EMA is great, customer service is bad

Pros

It is a user-friendly EMR system that saves time in the clinic.

Cons

The EMR software EMA is good and user-friendly saving time in clinic. Implementing new features is a nightmare of discovery calls introductory calls and unusually long timelines for deploying new services. The customer service is terrible which is surprising considering it's priced at a premium level.

Modernizing Medicine

Pros

The software is a comprehensive suite with EMR and practice management. The two work well together allowing for easy scheduling of providers and linking visits. It helps guide physicians through their notes while ensuring proper coding. It also assists with MIPS and other programs. They regularly update to improve the software which is great.

Cons

The things I dislike the most are the inability to fine-tune scheduling and the cumbersome note creation process. Some more customization would be helpful.

Modernizing Medicine is the worst part of my medical practice

Pros

The graphics are good and now it's better for making operative notes.

Cons

The software frequently has downtime and glitches is not user-friendly and has redundant time-consuming data entry areas. It lacks billing codes and text for common procedures.

Pros and Cons

Pros

I like many things about it. It is easy to use and intuitive. Plus the help button actually works well when I'm stuck.

Cons

It feels clunky and takes too many steps to complete simple tasks. It doesn't save your progress so you often have to start over when moving around the software.

Top Notch Customer Service

Pros

We've been using ModMed EMA and PM since 2016 and were very satisfied. It has helped us streamline our office workflow allowing for increased productivity and revenue.

Cons

ModMed is picky about integrating with other software but is open to suggestions and change.

Summary of experience

Pros

While it has potential for dermatology the training experience with the company is lacking and they don't keep their promises. Small dermatology practices are treated poorly.

Cons

Communication about the contract is poor and the company seems more focused on their own interests than fairness to dermatologists.

I am not entirely sure. The marketing materials look impressive.

Cons

I don't recommend this software. The support line is unresponsive troubleshooting is left to the user, it's expensive and many advertised features dont work well.

EMA is fantastic they keep us informed and updated with all relevant information for our practice. They offer numerous webinars for training and addressing any issues or questions.

Cons

Disappointment in EMR with terrible billing capacity.

Pros

The software is simple to use especially with templates like most EHR systems. I particularly liked how easy it was to modify notes and utilize the features on the iPad.

Cons

Best EHR I've used!

Pros

EMA by Modernizing Medicine has significantly increased my productivity. With this product Im able to see three times as many patients as before. Charting is fast and accurate and updates are frequent usually every 2-6 weeks. The tech support is excellent and responsive and enhancement requests are addressed promptly.

Cons

There's a steep learning curve initially and updates sometimes introduce coding errors.

Pros

I found the program relatively easy to learn. It's great being able to assign tasks directly to individuals instead of flooding their inbox with emails.

Cons

Very happy otolaryngology practice!

Pros

Doctors love using the iPad device and weve managed to maintain clinical work with staff. Practice Management has been surprisingly efficient resulting in a 10% increase in revenue collection compared to our previous system thanks to the integrated clearinghouse and point-of-sale merchant services devices.

Cons

ModMed updates frequently which is appreciated but sometimes new releases cause problems. Better testing is needed and ancillary service features should be enhanced.
