it's fully web-based, there's no software to download which makes everything much more convenient. It also comes with really useful features like screen sharing and group conferencing. The whole platform feels elegant, simple and visually appealing. I'm actually paying for it even though there's a free option, just because I genuinely want to support what they're building.
Cons
The one thing I'd really like to see added is the ability to set up virtual backgrounds like Zoom offers.

“Stable performance”
Pros
What stands out to me most with this software is how stable it has been. I've seen other people mention crashes but on the paid version I use, I haven't run into any issues at all while connected to high-speed Wi-Fi.
Cons
I'd still like it to include the option to schedule appointments and send appointment reminders.

“smooth transition”
Pros
Switching my practice to telehealth felt very manageable with Doxy.me. Getting everything set up took very little effort and it was even more simple for clients who aren't very tech-savvy. I had already been using it before COVID-19 and when I expanded into a fully online practice, it made the whole transition feel seamless.
Cons
I'd like to see at least one or two lobby waiting room options included in the free version.

“My first telehealth platform”
Pros
It is the first telehealth platform I ever used and it's still the only one I use. During the Covid-19 crisis, I was glad I already knew my way around its tools so there was barely any learning curve for me.
Cons
Staying connected can be glitchy quite often. It also really depends on having a strong, stable internet connection which unfortunately isn't always available.

“Top-notch support”
Pros
HIPAA compliance has been a big bonus and the platform is very simple to use. Support has also been solid whenever needed and overall it offers really good value.
Cons
There were a few issues during the surge in demand but things have improved a lot and it's working very well now.

“User-friendly for everyone”
Pros
Its been very user-friendly for me as well as my patients.
Cons
There have been a few dropped calls but I mostly attribute that to the increased demand for video therapy and internet provider issues.

“Continues to improve”
Pros
Getting clients connected through Doxy.me has been very simple for both them and me. All I have to do is send over a link and they can enter my virtual waiting room right away. I was also able to customize that waiting room with my headshot and a few simple instructions which made it feel more personal and clear. Over the 2.5 years I've been using it, the platform has continued to improve and it's now even more accessible than it was before.
Cons
During the COVID surge, it did seem to struggle at times with the volume of heavy traffic although that was likely the case with a lot of similar platforms. Even with that issue, I still recommended Doxy.me to my colleagues.

“protects confidential information”
Pros
Switching to telemedicine made client privacy an even bigger priority especially once the coronavirus hit and my whole state went under a stay-at-home order. As a therapist, I need a platform that protects confidential information and Doxy.me checks that box by being HIPAA compliant. It's also quick to get up and running, simple to use, tracks session times and offers a free version which made it possible to test whether it matched my practice before paying for it.
Cons
Since I've only used the free version up to this point, my biggest complaint isn't really unique to Doxy.me as much as it is a common issue with online video platforms in general. With so many people relying on these tools for work and appointments, there are occasional moments of lag and sometimes the video or audio can get a little glitchy.

“provides excellent value”
Pros
After moving from the free plan to the Pro version, I've been really happy with how convenient the platform is. Being able to take payments directly through it is a huge plus. The video quality has been dependable and the system is simple to use for both me and my clients. I also really appreciate that a BAA is available even on the free plan and upgrading is only $29 per month. In my field, another option charges around $200 per month for a healthcare BAA so this feels like a much better value. HIPAA compliance is very important to me and my clients and this platform supports that well.
Cons
One thing I'd still like to see is the ability to change or customize my background. It would also help a lot if I could send a session link ahead of time directly through the app, with something like a scheduler or calendar feature.

“Server is located in Canada”
Pros
There's a free option and the setup is very simple. It's also really easy for clients which matters a lot to me since their information isn't recorded and they don't have to download anything onto their device. Having the server located in Canada was also an important factor in my decision.
Cons
I'm using the free version so I don't think I can really give a fair opinion on this area.

“Takes no time to get started”
Pros
Getting started with it takes only a few minutes and the platform is very simple to use.
Cons
At times, getting immediate help is really difficult. There are so many people on the free trial that even paying users end up dealing with the overload.

“allows me to keep notes”
Pros
Confidentiality matters most to me and this platform covers the essentials really well. It gives me a link to use for sessions, lets me set appointment times, includes a waiting room, handles payments and also provides a place to keep notes.
Cons
The only downside is the price. I already pay for several services so adding this one means another expense.

“Would recommend strongly”
Pros
We found it easy to use and whenever questions come up, their support team is fantastic. I haven't run into any issues since I began using the platform and I'd absolutely recommend it to colleagues.
Cons
I can really only comment on the free version of the software at this point although I plan to purchase a paid package soon. One feature I'd still like to see is the ability to change the background settings.

Pros
The biggest advantage is that it's completely free which is a huge plus since my regular practice software charges extra for the same feature. It's also very simple for both me and my clients to use.

Pros
Security is a big advantage here especially with HIPAA compliance and a Business Associate Agreement in place. It's also very simple for both patients and healthcare professionals to use, the connection has been reliable and the fact that it's free makes it even better.
Cons
Can't think of any issues I've run into while using this platform.
